Dear Pa

I wish to counter-react to what PK Jarjue reaction to
your news article. PK and I are both from the same
part of the Gambia, we grew up together and have both
played on the same grounds. Me and PK later both
worked in the Gambia as Journalists and even here in
the UK, me and PK are closed friends, not long ago we
even went to Works night club together in Birmingham,
UK, sharing some childhood memories together!
Fraternally, me and PK are more than friends we are
brothers! However, politically, for me it is one of
the legacies of the Dictator Yahya Jammeh’s regime,
that is manifested between me and PK’s political
affiliation, the division which separated us is not
that of politics but tribe!

The image “http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1720000/images/_1723262_udpdarboe150.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. The image “http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/1600000/images/_1600624_jammeh-150-bbc.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

PK knows as well as I do that the only reason why two
people so close as me and him are still far away from
each other in thoughts, when it comes to discussing
the future of our country is because of Jammeh. Yet PK
wants to praise such an enemy of us to the world. I
find it stupefying why such an intelligent guy like PK
would let himself be used by Jammeh, after all that he
had known and reported about the regime. How can PK
try to sell the records of a regime that has so much
Gambian blood on its hands as if they are saints?

PK stated that Jammeh’s regime has increased the
socio-economic development of the Gambia. I think me
and PK are from different Gambia’s, because he is
definitely talking about a different Gambia, not the
Gambia that I am from. Or may be by coming from
different tribes in the Gambia make us to come from
different countries; because the Gambia that I know of
is at present experiencing its worst socio-economic
crises. The prices of the local commodities are at
their highest, unaffordable by the majority who used
to take such commodities for granted. The local
population marginalized into abstract poverty
everyday!

PK also asserted that Jammeh will win the upcoming
election for the reasons of these socio-economic
developments he is claiming; well I really think PK is
confused! Because Jammeh has not done any such
development and neither he nor Jammeh nor anyone else
can claim that this will be the reason why Jammeh will
win the next election. We all know what Jammeh will do
to win the next election and that is to use his thug
blood tasty military to suppress, oppress and
intimidate the already helpless and terrified people
of the Gambia, in order to stay at pinnacle of power
in our tiny impoverished nation.

As long as Jammeh stays in power the truth will always
be disguised along the tribal lines in the Gambia; so
that the truth that me and others will see happening
in the Gambia; PK and Jammeh will be blinded to see
that truth! That is why PK is not reckoning the
sufferings of the majority Gambians, the lack of
justice for the murdered students, soldiers,
politicians some whom are still in incarceration for
crimes the have never committed. Instead PK and
friends are seeing only cement blocks and concrete
standing at the gate of Banjul and they called that
development. What about the human sufferings and the
lost lives are we comparing lives with money now?

Jammeh is bad and the only thing he can be other than
that is worse and worst.

Finally to remind PK just because Lawyer Darboe thanks
Yahya Jammeh for victory and conceded defeat does not
necessarily means the election was free and fair. The
days of free and fair are dead under Jammeh.
