EDITORIAL
It is barley 24 hours, since the alleged disappearance of the five coup suspects, which confirmed well founded fear within and outside the West African country, that the men must have been summarily executed by the Jammeh government. The Gambian government remained mute over the alleged killing of the detainees, who served key positions in Jammeh’s government at some point. The culture of killing is becoming rampant in our dear mother land and it is time for the International community to call for restrain in this ugly state of affairs befalling our country.

EDITORIAL:FIVE COUP SUSPECTS KILLED IN THE GAMBIA? WHAT? Tuesday, April 04, 2006 (589 reads)
EDITORIAL
The news about the alleged execution of the five coup suspects is very, very disturbing. The government’s claim that the men escaped from custody, after the somersaulting of the automobile they were traveling with sounds like a daydream to us Gambians. That these detainees can escaped without the heavily armed soldiers capturing them beat our imagination. There are more questions than answers. Remember, those named in the said alleged execution used to man sensitive positions under Jammeh’s watch. Already, people believed that the government story was a ploy to deceive Gambians.

JAMMEH SHOULD CLEAR
THE AIR. WE NEED FACTS AND

High Profile Politicians
Low Key Tunes
By Sarjo Bayang, UK
Gambian electorates are receiving rather poor signals from key political players. These men have been seen as rays of hope to salvage the country from the electric grips of Yaya Jammeh who holds the country at ransom under iron claws since 22 July 1994 in a military takeover. Politicians are becoming more unmanageable in their responsiveness to what the electorate prefer. Let us examine what prospects there may be for getting the political progress on track.
