Open Invitation

July 11, 2006

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The UDP/ NRP Alliance New York City wish to invite you to a meeting with the National Reconciliation Party’s Secretary General & Party leader Hon. Hamat Bah this Sunday, July 16, 2006. Time, 4:00PM-9:00PM. The venue is at the GAMBIA SOCIETY HALL, 1230 Jerome Avenue, Between 167 and Jerome Avenue, Bronx. PH: (718) 293-05500

This principal aim of this meeting is to foster a mature, positive dialogue and understanding between Mr. Bah, Gambians and friends of the Gambia abroad. The presidential election is less than seven weeks and we all know the political situation in The Gambia is still uncertain and unstable.

The democratization of our political parties must be a priority in the effects to restore public confidence in parties and the democratic process as a whole. Greater citizen participation, accountability of leadership, and institution safeguards are more important today than ever for our democratization effort to succeed. The expression of conflicting viewpoints exchanges can actually help to create a better understanding of the issues and to identify solutions. These exchanges can lead to the attainment of a workable compromise or tangible results for our nation.

We would be grateful if you spare some of your time to participate in the last but not the list meeting with Mr. Bah before the September 22, presidential election.

We look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely,
Saihou Mballow
Coordinator
