paper's reporters are working tirelessly to make sure that the APRC's
emissaries are not using our national coffers to sell their agenda
within our midst. These efforts are not going in vain. A couple
of minutes ago our news room got the final pieces together. On the
whole Omar Faye of all people was calling his old buddies in the USA
here from The Gambia well before he arrived. The purpose of his endless
calls was to make sure that he could come without any major incident
taking place. If the APRC is that popular then why would Faye be so
concerned about his coming to meet these people Tijan Ceesay calls
sympathizers? Why on earth?
What will gorgi Fye tell Jammeh when
he returns home?
The concrete facts gathered about Faye's calls:-
Omar
Faye can never deny he called people like Kebba Jallow the former
chairman KMC. He also called other old friends in Atlanta to make sure
he had these people on his side or at least feel them before arriving.
Anyone who knows Kebba Jallow will not doubt his sincerity towards OJ.
So calling Kebba Jallow was a non starter. Omar Faye's call to Kebba
Jallow excited these guys so much. The over excited APRC's bunch of
fools went ahead using this as a rumour during their barbecue in
Maryland. This is the real source of the rumour on "OJ trying to defect
from NADD to join the APRC" OJ Jallow defecting to join the APRC? We do
not pray for that to happen because it will mean OJ has a mental
problem. We do not want OJ to be mentally ill because he is a good
asset for our country. Kebba Jallow has to watch out and know which
caller he receives. These are desperate days for the APRC. Their
endless calls to people they call natural friends are not genuine.
Kebba certainly would have simply answered Omar's call because it is
natural and very much Gambian to do so. But in this case he has to know
that he is not dealing with natural and decent people. They are
frustrated fools who would use any little chance to impress their boss
Yaya. This is also a warning to those who think Omar Faye is calling
them as a natural brother and a friend. He is not. Most of these calls
may even be put on three way with Yaya himself only to impress him more.
Our
good sources have already gathered real facts on these Omar Faye-Tijan
Ceesay calls around town. They will be shocked when we start releasing
their messages on line verbatim. In fact what should Omar and Tijan
expect from us other than that? This paper is being called all sorts of
names because it does not send the dirt from state house under the rug.
It says it as it is. Omar Faye and Tijan Ceesay will be surprised to
know that they were avoiding the freedompaper when other journalists
were there with this paper's reporters. Did they know anything about

Omar Faye why did you refuse to call Amadou Lowe?
It
is so disheartening when one sees or hears that Omar Faye of all people
is avoiding Amadou Lowe during this trip. This is so shameful to say
the least. Omar Faye visited Amadou Lowe on his last day before he
finally left for The Gambia. He knows the frank talk he had with Amadou
Lowe. Amadou Lowe told him the truth as it is. Omar even after reaching
Banjul was still communicating with Amadou Lowe. If he denies the facts
will be spread on line. Amadou Lowe is one hell of a frank brother who
cares less when it comes to speaking his mind. Omar Faye during this
trip decided to avoid Amadou Lowe. Instead he called Kebba Jallow
thinking that he can divide the opposition?
Amadou
Lowe,Kebba Jallow and their team cannot be separated. Omar Faye might
as well continue snubbing Amadou because he cannot impress Amadou
anyway. Omar Faye was Amadou Lowe's "Boy-Boy" during Amadou's days as
director of youths sports. Omar Faye is the last person who can impress
Amadou Lowe. Omar is not secure with people like Amadou because they
know a lot more about his job than he does. Amadou Lowe is a guru in
that field. He was groomed by people like Cherno Touray and Omar Sey.
Former President Jawara himself knows who Amadou Lowe is regarding this
field Omar has been appointed to handle.
Omar
Faye should not have taken this route at all. He knows very well that
his dossiers cannot be concealed. How on earth could this person think
about coming in here only to start castigating people who know
everything about his past life as an asylee? Especially when the
government he accused of wanting to persecute him is still in power?
Omar
cannot stay here all these years,decide all of a sudden to go back and
then wants to destroy the political career of people like OJ just like
that and then expect OJ's supporters to stay mute. He has more to be
revealed than OJ does. OJ has from the onset been an opponent,he chose
to stay an opponent all these years. Where was Omar Faye when OJ and
his colleagues were being tortured at Bakau? Omar ran away and stayed
in Atlanta. He said Singhatey wanted to kill him. After 11 years Omar
decided to go home? And then be more patriotic than Singhatey? Omar
Faye please leave people alone. Stop it and go home please.
In
another development, the Freedom Newspaper contacted Kebba Jallow to
authenticate our reporter's piece and he confirmed that he was indeed
telephoned by Omar Fye. " Yes, Omar Fye did called me when he came to
Atlanta. He called to check on me and my family. Omar is my good
friend." Said the former Kanifing Municipal Chairman in the first
Republic.
When asked if he was surprised to receive a phone
call from Omar Fye, a man who dine with Jammeh these days, Jallow
replied in the negative. " Omar is a longtime friend and I was not the
least surprised about his call. I harbored no grudges against Omar
Fye. It is unfortunate that he joins the wrong people. I'm opposed to
that group, which is the APRC." Jallow posited.
Reacting to
wild rumours that OJ was on the verge of joining the APRC, Kebba
Jallow rubbishes such reports charging that it is the APRC who are
circulating such false and malicious rumours. "If OJ should defect to
the APRC,then that is the end of truth in life. OJ will never and I
repeat never, ever joins APRC. It might be APRC propaganda machine that
is trying to cause confusion among the opposition. OJ is fighting to
change a corrupt system of government in the Gambia. No matter how long
it takes,OJ will always oppose the APRC regime. The report is baseless
and inconsiderate."he told the Freedom Newspaper on the line to Atlanta yesterday.
Mr.
Jallow also dispelled reports bandit by some APRC militants that
Atlanta was a stronghold for the ruling Party. Jallow says 90 percent
of the Gambian Atlanta community were Di heart opposition supporters
contrary to what was being bandit by the APRC. " I can count the number
of APRC supporters in Atlanta. They are few. Yahya Jammeh should come
to Atlanta to confirm for himself." said Jallow. Mr.Jallow says they
have no problem with Jammeh visiting Atlanta, but noted that Jammeh
should be ready to answer pressing questions from the opposition. He
said Gambians in Atlanta are loyal to the opposition no matter how the
APRC tries to distort the current state of affairs.
Omar
Fye is free to sell Jammeh's information to us. We at the Freedom
Newspaper are ready to give him platform to tell us the atrocities
committed by Jammeh while he was at the state house as Press Secretary.
In as much as, we are opposed to Fye, its seems that he is not isolating
his old friends like Kebba Jallow. But Fye picked and choose the people
he calls. How about his Raleigh friends? Fye should be real if he
wants to be taken seriously with his late night calls to check on his
former friends. We have no problem with Fye calling his friends, but it
should be across the board. He stands to be accused of hypocrisy by
sidelining the people he used to hang out with. These people feed and take care of him during his past visits. Fye should be grateful to these folks despite his sudden change of heart. Fye should borrow Jammeh's leaflet that the world is three days-today, tomorrow and yesterday. These were the folks who came to your mercy when Jammeh closed his doors at you. You sat together complaining about the dictatorship and the need for democratic change. But Fye has fogotten about those days or is he pretending to have forgotten.
