Balla Jahumpa's talk show on Halifa was it not pre-emptive?
As soon as I sent my email to the freedom newspaper from Kanifing I stayed on line to only to see more crazy stuff from the daily observer.Balla was irate and drunk as usual.What Balla failed to realize was'he showered good credentials on Halifa Sallah.He referred to the criteria on the NADD MOU as something that suits Halifa exactly.Done deal for NADD then Balla! The criteria on that MOU is so good.The moment it fits anyone indicates that person must be so good.
Anyone can bet on that one.That is,if the NADD MOU was to be used to measure who fits or does not fit the cap within APRC,non amongst Balla's friends would have qualified for the post of a flag bearer. What a coincidence! Balla brought NADD luck with his wide mouth.Halifa has finally confirmed the existing nightmare for President Jammeh.
The APRC's final try could not work,this time.
APRC has been using all the state resources at its disposal to disintegrate NADD.In some instances they sent cheap shots and low blows but never could they predict anything serious.Boom! all of a sudden Halifa is up on the screen now.APRC wanted to use the same tactics as before when Balla Jahumpa said his rubbish on the daily observer yesterday.You know what? these goons knew very well that, the end was nearer than they thought.Of course everyone knew or at least suspected that Waa Juwara was using tactics this time.
I heard it from reliable sources.Mbarodi will not relinquish his principles all of a sudden.Him bidding for the NADD flag bearer position was good in my book.This was meant to show everyone including Halifa that being NADD's flag bearer is not cheap.This is what democracy is all about.
Indeed a person of Sallah's calibre can shake the APRC so much.Now that we have all these powerful and experienced politicians ringing their bells,Gambia is beginning a new day.As Deyda Hydara used to say during his old program on radio Syd..." A new day is born..."Today I am invited by youths who want to celebrate Halifa's nomination.These youths see him as their mentor.We will be doing what is locally known as TDB-Till day break.
No secret agents please.People are so happy this evening.Thinking about the Sinchu Alhaji meeting with Hamat and Ousainou,thinking about OJ's matured speech,thinking about Waa Juwara's decision to also step aside,thinking about the news from the NADD bureau this evening... who is not happy today?The Jahumpas and Mam Sait Ceesay maybe.

At least we can say for certain that many civil servants danced in hiding when the news from NADD's bureau hit the streets.No one dares mention their names but they know who they are.Even members of the armed forces were jubilating.I heard a soldier say this..."If these people succeed and Jammeh wants to force himself on us,he will see hell..." The African Union will be so glad to hear the news too.
We were told by a close confidant and a diplomat from a foreign that NADD's naming of a flag bearer at this hour is good.So far two diplomats have said something about the latest news.One is African and the other is from the West,their names cannot be divulged here.They may suffer the same fate Bharat Joshi-The British diplomat went through before the 2001 elections. These days Jammeh will not hesitate to monitor any foreign diplomat.
I will be meeting one of them on Saturday to discuss issues of importance. NADD will be receiving a lot of help from hidden channels which some of them already know about. They know that Jammeh too leans on Taiwan. 2006 elections are going to be a landmark in Gambian history.
