JOURNALIST BROTHER ARRESTED BY GAMBIAN POLICE

Dear Pa,
On Friday 23rd November 2012, Two officials of the Gambia Police Force visited my compound in Ebo Town Serrekunda, located in the Kanifing Municipal Administrative area, requesting to know from my Family about my whereabouts or else they will be left with no options but to arrest my junior Brother Ousman Saidykhan for him to give my information to the authorities. He refused to go with them arguing that he does not know any information about me.

The Police promised to return for further information in relation to my whereabouts. To my dismay, my junior brother was arrested on SATURDAY 8th of DECEMBER 2012, for a reason best known to the authorities. He was first taken to the Kairaba Police Station for interrogation and was later transferred to the KOTU POLICE STATION IN KOTU. He has just graduated from High School and currently doing his own self employment job.

The police attempted to seize his money amounting to D3000 which was in his disposal during the course of his arrest and also, while he was detained in the police cells at the Kotu station. I have called my Family to make all effort and know the reason behind his arrest.
