General Yankuba Drammeh Yanked To The Gambian Mission In New York!
Lamin Fatty Bounces Back At The UN
Last week the Freedom Newspaper reported about the plight of the recalled former Gambian Diplomat at the United Nations Lamin Fatty, and the President Yahya Jammeh responded without delay by reassigning Fatty to his previous Consular position at the UN, after weeks of uncertainty about his fate, following his recall from New York, this news medium can report. Mr. Fatty arrived in the US this past weekend.
There is a minor reshuffle in Gambia’s the Foreign Service Mission. Former Army General, and Deputy Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) Yankuba Drammeh, who heads the Gambian Mission in Turkey, has been moved to the Gambia Mission at the UN. Mr. Drammeh has been relegated to the position of Deputy Ambassador, sources familiar with the story said.
Yankuba Touray, who was recently appointed Gambia’s High Commissioner to Senegal, has been reassigned to Sierra Leone, while Jatto Sillah, who was billed to head the Gambian Mission in Freetown has been assigned to Guinea Bissau. Mass Axi Gye, the erstwhile Ambassador in Guinea Bissau will replace Yankuba Touray, in Dakar, Senegal.
