Michael Scales Praises Bishop Johnson!! Monday, January 07, 2008 (294 reads)
By Michael Scales, UK
Dear Mr.Editor,
May I respectfully, applaud His Lordship,The Bishop of Banjul.
S.Tilewa Johnson, for his calm and intuitive response to such scurrilous and scandalous allegations. In fact his response canvassed a standing ovation from my Anglican wife and I. Over many passing moons of doing business in The Gambia, one becomes aware, after experience, that within the community, their are those who seek to blackmail,or threaten life or engineer opportunities which are to their personal gain. In my time, there have been occasional arrogant attempts from police officers and agents of the NIA,to entice me into their net.

Breaking News: Bishop Of Banjul S Tilewa Johnson Reacts To Graft Allegations!! Monday, January 07, 2008 (1656 reads)
Bishop Of Banjul S Tilewa Johnson Reacts To Graft Allegations!! Dear Mr. Editor, As soon as I received information that the above article was posted, and after finding out who the leadership of this newspaper were, I decided to respond. I am pretty sure that if I had consulted 'the wise men and women' of Anglican Church here in The Gambia, they would have advised against this very act of mine. Well, as Sammy Gomez (the author), was generous enough to give me the benefit of the doubt at the end of his article, I thought I might reciprocate and accept the offer 'to clear his image.' I guess he meant I should give my own side of the story, so to speak.

Letter Writer Says Freedom Editor Should Be Man Of The Year!!!
By Fanta Jallow
Good Morning Pa,
I am just curious to know the situation of your younger sister who was arrested sometime ago in order to blackmail you into given in the noble task you are doing for all Gambians. If your on-line newspaper can record the number of people that access it on a daily basis for balanced and unfettered news about Gambia, yours will outperformed the likes of the pro-Yahya Observer. Many Gambians across all walks of life either openly or secretly read the Freedom Newspaper. I was concerned about her ordeal and would like an update on her plight. This shows the depth of your commitment to carry out the noble job you are doing for the helpless and powerless Gambians. Allah is by your side. More grease on your elbow. Stay Blessed. You should be the Man of the Year for 2007.
F.H. Jallo
Editors note: Thanks for choosing me as the Man of The Year. We have decided that such awardees should come outside Freedom Newspaper this time around. We appreciate your complements and concern over the plight of Mr. Mbai’s sister. She is doing fine. She still reports to the police head quarters on a daily basis pending further directive from emperor Jammeh. That’s the most up-to-date information on Kumba Mbye’s case. Thanks.

Editorial: Suwaibou Conateh’s Patriotism is Questionable!! Sunday, January 06, 2008 (417 reads)
Editorial: Suwaibou Conateh’s Patriotism is Questionable!!
Jammeh ought to have been awarded as Africa’s leading genocidal perpetrator
We still stand by our position on the fake award given to Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh. We remain unapologetic. Suwaibou Conateh should consider quitting journalism, as he has lost the respect and admiration of The Gambian Community. He has failed miserably as a journalist. The said award given to Yahya Jammeh would hunt him for the rest of his life. Gambians will never forgive Mr. Conateh for his dishonest and unethical act by trying to portray Africa’s serial killer Yahya Jammeh as a good man. Our hearts are bleeding heavily at this hour. We are yet to recover from such a rude shock coming from supposedly a so called doyen of Gambian journalism. We felt betrayed and scarf iced by Suwaibou Conateh.

By Yankuba Badjie, Gambia
RE: MAN OF THE YEAR 2007
Could you kindly get me space to air my views on the recent nomination of the president of the Gambia as man of the year 2007 on your reputable online paper. Mr. Conateh has been around for a long time and knows a lot about what had taken place in the Gambia since the Jawara regime and even before the PPP. He has also witnessed the 94' coup d'etat and participated either voluntarily, willingly or forcefully in the Jammeh government.
