Freedom Newspaper is a " A Young University Of Ideas And Expressions"- Declares Ambassador Sey
……“Along these lines Pa Nderry Mbai and the staff of the freedomnewpaper are being called upon to stay focused! Building a nation is not sweet, it is tedious and challenging. Building a nation goes with checks and balances. Certainly journalism is an important organ in this area. Journalists are social watch dogs guarding social justice. No society has ever succeeded without journalists. When democracy is mentioned, journalism cannot be expunged. This is why the freedomnewspaper is so important for those who want to expose ideas and expressions.”
By Essa Bokarr SEY.
Freedomnewspaper's case reminds me about the following words:"...it is the end result that matters..." The end result has today shown us achievements within a rough terrain.

Freedom Newspaper Worth More than One Million Dollars- Reader Lamin Conteh Felicitates Freedom Staffers!!
By Lamin Conteh, UK
Hi Pa & the team,
My name is Lamin Conteh from the UK. I thought it’s worth writing these few lines to thank you very much for offering us to read your online paper. I must say this, reading your online daily news make my days goes quick. I have been reading your paper since day number one and I will always be reading it because you stand for freedom and the truth and not like that stupid Daily Observer. Your paper is worth more than a million dollar and I as a person cannot pay you for all your effort s in running this online paper. MBai you are a hero in your field, all got to do how you pin point everything that's goes on in the Gambia and telling your readers the true colors of the Gambian Government.
I know they have tried so many times to stop your paper from publishing and Tony (Daaba) Jammeh and his so called computer experts even went to the extent of blocking your IP address. Jammeh knew that this paper stands for Freedom of speech without no censorship.
My last words are: Long live Freedom Newspaper!!! And this one goes to TONY (DABAA) JAMMEH no matter what you do, you cannot stop this paper off air you don’t even have that power. Because Allah is always with the righteous people and that's what Freedom Newspaper stands for just incase you don’t know Mr. TONY (DABAA) JAMMEH your power hungriness would put you to hell because you had killed so many of our loved ones.

Editor Nderry and other members of staff, I want to congratulate you on the occasion of your leading Freedom Newspaper’s two year anniversary . Hitting the nail on the head , Mr. Nderry you have fearlessly sacrificed your life for every Gambian to enjoy the right of the Rule of law and positive news bulletins. You have empowered Gambians irrespective of party affiliations to express their views uncensored. Congratulations Nderry and the Freedom Newspaper Editorial Staff.
Even President Jammeh himself knows that your office has played a crucial role in National development. He cannot deny this fact !
To congratulate you further for the second year birth day of your online paper, I want to ask every Gambian to honestly answer to the following questions. Why is it that Yahya Jammeh is anti press freedom? Why is Jammeh denying citizens the right to freedom of movement and association?
The constitution guaranteed freedom of peaceful assembly, but Jammeh would not allow our people to demonstrate. Why should Jammeh threatens to deal with Gambians reading the Freedom Newspaper? Why is he denying our people not to read Freedom when he is reading it? against press freedom ? If he can prove to us that he is not a total dictator why is he denying freedom and the movements of the people ? Why is Jammeh denying our people not to read Freedom, when he is reading it every day?
Jammeh is a non believer who uses the Islam to baffle our people. Holding the Quran don’t make you a real Muslim. Jammeh is a fake and a non believer. He is not a Muslim as he claimed to be. A good Muslim don’t kills his people and killed Gambians. Jammeh is not a true democrat.
The time has come for Gambians to ask Jammeh where buried Daba Marena and four others. It’s a irrefutable evidence that Daba and others were killed by Jammeh’s boys. If Jammeh feels that he never masterminds the killing of Daba and others, let him tell the Gambian public the whereabouts of Daba and co.
Based on the information I gathered, the leader of that March coup Ndure Cham is in Dakar. He is in good health condition.
One simple question I have for Jammeh is: Will he like to be killed as he did to Daba and others? Will he Jammeh want to be killed as he did to other journalists?
Finally, I want to congratulate the Freedom Newspaper for the good work you have initiated. We are praying for you day and night. May God bless your paper and its staff. We wish you all the best.

The Freedom Newspaper have provided a platform to all Gambians in expressing themselves in matters of national importance. All what we the readership can say at this joyous time of the paper's existence, is a big thank you.
The editorial team is some times blame for being too harsh on the regime of Yahya Jammeh, but in reality ,the Freedom News paper do give the chance to every one in defending themselves if they feel unfairly treated. That includes the Government in the Gambia.
I specially thank you Mr. Editor for standing up for fairness and balance dealing in the past few weeks. God bless and stay focus.

