Has Jammeh snubs Yankuba Touray??? Yanks contempulates moving Mami to another State...
Wednesday, May 10, 2006 (721 reads)

              By:Staff Writer

Disgraced Gambian Minister Yankuba Touray should consider asking his wife to return home to deliver. The Gambian tax payers cannot afford to foot her US medical bills. It is just too expensive. Mami will certainly fail if she wants to beat the system this time around. The Freedom Newspaper will expose any form of fraud she might have in mind. We learned that she was arrested in the United kingdom following her illegal trafficking of cigarettes in that English country.

HOROMSI:Change, change, change is coming soon-The will of the people shall prevail!!!
Tuesday, May 09, 2006 (377 reads)

Hormosi: Change, change, change is coming soon. We are seeing a new Gambia, in the making. Crying families will soon wipe their tears. Liberty will soon be restored in our dear country. They can run, but they cannot hide. They can lie against their fellow country men, but will certainly pay for the price sooner or later. They allowed to be used by Jilangka over the years, but will sit one day and cry in the courts. This day is coming soon. Justice will be meted out to those who aided and abetted Jilanka. In most cases such individuals emerged as failures in life. They lie too much with little sense in their brains. They think that they are smart when they are the biggest fools you can find. They failed to comprehend a simple question despite repeated follow ups. These are people calling themselves intelligence gurus. What a shame? Jilanka most of the time hired mad people. They are not clever at all. Their literature is full of junk and inconsistencies. Horomsi is not the least impressed by such dudes. The will of the people is more powerful than the evil. Our country should be administered  by intelligent people and not hustlers. These people have nothing to offer. We shall live to remember them for their past atrocities against Gambians. The new Gambia will be interesting.”

By: Claire O'sullivan

I saw my letter to you online and note that you continued to be a foolhardy person, Panderry I have never ever threatened you and have actually tried to be respectful and civil even though you have treated me with such Malice. You claim online in the article that you feel I have an ulterior motive regarding Taal and the German guy when it is already clear to you that the piece was forwarded to me with a request that I place it on the forum, the person who asked me to do so is an associate of yours, and speaks extremely high of you, they have informed me that they will at the right moment contact you and explain however due to some restraints this is not possible presently, you make this statement Panderry yet in your Forum Justice Sam claims that the same Maimouna Taal is a former lover of YAYA JAMMEH.

Open Letter to the U.S Ambassador Joseph Stafford, Banjul, The Gambia

Your Excellency, I write this open letter to your office in my capacity as Founder Editor and Chief Executive Officer of The Independent newspaper in Banjul, The Gambia. I would have loved to seek an appointment and have a face-to-face meeting with you. But as I am currently pursuing doctoral studies in the United States, this is not possible. So please allow me to address my concerns to Your Excellency in this open forum.

The Battle For Our Country: The Military and Security Forces.
Monday, May 08, 2006 (562 reads)

By: Associate Editor Mathew K Jallow

Twelve years into APRC rule, it has become apparent that our military and security forces have become an extension of the executive branch of our government. In other words, the military and security forces do not serve at the pleasure of the Gambian people, but have instead been turn into servant of the president and his APRC party. Today, the activities of these forces are indistinguishable from the activities of APRC party stalwarts, and there is no denying that Yahya's hand is manipulating the nation's security forces in a manner that secures his individual and personal interest.

Good Morning, Mr. President, is your brother Ansumana Jammeh going to lead the Civil Aviation?
Sunday, May 07, 2006 (872 reads)

Good Morning, President,

This past Weekend was graduation time in the United States. Your own blood brother Ansumana Jammeh was among those who graduated at a Kansas University. Ansumana, we learned was studying Aviation. A big party was hosted for him by Susan and the delegation who came to witness his graduation. Perhaps, Ansumana will be the next MD of the Civil Aviation in days to come. The Civil Aviation management will soon have a new boss. No need to panic. Jilanka is working on that.We cannot understand why our brother Ebou Jallow and his crew missed Ansumana’s graduation. Ebou should be fired. He is not the least fair with Jammeh. He is not doing his PR job properly. The graduation of Ansumana should not be down played at all.

            By:Sarjo Bayang

For someone with strong command of text not responding from personal written attack, there are certainly more reasons than cowardice or mere lack of words. Fatou Jaw Manneh is one fire-cracking female Gambian writer anyone with the taste to read will prefer to search out for.

Horomsi:Freedom being tested by its enemies, but we shall over come the challenges!!!
Sunday, May 07, 2006 (347 reads)

Horomsi: “ Freedom is being tested by its enemies and we shall over come the challenges. No amount of threats can move us. Why the well organized conspiracies and back stabbing at this hour? What’s going on? Let sleeping dogs lie for now. This is not the time to black mail one and another. The common enemy is Jammeh and not anyone else. Freedom don’t have time for such petty bickering and undermining schemes. They like to talk, but lack common sense. Stop playing games.  We are too smart to be fooled.   Have a great day…

In defence of Fatou Jaw Manneh
Sunday, May 07, 2006 (481 reads)

     By:Cherno Baba Jallow

Mr. Editor, I read with displeasure, the insinuation by one Alhaji Bah, that Fatou Jaw Manneh gained employment at the DAILY OBSERVER through the "backdoor". This is a malicious allegation designed to cause irreparable damage to Fatou's integrity and personhood. Fatou can defend herself best. But get this: I have known Fatou for a long time now. She was part of the pioneer group at the Daily Observer when the daily began publication in the early 1990s. I used to read her letters to the editor with avid interest when I was a student at Gambia High School. She was always opinionated, with views as strong as to ruffle feathers. Good also that she was one of a few women writers back then.

Fatou Jaw-Manneh: A correction
Sunday, May 07, 2006 (510 reads)

BY MATHEW K JALLOW, ASSOCIATE EDITOR

First of all, I find Alhagie Bah's last snippet concerning what he labels as anti-Jammeh tirades very disconcerting. I guess he is he alluding that Jammeh is getting a raw deal from all the media coverage on this online paper. If that is right, I can only surmise that Mr. Bah, like some other decent Gambians has fallen victim to delusion or self deceit.
