Lang was arrested on his way back from a trip in Dakar Senegal. He was detained for five months at the Mile Two Prisons on allegations of economic crimes. While at the Mile Two, Lang was exposed to systematic torture by the State Guards led by the late Musa Jammeh. The President ordered for his torture and imprisonment.

By Sulayman Barry, Banjul.

People of The Gambia have been battling with price rise on basic commodities like rice and bread with tears without reporting to any quarters, The Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. Rice, which is the nation’s main staple food is out of reach. The average Gambian cannot afford the cost for a bag of rice, thus leaving many families to starve for days. Price for a bag of rice has been skyrocketing in the past couple of days. It has been going up to the detriment of the poor masses, who are not working nor farming at all.