Views Of Freedom Newspaper Fans Around West Field
As the Freedom Newspaper commemorate its two year anniversary today, our Banjul Bureau Chief Landing Badjie went around town to sample the views of Gambians about the Freedom Newspaper. The idea for this important opinion survey is to empower our readers to air their views about the Freedom Newspaper and what needs to be done to improve the leading paper. People from various walks of life, including APRC supporters participated in this survey. Interviewees say they don’t want their pictures to appear on Freedom for fear of reprisal from the state. The Gambian Public have spoken, Freedom is celebrating. Below is the random survey. Please read on….
………………………………................................
It was a sunny day at the West Field busy intersection. Travelers were busy boarding cars, while market vendors walked by. My first guest was Fodayba Samateh, an internet operator at West Field. I first asked him his views about the Freedom Newspaper since the paper is celebrating its two year anniversary. And this is what Fodayba Samateh had to say: I have been reading the Freedom Newspaper for two years now. The paper has been an excellent source of information for me. The factual aspect of this newspaper has made me love it more than our local newspapers. I have always got the news I wanted from this paper and I always code named it “Leading Newspaper with my friends.” Some times we only say Leading then they can understand. This is because the many expositions of the wrong doings that go on in a country where there is no freedom of speech, has been covered by other members of the media in the like of Observer Newspaper. We don't pay for news on the net but we get it and it is pertinent to know as it is happening.

A Happy Anniversary To Freedom-DA Jawo Writes!! Gambians Felicitate Freedom Newspaper! Saturday, February 02, 2008 (505 reads)
A Happy Anniversary To Freedom
D. A. Jawo, Ex-President, Gambia Press Union
I wish to join your numerous readers and well wishers in wishing the Freedom newspaper and its dedicated editorial staff a happy second anniversary.
Indeed, the existence of Freedom and the other online newspapers has made quite a significant contribution to the Gambian media landscape. With the media climate in the Gambia being not quite conducive for the dissemination of divergent views, Freedom and the other online newspapers have become quite an effective forum for the expression of divergent views and opinions.
The existence of Freedom and the other online newspapers has also clearly shown that in this electronic age, which ever government wants to manipulate and control the type of information its citizens consume, is definitely fighting a losing battle.
Therefore, the more there is an attempt by the government to control and regulate the media at home, the more Freedom and the other online newspapers will continue to grow and prosper as the alternative voice of the people. And the sooner the government realizes that the people will always have an alternative forum for news and information, the better for everyone.

……..Jammeh’s Business Deal With One White Man Exposed
Police Say The White Man Who Was Driving A Car Without Valid Paperwork Had Close Ties With The State House
By Mam Demba Gaye, Banjul
A top NIA official, who was assigned to oversee the investigations of the alleged car theft case, involving Lieutenant Bakary Camara and police ASP Manlafi Sanyang has been fired, according to a spokesperson at The Gambia Police Force. The NIA officer had his services with the Agency terminated with immediate effect. The move followed allegations that he was siding with the accused persons. The police spokesperson says Lieutenant Bakary Camara never stole any car from the President. “ What actually transpired was that the President gave a power of attorney to Lieutenant Camara to mediate between him (Jammeh) and one white man who had reached a business deal with him. The white man got stopped on numerous occasions at the Denton Bridge, while driving a car without a license plate, Insurance and other relevant paperwork. Each time, the White man got stopped by our men, he would called the State House and complained about the conduct of our men. Camara was advised by the President to go ahead and facilitate the registration of the car’s name in the white man’s name, thus giving him all the rights to have custody of the said car. The car’s title and other important information were transferred in the white man’s name. For unknown reasons, the President parted with his business partner, which led to the subsequent arrest and prosecution of Bakary Camara and Manlafi Sanyang.” said the police spokesperson at the police headquarters in Banjul.

Retirement Entitlement in the Armed Forces- Captain Alhajie Kanteh
“Anytime, the Freedom Newspaper turns out to be the mouth piece for the rich, the corrupt, the selfish, haters and past genocidal perpetrators, we shall as well shutdown the operations of this leading paper. We rather close Freedom than to allow this paper to dance to the tunes of the corrupt and enemies of free speech. We believe in equal treatment. The public interest supersedes personal interest.” Says Editor M’Bai
By Captain Alhagie Kanteh
Dear Editor,
Please allow space to briefly respond to the brilliant piece by Mr. Ebou Conteh on the important subject of retirement in the Armed forces as practiced in the Gambia and in the British and US military. Mr. Conteh has rightly pointed out that the military is governed by procedures based on Armed Forces regulations. In the Gambia we go by what is known as the Gambia Armed Forces Act (GAFA 84) .
