Minteh Touray, the wife of Gambia's disgraced Agriculture Minister and
chief APRC propagandist Yankuba Touray, has finally given birth to a
baby boy.MS.Touray who arrives here several months before her delivery
gave birth at a Raleigh hospital. As usual, they declared
medicare, while Yanks is expected to pay her hospital admission fees.
If our story is false, we invite MS Minteh and her husband to sue us to
court. We are ready to defend our story come what may. We know why
Yankuba Touray has been quiet these days. He told one of his mutual
friends that the Freedom Newspaper spoiled his wife's future visits to
the US, following our revelations that they duped the US health
delivery system on their faked medicare declarations. Shortly after our
story on Mami Touray's numerous visits to deliver in the US, Yanks
advised his wife to move from her original Raleigh, residence to a new
address to prevent health officials from discovering her repeated usage
of that address. She later moved to a new apartment, where she stayed
up to her delivery. This was the address she gave to hospital
authorities in her bid to declare medicare. Unpaid medicare bills
declared by such corrupt ministers wives is usually paid for by us the
US tax payers.
  
How long will the stealing of public funds end Yankuba Jali Maginokos Touray?
While in the US, Mami traveled with her son
Muhammed Touray, who was placed at a day care centre in some occasions,
if she visits local hair braiders to earn a living. We heard local
braiders saying that "Kee Jabarri Ministertal sa Gambi" meaning that
"she is the wife of a Gambian" minister.She also came with a large
quantity of African fish locally called "Geejah." This is the type of
system we had in The Gambia. Their wives comes to the US on the pretext
of private visit, while they are here to work. Let Yanks and his people
call us names, but we must perform our required journalistic work.
Daycare is very expensive in the US and we wondered how on earth Mami
Touray manages to pay such expensive bills. In some Daycare centres,
kids are charged between $150 to $200 dollars per week. This is a salary
of a first Secretary at the State House in Banjul. Her monthly Dacare
bills is more than Yankuba Touray's salary as a Minister.
Minister Touray has no moral authority to preach to Gambians about decency
when he is dirty and corrupt. The Freedom Newspaper cannot be liked by
Jammeh's government because we expose graft and other social vices
affecting our country.
Majority of the Ministers wives who came to deliver here don't pay their hospital admission fees, which in some instances totalled to $10,000 US dollars.Shortly after their discharge from hospital, they hurriedly left the country weeks later, leaving such bills unpaid. Under normal circumstances, such bills should be paid, but they bothered not to pay such hospital bills.
When this paper started reporting about
Mami Touray's medicare fraud, some folks said we might spoil the
chances of other Gambians trying to travel here to deliver. But what
these folks failed to realize is that the public interest overrides
private interest.The press will be doing disservice to its readers and
the Gambia as a nation if we fail to expose corrupt Ministers like
Yankuba Touray using tax payers money to bring their wives to come and
deliver in the US. We have no problem with private citizens coming here
to deliver. They used their hard earned money to travel to abroad. If
Yanks Touray was not in government, we will not be interested about
what he does and what not. Period. As far as we are concerned, Yankuba
Touray has no private life. He is accountable to you and I. We are
paying him.
It would be recalled that the Freedom Newspaper
hackers complained about our numerous stories on the private life of
madam Touray and her husband inculding some government officials, which
they say was a breach of privacy. We maintain that public figures and
their spouses have no private life. We never regretted for one moment
for publishing the said pieces on corrupt Yankuba Touray and his wife.
It
is not yet clear if Yanks will organize a naming ceremony party for his
new son, but sources intimated that Mami in a span of five years she
succeeded in getting five kids. It is evident that Yanks Magginukas
Touray is a strong man. He gets a child every blessed year. Most of his
kids are American citizens. Sources hinted that the Minister's wife is
considering to make a break on her frequent maternal holiday. It is not
yet clear how Minister Touray is going to react to such a new birth
control initiated by Mami Minteh. It is wrong for Yanks to force his
wife to get a child every year. Birth control is very necessary
considering the country's growing population. In some civilized
countries, one cannot have more than five kids. This is basically
intended to make a healthy and progressive family.
The Freedom
Newspaper has gathered that Yankuba Touray risked to be replaced after
the elections, as Jammeh's own security agents are monitoring him these
days. Sources hinted that Touray is not trusted by the President since
he was brought up by former speaker Sheriff Dibba, who was recently
linked to the March abortive coup plot. The NIA is said to have opened
a file on Yankuba Touray and is busy investigating him. Touray himself
was said to have complained to a close relative that he was not
comfortable serving the state at this hour, as he was being routinely
monitored. The same Yanks Touray complained that he was being sidelined
on APRC party matters these days. His silence is not ordinary as many
people might take it to be. Look out for the next piece on Mami's
naming ceremony next week.
