No Coup! No coup but....... Sunday, April 16, 2006 (366 reads)
BY Che Enesto
Fellow Gambians, I stand against any coup for a number reasons, not matter the circumstances it will difficult to justify a coup. Yesterday 15/04/2006, there was 10 000 man walk in solidarity with the APRC Government, the organizer should remember that "a coup is only illegal if it fails".To make coups unnecessary you must create a democratic order that is transparent where people can live without fear, ask question without fear and get correct answers without distortion.

RE:Be professionals-Christ George's opinion piece!!! Sunday, April 16, 2006 (335 reads)
BY SIAKA
Editor: Please allow me space to clear my chest as I cannot no longer bear the personal attack on the journalist of the Freedom newspaper. With reference to hypocrites like Christ George letter stating your reporting style lacks journalistic ethics laughter. Christ if you are blinded I want to tell you that there is genocide taking place in our country. Yaya is maiming, kidnapping Gambians on daily basis. These are the burning issues of the day in The Gambia not Pa Nderrys style of reporting.

THE UN, AU SHOULD TELL GAMBIANS WHY JAMMEH CANNOT JOINS TAYLOR ON CHARGES OF CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY Sunday, April 16, 2006 (412 reads)
BY JOURNALIST: YANKUBA JAMBANG
The United Nations and the African Union should tell Gambians why president Jammeh should not be indicted by the international court for crimes against humanity. The Gambia's dictator did alot together with Charles Taylor to fuel that horrific and senseless civil war in Sierraleone that claimed thousands of lives and maimed many more. It would be recalled that the UN imposed a travel ban on Charles Taylor and some important figures in his government some not far distant years ago. This same ban forbade Baba Jobe travelling outside the Gambia. Baba Jobe was closest to Yahya Jammeh and managed his personal aircraft "Millennium" air. Baba Jobe was untouchable until recently when Jammeh sacrificed him and got lucked up.

what goes around, comes around-JOURNALIST YANKUBA JAMBANG DECLARES!!!! Sunday, April 16, 2006 (384 reads)
BY JOURNALIST:YANKUBA JAMBANG
The recent events unfolding in the Gambia is a reminder that the evil men do will continue to live with them. Gambian political figures have decided to work for their selfish interests and shunned the very people they ought to help. SM Dibba, as you rightly put it, Pa, was so greedy that he allowed himself to be toyed with by Yahya Jammeh; a 'man' who does not know 'his' purpose on earth. He [Dibba] is now paying the price for his greed! Sit in cell Mr. Dibba. No more air conditioning, no more soft sofa and no more shiny government vehicle. ENJOY!!!

little sympathy for
the disgraced speaker

BY CHRIST GEORGE
Reading your stories, I sometimes feel like vomiting. I mean no offence to you, but you people are the least professional in your work as journalists. You people are completing working outside the four corners of the profession and I would advise you make an IMMEDIATE UTURN in the interest of our noble profession.

Daba Marenah and Co:The allegations of their escape has no substance!!! Sunday, April 16, 2006 (415 reads)
BY JOURNALIST:Gheran Senghore
The result reports of arrests in the aftermath of the alleged coup in The Gambia has become a call for concern for every Gambia at home and overseas. All of a sudden, its seems as if every prominent Gambian was in one way or the other involved in this alleged coup. If this was so, why did it take the government so long to uncover such an attempt, if it was so wide spread, why did the NIA not know about this.

Breaking News: S.M. Dibba expelled from APRC! Sunday, April 16, 2006 (281 reads)
BY Jibson Dukureh
Freedom News Paper,
Refers to the above captioned subject published by your paper today which was reported by E. G. Sankara, either I am confused with the report or there is inconsistency. (1) Is it that S.M. Dibba has been expelled in the National Assembly as speaker or from APRC? My understanding is that he is not a member of APRC but merged with the latter for coalition.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' President Jammeh's media campaign is being shattered. Sunday, April 16, 2006 (341 reads)
This is what our old guard in Banjul used to call....."Monkey work Baboo Chop"
A plantation in Africa in 2006? Who are the workers? Africans themselves.Who is forcing them to work? A Gambian King called President. When foreigners visit The Gambia they are shown around by hoteliers and Safari tours. They are fed with wrong, correct or exaggerated information. But there are out going tourists who do not take in everything they are told as gullible people do.This is why President Jammeh's campaigns are not too sure of themselves.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' 10,000 March not pupularity at all. Saturday, April 15, 2006 (437 reads)
Who organized the march?
There are three main figures in this affair. President Jammeh,Yankuba Touray and Majanko Samusa. After the cooked coup d'etat Yankuba came up with the idea, it was not popular from the beginning. It became a wild dream when Sheriff Dibba was arrested. Majanko Samusa joined hands with Yankuba as soon as Dibba was picked up to organize this noisy march. He became more active than Yankuba Touray in all this. Yankuba Touray has been lonely after FJC was suddenly shocked by Lai Conteh's arrest. This was a challenge for him because he had also promised President Jammeh that he could raise his popularity level higher than before. Therefore the coming of Majanko is good for Yankuba at this point but very bad for the APRC in months to come.
