Speaking at the National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD’S first political rally in Brikama yesterday, the former flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Organization For Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) and an executive member of NADD Hon Sidia Jatta said NADD has come to stay adding "whether Gambians like it or not, we are here to rescue you the Gambians. "

We should now move away from the habit of rallying behind an individual and I am advising you not to rally behind me or any NADD executive as we cannot rescue you, rally behind NADD because NADD is not only we the executive but it is all of us and we all move together for a better tomorrow.
Hon Jatta the Wuli west parliamentarian also said it is only NADD that can develop the Gambia because” we have the knowledge and the commitment is there and insallah we will develop Gambia with your support come 2006.The founding father of the PDOIS also hinted on the groundnut season and queries why the government cannot buy the groundnuts from farmers?
He went further to reveal that in our national budget we have over 3 billion dalasi that is set for spending for the 2006 fiscal year and he suggested government to use that money and buy the groundnuts from farmers and the profit realized after reselling them be used to set up refining factories for the groundnut shells to be transformed into finish products that can be used in the country and reduce the importation burden on the government’s head.
Mr. Jatta said Government should use this money to buy the groundnuts and government should be in a better position to map out development strategies so as to create many factories for the younger generation. He went further to say if the government is properly using the money we have in our coffer Gambia needs not to take any loan any
more.
The outspoken politicians also hinted on the extravagant of the president and questioned the reason why the president is using the public funds to purchase expensive vehicles. He said the money used to buy those vehicles we see the last time can build more than 2 factories and each factory can employ more than 50 people. You Gambians put Jammeh in that place and you see him wasting you properties and you still wants him to stay and if he does in 2006.
"I promise Gambia will sink and we will all die because of hunger. Mr. Jatta described a NADD government as a government by partnership and said on NADD we did not believe in life style but for the transformation of the democratic process of our dear mother land the Gambia, long life NADD, Long life Democracy, long life Gambia" he concludes.
