DISMISSED ARMY OFFICERS ARRESTED!
By Officer Sunray
The arrest of Lt.Colonel Salifu Bojang, Major Musa Gibba, Lt.Ebrima Kujabi and Regimental sergeant Major (RSM) Suwaibou Ceesay have been authoritatively confirmed. These group of officers were part of Gamcoy 4 that served in Sudan Darfur six months ago prior to their arrest and detention at the officers' mess and SNCO senior non commission mess. They were kept at the Yundum barracks for the past six months without any charge or trial.
A week or so ago, they were freed and asked to report to the camp daily to be accounted for and these reporting they continued to obey until they got rearrested today.
Upon receipt of a phone call from the adjutant at the Yundum barracks that they must report back to the camp to receive their dismal letters from one officer Bakoreh from GAF Hq, all of them left for the barracks. They got arrested by the military police at AHQ and bundled into a waiting van and taken to mile two Remand Wing.
The reason for their arrest was not given and their families are yet to be notified .The Gambia armed forces act of 1985 and the Terms and condition of Service act 1993 clearly spelt out when and how officers and soldiers can be arrested or taken to trial, the continued detention of these personnel is a fragrant violation of their fundamental human rights and the high command of the armed officer and its commander-in-chief are therefore put on notice to respect and safeguard the freedom of these officers.
