Jammeh's mother hospitalised
By: Our Banjul Bureau Chief
Reports reaching the Freedom Newspaper have revealed that Asombi Bojang, the mother of Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, is currently being hospitalised at the Intensive Care unit of the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH). Reports suggest that the president's mother has been at the hospital since Tuesday on a very threatening sickness. According to sources close her, the ailment arose following the abortive March 21 coup. She is said to have developed fear in her when her son, the president, started treating Gambians badly and "upon realisation of the possible consequences to her son, she began to advice him not to do any of the bad things he is doing, liking killings, threats, witch-hunt, etc.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaleeh' Endless lame excuses from State House, Daba's case and others. Thursday, May 11, 2006 (987 reads)
From Mile Two to the grave not Janjangburay.
When one listens to or reads stories from the State house, it becomes evident that President Jammeh has no sense of direction. Neither does this Gambian head of state enjoy the fruits of genuine advices from seasoned men and women. This of course makes any person admit that the Jammeh government has failed. It has also been sent to the lowest part of a stinking hole.

The Gambia: Regime Survival versus National Security
By Baba Galleh Jallow
Time and time again, we are bombarded with allegations of threats to national security perpetrated by the media and political opponents of the Gambia government. Over the past few years, opposition politicians including PDOIS’s Halifa Sallah, NRP’s Hamat Bah, NDAM’s Waa Juwara, UDP’S Ousainou Darboe and Kemeseng Jammeh, PPP’s Omar Jallow and several supporters of their individual parties have been arrested and detained on allegations of threatening national security.

The point we are making here is that claims of national security are meaningless in the face of so many unresolved arson attacks and murder cases.

THE GAMBIA ENTERS THE LIST OF FAILED STATES: Our country sits at the border line
By: Associate Editor Yankuba Jambang
Barely a month ago when I wrote a piece on Jammeh's failing regime, the republic of The Gambia has entered the fray of failed states as it lingers on the border line, according to foreignpolicy.com. Although we ranked 60, while Ivory Coast, Sudan, Somalia and others top the list, The Gambia's entry to this failed club is sorrowful and alarming. Why are getting there? I believe are getting there for the following reasons:

Breaking News:U.N. Human Rights Council Members Elected-Gambia fails rights test? Thursday, May 11, 2006 (623 reads)
By: Staff Writer
Tiny Gambia under the leadership of President Yahya Jammeh is being isolated day by the day. Our country is no longer commanding respect in the global world due to the country’s worsening human rights and rule of law crisis. On Wednesday, the United Nations General Assembly elected 47 nations to serve on the world body’s Human Rights Council. But to the surprise of many observers Gambia’s name never featured on that list. African countries and some European nations such as Gabon, Ghana, Mali, Zambia, Pakistan, Japan, Sri Lanka, Republic of Korea, Romania, Ukraine, Brazil, Guatemala, Peru, the United Kingdom and France are still serving this important body. Gambia’s non membership of this leading organization is a cause for concern. This is a government that brags that its human rights record was best in Africa, but in reality this far from what obtains on the ground.

I had thought of refering you this particular big and legitimate question which must be answered , but I figured out that you must have already read it since I got it directly from one of the two most invaluable websites about Gambia you posted me a little while ago. I am literally enamored with what I have been reading from both the ALL GAMBIAN .NET and FREEDOMNEWSPAPER.COM. The quality of the investigative journalism , as well as the presentation is superb and unparalled ,especially when compared to Yahya's proxy newspaper: Daily Observer. Please give me Pa Nderry's co-ordinates ASAP .

Annan should consider handing over Jammeh to
The Sierra leone court.

EDITORIAL:JAMMEH IS NOT A MUSLIM-HIS FALL IS NEARING!!! Wednesday, May 10, 2006 (545 reads)
EDITORIAL
Gambia’s iron hand dictator President Yahya Jammeh, should repent and seek God’s forgiveness before his inevitable fall. Jammeh is not a Muslim as he portrayed himself day in day out. With all these killings, disappearances, tortures and persecution of innocent Gambians, yet he and his supporters want to tell us that Jammeh is a Muslim. Jammeh is far from being a Muslim. A good Muslim do not kill, terrorize or oppresses his people. It is time for our religious leaders to tell Jammeh the unpleasant truth. The man can either be a devoted Muslim or a non-believer. His actions and personal comportment are far from being a Muslim.

TEETH BITE:Who okayed OJ'S US visit? Is Nadd really interested in winning the by elections??? Wednesday, May 10, 2006 (569 reads)
The much talked about Kombo East by election is around the corner. In few days time Gambians will go to the polls once again to elect a National Assembly Member. It is sad that our divided opposition are once again opposing one another. NADD has named its own candidate, like wise the NRP/UDP alliance. This by election is crucial to our nation’s fragile democracy. It will determine the popularity of the parties on the ground and what the future holds for our disintegrated opposition. We do not want to give report cards to parties at this hour, but what is clear though is that the NADD leadership seems to be giving more attention to fund raising than wining the votes in Kombo East. Funds are very important, but getting the support of the electorates is equally imperative if the party wants to register a success story in their quest to effect political change in The Gambia.

WHO OKAYED OJ'S US VISIT? IS NADD REALLY
INTERESTED TO WIN THE COMING BY ELECTIONS?
