Mr Non Grey-hair critic, Yero Jallow (Dalton) got it all wrong! Mr Non Grey-hair critic, Yero Jallow (Dalton) got it all wrong!
By Yankuba Darboe LLB (Hons)
What Mr Dalton Yero Jallow, the non grey hair man I suppose, is claiming in his reaction to both my article and Mathew K Jallow’s, is that which we have been hearing over and over again from the new NADD and its cult followers like him for a long time. They want us to believe that socialism and not democracy should choose the leadership of NADD. So that every one is equal in NADD and from then on, we can negotiate who leads the party, the comrade style of selecting a leader. Mr Dalton or whoever you called yourself, Gambia is a democratic state and not a socialist state. We choose our leaders not by negotiation but by the majority. This is where your socialist NADD became confusing to the United Democratic Party and NRP.

Mr Non Grey-hair man Yero Jallow, why create NADD like a socialist party alliance if you want democratic parties to be part of it? And why made it in a democratic country, are you confused; it is the Gambia not Russia or Cuba. Tell me Mr Dalton, how democratic is it for Halifa, a man with no party in an alliance of political parties not individuals; end up being the leader of NADD. May be you don’t know but I will tell you, may be you are not familiar with the traits of socialism. In socialism leadership is not decided by majority votes, but by popularity or status of the individuals in the party. Now do you know who was the face of NADD? It was Halifa Sallah, the coordinator and the spokesperson. Now compare that to how Lennon and Staling came power in the soviet union of Russia. I will tell you this history if you want to disagree with me.
Now can I crave your indulgence to tell you and your so called professor, Halifa Sallah of how political alliances like NADD are formed in democratic states. I know about a lot; but I will make it simple for you Mr. Yero, the Gainako manager. I will give you an example of a closed by nation called Senegal. Do you know how they did it there? Well this is how they did it, Abdoulaye Wade the leader of the majority political party of their political alliance, SDP, led the coalition that evicted Abdou Diouf from power. I forgot the year this happened but, even though you are not grey haired yet, I think you were old enough to remember that, don’t you. However, if you don’t I can do some research for you about it.
This was what confused lawyer Darboe to claim that he was not trusted by your socialist NADD. This is true because if the Senegalese political alliance trusted the Socialist Democratic Party leader, Abdoulaye Wade, who lead the majority party of that coalition to lead their alliance, without drafting a very complicated memorandum of misunderstanding; how come a similar political alliance in the Gambia, a sister country, cannot trust the leader of their majority political party of the alliance to lead. Will you be available, Mr Dalton, to deny the fact that you yourself, Mr. non grey hair man, do not trust lawyer Darboe to lead NADD. If I may quote from your own writing; “In such an agenda, one is also expected to dwell on the term limit of the presidency, and honesty this will put a check to impunity, and arrogance by any future leader”. Tell me why do you need to say this; don’t you trust Lawyer Darboe not to immune himself from the rule of law, arrogant and stay in power beyond the presidential term limit, like Yahya Jammeh.
Mr. Non Grey-hair man, I think Mathew K Jallow, the Grey hair man, is telling the truth than you. Don’t tell me you are a journalist and followed your ethical code of practice, because you don’t have ethics neither do you follow them. You have just read Lamin Waa Juwara’s comments about Lawyer Darboe, however, you were able to snub that but find it hard to snub me and mathew’s comment’s. You do not think that Waa’s comments would cause any difficulty in bringing the dead NADD alive, but you have every right to accuse me and Mathew for trying to destroy any chances of bringing NADD together. Good ethical journalism shown by you Yero Jallow.
So what makes you think Halifa will obey the memorandum of NADD and Lawyer Darboe will not. And what makes you think that even if we put Halifa to lead NADD he would not change the presidential term limit stated in the NADD memorandum to suit his own desires. Mr. Non Grey Hair man what is your assurance that Halifa would not do this. Even though you are given him a blank check to change the constitution, not before he becomes Mr. President but after he becomes it. Mr. Dalton, you cannot wash our faces for us, what do you think we are.
Mr. Dalton don’t you people supporting NADD know that you are arguing on an empty ground and Gambians are no fools! You can carry on not trusting Lawyer Darboe to lead NADD, but you can’t convince us that NADD is not dead and that Halifa is its leader, be informed your afro man is leading a socialist NADD in a democratic country.
And be warned that freedom newspaper is not the independent newspaper, which you were once managing director of. You can control the input and out put of that paper but not this one! If you want to tell the truth, don’t beat the bush; just come straight to the point. You and Waa Juwara are crying; because you would love to see lawyer Darboe supporting Halifa to become Mr. President, but you hate to see, the other way around, that is you don’t want to see Halifa supporting Darboe to become president. One last thing, can you tell me what makes Halifa a saint and Ousainou Darboe a villain. Let me tell you, the UDP needs NRP and not NADD.
I have you on record for insulting Pa Kalifa Sanyang’s parents, but if you insult my parents, yours won’t be spared, so be warned. This is adult conversation.
