Editorial: Jammeh’s Inauguration Characterized By Jolla Idol Worshipping!
The recent inauguration of Gambia’s iron fist dictator Yahya Jammeh as the country’s fourth term President was characterized by an interesting Jolla idol worshipping. Heads of state and other important guests from the continent were taken aback by the spiritual sacrifices that preceded the Jammeh swearing ceremony.
Momodou Sanyang of GRTS said the exercise was a symbolic Jolla cultural tradition that was meant for the ordaining of a King. Jolla women could be seen exposing their body while performing ritual prayers. Men Jolla folks dressed in red like African “ninger” going for a war. Gun shots were fired, and animals sacrificed before Jammeh formally took the swearing podium to be sworn in by the mercenary Nigerian so called Chief Justice Agim.
The Gambian monster as usual made an undertaken through a solemn oath to defend and safeguard the country’s supreme law—the constitution, which Mr. Jammeh treats over the years as his toilet paper. His flagrant disrespect and disregard for the constitution is evident on Jammeh’s global trademark for his lack of respect for human rights, justice, rule of law and the basic tenets of governance.
To us here at the Freedom Newspaper, it’s a waste of time and state resources to expose this fool and tyrant called Yahya Jammeh to an oath of office when he routinely undermine his toilet paper constitution. We know for a fact that it’s a constitutional mandate for the head of state to be sworn in, but the bottom line is that there is no constitution in the Gambia.
For our brainless and idiotic Jammeh, he thinks that he owns the constitution, the country, its verse land, animals, and her people. That’s why he is able to run a one man “government” all these years without proper checks and balances.
In that, the three arms of Government: the judiciary, legislature and the Executive are not separable. The dictator has a total monopoly of the three branches of Government. He steals from us, kill our people, loot our resources and siphoned state funds to foreign bank accounts and nobody dares put him on check.
Jammeh is doubling as a business tycoon—while at the same time running the state, which is a direct conflict with the dictates of the dictator’s own “toilet constitution.” Mr. Jammeh’s conduct has brought disrepute to the office of the President. It’s only in the Gambia that a “head of state” can engage in such a conflict of interest business ventures and get away with it.
Yet again, as the saying goes: Each country deserves its own leader. Gambians by default are seemingly okay with Jammeh’s corruption culture and abuse of office. They don’t seem to have problem with Jammeh behaving extra-judicially. It’s okay for them for Jammeh to break the law and turn around use his Nigerian mercenary thug judges to falsely jail his citizens on trumped up charges.
Yes, impunity is condoned in the Gambia. People in this country believe that Jammeh is above the law. From our so called elites to the poor farmer in the upcountry is disinterested about the activities and conduct of their “President.” They only cry foul when the dictator goes after their own people.
As long as they are not affected by the despot’s terror campaign, they careless about what goes around in the country. This is a country of the survival of the fittest. May God save the country from Jammeh’s decadence.
