Gambia: Jammeh Promoting Phantom Investments
Jammeh Promoting Phantom Investments

The budget for the inauguration alone is about $10 million which is about 5% of the entire national budget.

By Gambia’s Deep Throat, Banjul

Following stories featured on Freedom Newspaper about the lack of foreign direct investments (FDI) in The Gambia as a result of the banditry of Yaya Jammeh, the President has resorted to a silly game of announcing phantom investments.  Jammeh's mouthpiece the Observer announced that "Canadian company to begin housing development in Gambia"http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/canadian-company-to-begin-housing-development-in-gambia .
According to this yarn, a company incongruously called "Management Holdings Limited (MHL)" is investing 40 million Euros in housing projects.

This is however just a show. No investor with 40 million Euros will be mad enough to invest such money in a country ruled by Yaya Jammeh. A simple Google search will show that no such company exists and that MHL is a figment of the Kanilai Monster's uneducated imagination. A country in which investors are arrested, charged with bogus crimes and have their assets stolen by the head of state will never attract investors. This fact does not seem to have entered into the small reptilian brain of the Kanilai Monster.

If you remember, this is the same game he had played in December 2010 when he announced a billion dollar "investment" by yet another phantom organization http://www.statehouse.gm/Qatar-intl-group-architects_08122010.htm .

When this announcement was made I wrote in Freedom to inform people that this is a lie meant to fool naive people that there are people still willing to invest in Jammeh's gangland. Since this announcement not a single brick of investment has been made. The sad fact for Jammeh is that his game is up.

Investors around the world know that he is a gangster who is only interested in lining his pocket and is a common criminal who finds himself as the President of a terrified and traumatized country.  A liar who claims to have found a cure for HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, high blood pressure can never expect investors to take him seriously.  Jammeh has no credibility as a President.

Even as you read this, Jammeh has sent his hapless Ministers to countries all around the world to try and get some respectful Presidents to come attend his coronation. Ministers including Ousman Sonko, Mamburray Njie, and Kabba Bajo are all travelling around with invitations.

No one wants to be associated with the Kanilai Monster. He has had to resort to openly trying to bribe these Presidents by offering to pay for their expenses.  The budget for the inauguration alone is about $10 million which is about 5% of the entire national budget.

Gambians need to know that unless they tackle Jammeh, the country will continue to be the laughingstock of the world. The Kanilai Monster deserves the same fate as Samuel Doe and Muamar Ghaddafi.
