Sabally the fake politician that never was-The PPP old guards are responsible for Gambia's political crisis today.Waa Juwara is now vindicated about what he said about the Saihou Sabally and the PPP.
 Horomsi:Gambia's
Vice President in the First Republic Saihou Sabally was Gambia's
guest, when the plane he was traveling with made an emergency landing
at the Banjul International airport. Mr.Sabally who left UK for Dakar
recently later found himself in Banjul, a country he abandoned for the
past 12 years in fear of political persecution. As we piece up this piece together, Saihou Sabally is said to be in the UK again. Saihou was one of those
PPP officials who fled Banjul on board a US Navy Ship when former army
officers led by then Lieutenant Yahya Jammeh toppled the democratically
elected government of Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara. As usual NIA agents
walked into the aircraft only to see the unexpected guest. Saihou who
appeared focused was patiently seated in the aircraft. Horomsi gathered
that the NIA were told by local airline agents that passengers on
board the said flight including Saihou Sabally were not destined to
land in the Gambia and should not be asked to leave the aircraft. After
sometime the said flight left Banjul for Dakar. Saihou never disembark
from the flight. Horomsi gathered that the NIA at the airport were
debating among themselves as to what line of action they should take.
Detaining Sabally was going to be viewed as an abduction. Sabally never
booked to travel to Banjul anyway.
He unexpectedly found himself in a
country he dared not to step his foot. Jammeh and his killers over the
years had been trailing him. They tried in many ways to get the man to
return home in the name of so called amnesty they extended to Jawara,
but Saihou Sabally refused. The situation was beyond his control.
Horomsi was told that the NIA officers at first planned to detain
Sabally, but only to be told that such a move was a violation of
aviation treaties which the Gambia was a signatory to. They later
downplayed their move and pretended as if they wanted to inspect the
aircraft. Boy Harry Sambou was bluffing all around with his cell phone.
Perhaps, he was talking to the so called big man. Our security forces
are very ignorant and needs to be trained on issues relating to
international law and aviation matters. In as much as Jammeh is thirsty
for Saihou Sabally's blood he should hold his horse.
The
airline company in question was responsible for Saihou and all the
other passengers about their safety and well-being at the material
time. Jammeh should wake up from his slumber. I'm pretty sure that
Jammeh is praying for some of his critics residing abroad to land in
Banjul just like in the case of Saihou Sabally. Perhaps, he will use
the grilling machines Tijan Ceesay alias Ecobompa,Lamin Sanyang alias
Sabbi and embassy staff sent him recently to eat us. Jammeh said he
will personally deal with Haromsi, Bufaaleh and Freedom Newspaper
editorial staff. Jammeh should know that only God can decide one's fate
and not a rat like him. Some of us will one day witness his jailing.
Jammeh got to be very careful. His madness is getting out of hand.
Under international law, he has no rights whatsoever to question or
arrest people who transited through the Gambia on emergency landing. He
cannot do that. At that movement Saihou has all rights to use the
airport facilities to reach to his loved ones within and outside the
Gambia. What happens to Saihou could have happened to anyone.
The
Daily Obsever with all their noises could not pick up the said story. I
can bet that the Observer will never publish the said piece. Boy Harry,
must have issued an embargo for the said piece not to be published.
They cite security issues in situations like this. Saihou Sabally
landing in the Gambia is a big news. Horomsi is reporting it today. It
is up to Saihou Sabally to clear the air and tell us what happens.
Saihou Sabally in America and London
Saihou
was in New York some weeks ago. He is said to be in the United Kingdom
at the moment. A source close to his family told us that Saihou is in
the UK at the moment. His Banjul plane emergency landing came as a
surprise to them. But how come that Banjul airport staff can reveal the
story to Horomsi and yet they are not in the picture? Sabally must be
down playing the story to his loved ones. But this is a true story.
Saihou Sabally retired from politics????
Saihou
Sabally was one of those big political heavy weights in Jawara regime.
The people of Sanjal listened to the man like their God father. Saihou
all of a sudden disappeared from the political scene when Jawara was
toppled. Call him a part time politician you make no mistake. Saihou's
involvement in politics is questionable. The man joined politics for
monetary reasons and not based on principles. If Saihou was committed
to what he preached to us over the years he would have been part of the
struggle at this hour. But wonders never cease. These are the very
people who helped Jawara to wreck our country. Now they are settling
comfortably abroad with their families. The Gambian people cannot
forgive the likes of Saihou Sabally, who put us into all this mess we
found ourselves as a nation. If Omar Amadou Jallow OJ, Landing Jallow
Sonko, Yahya Ceesay and others can speak out against Jammeh, what is
Saihou waiting for? He being away from home doesn't disqualify him from
being capable of joining his colleagues in the struggle. It is unfair
for Saihou to play low profile at this hour, when the Gambia is almost in flames. He is needed by the opposition for
advise and counseling. Some of us who looked up to him as a father
figure are disappointed in view of his unfinished political holiday.
Saihou need to tell us why he joined politics over the years. Was it
for commercial purposes or on principles. People committed to their
profession never abandoned their trade no matter how tough the road is.
They prefer to die with their followers during their quest for freedom.
The type of Saihou Sabally could be best described as "seasonal"
politician without direction. They quit when things gets tougher.
Saihou needs to follow the foot steps of Malcom X, Nelson Mandela,
Kuwaimi Kuruma and other freedom fighters. These individuals never
abandoned their people in times of difficulty. They pursued their
course up to their last breathe. This is what we expect from Saihou.
Waa Juwara the politician who worth his salt.
When
the likes of Saihou Sabally started embezzling public funds in the
open, Lamin Waa Juwara widely called a trouble maker could not
withstand it. Even though he was originally from the Niaminas, Waa
Juwara contested against Saihou at some point. This demonstrated how
Mbarodi is committed to his political profession, unlike Sabally and
co who are out to enrich themselves. Juwara never run to leave his people back. He suffered torurture, arrests and narrowly escapes Jammeh's past plots to kill him. Waa is one of the politicians who worth his salt. This man is not in politics for money or name. He joined politics for good reasons. Looking at these horrible torture pictures of Juwara, want will begin to ask if Juwara is the only politician in the Gambia. This man is a true son of the soil who is ready to put his life on the line to restore democracy in our country. This is what decent minds expect from Saihou Sabally and not his silence attitude. Sabally has turned his back to
Gambians, even though he contributed to Jawara's down fall directly or
indirectly. Sabally was one of Jawara's pet boys in those days. He was
one of those who appealed to Jawara to give up his Mansakonko
resignation bombshell. Jawara wanted to leave at the time, but the
likes of Sabally cried to beg Jawara to revisit his move. Today, we are
paying for the price, with having dictator Jammeh at the state house.
The likes of Saihou Sabally should not be counted as a serious
politician. They entered into politics to line up their pockets to the
detriment of our impoverished men and women. Gambians cannot forget
the PPP mess. The same PPP old guards are today running after Jammeh
and the opposition UDP in a bid to cause confusion in our country.
Lawyer Darboe was doing fine when he started his party, but he seems to
be remote controlled by these political sell outs who have nothing to
offer today. They are spent forces. Gambia's present and future crisis
can largely be attributable to the old guard. They put us in this mess.
Saihou Sabally the fake politician that never was is currently in the
UK. Horomsi was away but is back. Saihou Sabally is free to set the
records if he wants. We harbored no grudges against him. |
