How the APRC rigged the September 22nd 2006 election? Yaya Jammeh to win by a margin of at least 121,478 votes!
Shortly
after the subsequent voter registration exercise in July, the then IEC
boss, Mr. Ndondi Njie amazingly announced that 90,000 voters were
registered during the voter registration exercise. I do not have first
hand knowledge of those registered as I never had a face to face
contact with them. I presumed that a greater number of them are
non-Gambians, mostly members of Yaya Jammeh’s tribe’s men from
Cassamance. This is not a lecture, but would want to refer readers to
this simple statistics as basis of my argument. The total voter
population of the Gambia estimated to be about 500,000. Divide this by
3 candidates gives each at least 166,666. What will Yaya Jammeh and the
APRC gain, is subject of discussion.

Jammeh, Musa Jammeh far left, IGP Sonko behind him
and some junglers!!!
Gambisara
went through the UK Visas Global statistics of 2004-2005 report, it
revealed a staggering 16,501 visa applicants for various categories to
the United Kingdom . Out of this 10,178 visas were issued with a visa
to enter the UK . Out of this total, 5,478 were settlement,
non-settlement, work permit and students. Going by this statistics, at
least 5, 000 long term visas are usually issued annually. From the 2001
election to the forthcoming elections, its five years straight.
Multiply 5,000 by 4 years will sum up to 20,000 plus 5,478 who left the
country for the UK alone will result to 25,478 over the past 5 years.
Not mentioning the United States of America , the Political refugees in
Senegal who ran away from the murderous Jammeh regime, those behind
bars, those who died naturally and those will be sick on voting day,
etc.
Official
results declared in October 2001 gave Yaya Jammeh and the APRC 213,337
representing 52.76% of the votes cast. His closest rival, Lawyer
Ousainou Darboe had 133,590 representing 33.04% a difference of 99,
747. Going by events happening by the day in the country, the public
have lost confidence in President Yaya Jammeh and his APRC government
because of reasons best known to all Gambians. But will the September 22nd
votes reflect this reality is the main question. Are my fellow Gambians
ready for the much desired change? What will be the reactions of the
opposition leaders as to the legitimacy of the results?
In this piece, Gambisara predicts the result to be declared on September 23rd and will be in favor of the regime. How? Here we go!!!!
As
analysed earlier, we lost at least 25,478 eligible Gambian voters to
the UK only. I assume Senegal to host at least 25,000 voters, while the
USA hosts 15,000 eligible Gambian voters including Mr. Pa N’derry Mbai.
In these 3 countries, I got 65,478 eligible voters already missing. The
number of those allegedly killed by the security forces and those
behind bars in various locations, including Mile 2, Jeshwang and
Jangjangbureh Prisons are not counted here. Various locations, because
there exist secret prisons nowadays that the public do not know about.
I assume that those in these category may total to at least a 1, 000.
The count goes up again by a total of 66,478 votes that will be counted
by the IEC to support Yaya Jammeh and the APRC. This does not include
People who died naturally over the past five years and are valid
voter’s card holders. Counting that may give me at least another 10,000
deaths over the period. The count goes up again to 76,478 votes to be
counted in support of Jammeh. Adding at least 45,000 of the 90,000
votes registered during the supplement registration exercise conducted
by Mr. Crayol, then Vice Chairman of the IEC and Mr. Ndondi Njie’s
team, will sum up to a staggering 121,478
votes. No wonder Yaya Jammeh and the APRC are busy saying that the
election is a forgone conclusion. How can Yaya Jammeh be defeated in
this way? Not even mentioning those sycophants who will shift
allegiance to the APRC from the opposition like Mr. Njongi Touray of
NADD did?
Now
what can the opposition do hence its clear to them that it’s a simple
majority in method adopted by Yaya Jammeh through his lunatic bunch of
so-called MP’s headed by insignificant Churchill Baldeh and one eyed
Fabakary Tombong Jatta and co. in the National Assembly? The opposition
has failed me as a private Gambian and the rest of the Gambian people.
They could still do me and the rest of the Gambians a greater favor by
totally rejecting the result should Yaya Jammeh and the APRC be
declared victorious on September 23rd 2006
because the election is nowhere free and fair. Pre-election is the most
crucial period and that is totally flawed. Not to talk of post
elections as there will be numerous arrest and detentions during the
elections day as well as its aftermath.
- How will they (the opposition) accept the results if their supporters are behind bars?
- How will they (the opposition) accept the result if foreigners are brought in from Cassamance to vote for Jammeh?
- How will they (the opposition) accept the
result if the IEC is remote controlled by Yaya Jammeh and the APRC?
- How will they (the opposition) accept the result if the public media is controlled by the APRC?
- How
will they (the opposition) accept the result if Yaya Jammeh is
violating the Memorandum of understanding his APRC party signed
alongside other political parties?
The
whole world knows this fact because it’s not hidden. The Gambian people
will lend you (the opposition leaders) a hand if you are bold enough to
speak with a single voice and denounce the result. Though you have
failed to come under one umbrella to clearly send Yaya Jammeh and the
APRC packing from No. 1 Marina Parade by appointing a new Chief
Executive Officer of the Gambia as Mr. Jammeh is not suitable for the
position.
