Dr. Tamsir Mbowe Picked UP By Plain clothe Officers!

The Executive Director of the President’s Aids treatment Program Dr. Tamsir Mbowe has been picked up by plain clothe officers late Thursday for questioning, the Freedom Newspaper can report.  Mr. Mbowe, a Russian trained Gynecologist, who recently wedded a second wife,  has been detained at an undisclosed location.  The circumstances surrounding the controversial doctor’s arrest is unclear at this hour, but well placed sources in the heart of the Jammeh administration said Dr. Mbowe  is under custody. 

Having strongly rallied behind President Jammeh’s aids cure program, the onetime Health Minister’s disappearances is of concern to his family.  Sources said Dr. Mbowe’s family launched a frantic search of the former Presidential HIV/AIDS cure aide without success. They first visited the NIA Head Quarters in Banjul, where the agency denied detaining Mbowe.  NIA agents could not provide information as to the exact whereabouts of Dr. Mbowe. The family left the agency  with a heavy heart.

There are numerous secret detention locations in The Gambia.  Our source said he doesn’t want to speculate as to where Dr. Mbowe is held, but maintains that Mr. Mbowe was indeed picked up on Thursday.
