Friday, May 05, 2006 (615 reads)

SERGEANT MENDY’S FAMILY EXPRESS SHOCK

  By Fabakary B. Ceesay

Sergeant Buba Mendy of The Gambia National Army has gone missing several weeks ago. His family members expressed surprise that he has not been seen for a long time. They said Mendy has not been working before the 21st of March 2006. A family source said Buba’s absence from work was due to an accident he had with a motorbike. He resumed work two weeks after the foiled coup and continued working up to Friday 14th April 2006 when his family last saw him.

Political Education for Democratic Transformation of the Gambia

At a time of growing political activism among Gambians worldwide, the need arises to both underscore and enhance political education in the Diaspora and in The Gambia to push further the country's democratic transformation. There are at least two important reasons in the quest for politicaleducation for Gambians at home and in the Diaspora.

A SAD CASE FOR A CORRUPT GAMBIAN MINISTER-YANKUBA TOURAY TRYING TO BEAT THE SYSTEM!!!
Wednesday, May 03, 2006 (704 reads)

                  BY STAFF WRITER

Disgraced Gambian Minister Yankuba Touray, is one of those who will contribute to the fall of President Yahya Jammeh. While the Minister is making last minute rush to make his loved ones to be US Citizens, by sending his wife to deliver in the United States, the likes of Edward Singhateh and other brains behind the AFPRC/APRC revolution are being sidelined by the President. Edward the truth be told, is one of the poorest Ministers you can find in Jammeh’s government. This was the man who spearheaded the 1994 coup, but the likes of Yankuba Touray had overshadowed him. Yanks is dipping his hands into state coffers at his own accord just to satisfy his materialistic wife lady Mami Minteh.

Wednesday, May 03, 2006 (589 reads)

The EAW half a million dollars law suit against The Gambian government is bound to be an interesting one. The Lobby Firm is possessing material evidence to tender in court to dismiss the government’s argument that John Aycoth, the firm’s Chief Executive was not doing its job. Today, we are publishing pictorial materials in which John was amongst The Gambian delegation that visited the United Nations in 2002. These pictures speaks for themselves.

TEEH BITE:WESTERN DIPLOMATS IN GAMBIA SHOULD TELL JAMMEH THE TRUTH!!!
Wednesday, May 03, 2006 (437 reads)

We are inline with what our brother Baba Galleh Jallow said. The diplomatic silence in Banjul is unbelievable. Dictator Jammeh is tearing our country apart and yet there is no word of caution or condemnation from Western diplomats. The other day the US Ambassador in Nigeria was loud and clear about US’s disapproval to Nigeria’s attempts to amend its constitution in a bid to allow President Obasanjo to run for a third term. The US envoy never minced his feelings and therefore urges Nigerian authorities to respect the two term limit that was endorsed by Nigerians.

Please post this to your site if you deem it necessary. It is an opinion relating to Galleh's article.

_____________________
Baba Galleh is right in that the U.S. and the Great Britain have double standards (or in Galleh's words, triple standards). It is quite amazing to me the utter silence of the diplomatic corps in the Gambia regarding Jammeh's blatant disregard for the rule of law, good governance and disregard for human lives and freedom. The West does not care about us and it is about time that we take matters into our own hands.

International Triple Standards and the Plight of the Gambian People

By Baba Galleh Jallow

Washington, DC

Is the cold war really over? The answer is yes, and no. As far as the ideological warfare between East and West are concerned, it is over. Moscow and Washington are no longer fighting for the soul of the world. And except for issues involving Iran and North Korea, the nuclear arms controversy seems to be over and done with.

M. M. Secka: A Tribute-Professor Abdoulaye Saine

    BY Professor  Abdoulaye Saine

  M. M. Secka: A Tribute

Modou Musa Secka, (a.k.a. M.M.) departed this world unexpectedly on Monday, March 20, 2006 to the utter dismay and sadness of those who knew and loved him dearly. He was the consummate Renaissance Man- broadcaster, journalist, actor, and humorist, play-wright and budding novelist. What he lacked in physical statue, he more than compensated for with talent and a bigger than life heart. He was a gentle soul, a loving parent and husband as well as a loyal friend who was generous with his time and always eager to give and entertain. An eternal optimist, he saw the best in people.
