BANJUL, THE GAMBIA- Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has appointed Lamin Kitti Jabang as Ambassador to the Republic of Saudi Arabia with immediate effect. In a statement issued today, the government says Jabang will also served as the country’s permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic conference (OIC).

As soon as I sent my email to the freedom newspaper from Kanifing I stayed on line to only to see more crazy stuff from the daily observer.Balla was irate and drunk as usual.What Balla failed to realize was'he showered good credentials on Halifa Sallah.He referred to the criteria on the NADD MOU as something that suits Halifa exactly.Done deal for NADD then Balla! The criteria on that MOU is so good.The moment it fits anyone indicates that person must be so good.

The political dust surrounding the NADD leadership crisis had finally settled. Halifa Sallah, the man of Serre Kunda, has been declared the flag bearer of the coalition. These are positive signs for NADD. Gambians should do away with the culture of one man show. NADD belongs to the people and no political leader. The verdict of the people is stronger than agents of destruction bent on self imposed rule or leadership greed if you want.

Gambia’s firebrand politician, popularly known as the Niamina Dankunku lion Lamin Waa Juwara, has said that the naming of Halifa Sallah, as the NADD flag bearer in the country’s October, 2006 Presidential election will end the Jammeh dictatorship as he was pretty certain of NADD election victory.

The NADD leadership impasse has been finally laid to rest, as Halifa Sallah, of the opposition PDOIS, was today confirmed as the coalition's flag bearer, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively reveal. Latest reports from Banjul say the prominent and vocal politician was officially named by his colleagues to lead NADD in the country’s 2006 polls. Halifa, a charismatic politician is been described in many quarters as a sellable candidate, who could posed as a threat to incumbent President Yahya Jammeh.

BANJUL, THE GAMBIA: Baba Jobe, the jailed former majority leader of the National Assembly was yesterday taken to the high court of the Gambia by the Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Ltd in connection with an amount of D1.8million debts. During Mr. Jobe’s tenure as the Chief Executive Officer of Red Air, he managed to secure a loan from the bank and now the bank wants him to pay the sum of D1, 877,835.00.

EDITORIAL

When I opened my official email address this morning, I was greeted by Bufaaleh’s report regarding a conspiracy between the State House in Banjul and Daily Observer’s Mam Sait Ceesay against the Freedom Newspaper, which is barely one month old. That Mam said of all Mam Sait, picked up his phone to call Omar Fye to inform him about our recent commentaries on the activities of Major Fye. A lot of hate conversation were said at that line chat, which we are privy of. Let them go ahead with their threats. The Freedom Newspaper Management will not be intimidated. We have sharpened our pens to expose the likes of Fye, Ceesay and their boss dictator Jammeh.
