Exclusive Interview: I’m Not Afraid Of Prisons Or Death- Human Rights Lawyer Mai Fatty Declares!!!
“……..The United Nations Security council had never pronounced Baba Jobe guilty of arms trafficking or dealing in blood diamonds.”
“I’m not afraid of prisons or death in the defense of the barriers I believe in-that’s freedom, justice and equal opportunities for all Gambians, with prosperity in the sprit of democracy. From personal experience, I know what it takes, I know what it smells and the color of kill since school days. As a teenager, many, many years ago, through matured professional writer, as a student activist and human rights defender, I faced burden shattering batons of torture and dehumanization from some fellow Gambians in law enforcement. I experienced stigma, management stigma of false vicious allegations. The numerous encounters with conspiracy and betrayals from the least expected sources, I experienced untold agonies of intentional in section of dignity, indignity rather and of course the interesting drama of deprivation and poverty as a child, growing up in boils of rural Gambia. But nothing much bothers me any more. I have learned that if you surrendered to fear, there will be no end to it. Any patriot who is worth of his or her salt, must be prepared to risk his or her liberty or life to secure democracy, freedom and economic wellbeing of the citizenry. The people are no fools. Now, this is my objective and I make it as a Mission in my life to confront these issues wherever they appeared in the country.” These were the exact words of Gambia’s leading Human Rights Lawyer Mai Fatty. A Prayer for the Hopeful-A Short Story
By Baba Galleh Jallow
He sat there, watching, listening, thinking, and the tears rose like a hot fountain of grief from the depths of his heart and ran down the sides of his cheeks as those three words, those words of hope and power, those words of sense and sensibility, those words sang by men and women, adults and children who have much to look for, who dare to hope, sank into the depths of his soul. Yes we can, they sang, yes we can.

Dr. Ebrima Ceesay’s PHD Graduation Revisited
Bakary Barry
Doctor Manneh’s smear campaign case reminds me about Dr. Ebrima Ceesay. The same people who misled Lt.Colonel Sam Sarr spearheaded similar smear campaign against Dr. Ceesay. They said Ceesay was a school dropout from Latri-Kunda Secondary School. That, he was promoted as Daily Observer News Editor by Mr. Kenneth Y Best, without any formal journalistic qualifications.

Dr. Manneh Sees Real Smear Campaign!!! Why Should Gambians Believe Lt. Colonel Samsudeen Sarr Again!! Part One!!
By Bakary Barry.
It’s going to take a while before the erstwhile Army Commander Samsudeen Sarr, is going to regain his credibility. Mr. Sarr’s recent attempt to apologize to Dr. Manneh for erroneously doubting his credentials as a PHD graduate, clearly suggests that Sarr relied on “ agents of misinformation hell bent on smearing the image of Dr. Manneh.” Sarr needs to cross check his facts before penning them online. If Sam Sarr can report erroneous stories about Dr. Manneh, what is going to stop him from sugarcoating his recently published book titled "coup" in The Gambia? Remember that most of the accounts in that book were based on secondary evidence and not first class information. Let Sam prove me wrong if he feels that what I reported here is inaccurate. It’s time for stocktaking. Sam Sarr needs to be investigated since he is publishing misleading stories about the person of Dr.Manneh without any formal authentication. Thanks to Suntou Touray, Sam’s erroneous reportage on Dr. Manneh has been corrected. Sam says he reported wrong information about Dr. Manneh. He went to add that Dr. Manneh was the first black to receive a doctorate degree from Rutgers University. The same Sam Sarr questioned Dr.Manneh’s credentials online. Very interesting!!
