MARIE SAINE’S PRIVATE MEETING WITH AMNESTY!!!
Details From Geneva Meeting Emerged
Is The NIA Watching Minister Marie Saine????
Justice Minister Marie Firdaus Saine held a private meeting with Amnesty International staffers, who attended the just concluded UN Geneva Rights conference, following numerous excuses of busy schedules. The Minister finally accorded audience to the Amnesty officials, but sources reaching this paper say Saine insists that the meeting must be witnessed by her entire delegation—for fear of being implicated by the secret NIA agents, Freedom Newspaper’s Weekend Edition can reveal. As Gambia Assures Tourism Free Hassle For Tourists
By Staff Reporter Abdou Jatta, Banjul
Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has instructed the country’s security forces assigned to the Tourism Development Area—known as (TDA) to arrest, and prosecute beach boys (Bumsters) who are in the business of harassing visiting tourists. Mr. Jammeh was addressing tourism officials, and local stakeholders during a meeting—aimed at making the nation’s sandy beaches a safe place for tourists. The Gambian leader said The Gambia has earned the reputation of being Africa’s Smiling Coast, and therefore urged law enforcement agents to jealously safeguard such a national glory. He said the beaches should be free of bumsters. This he said, would enhance tourist confidence in the nation’s quest to attract high spending visitors.

The Road to Self Determination and Independence On the 18 February celebrations—Part 2
By Halifa Sallah, Banjul
It goes without saying that those who took over the country in 1965 had the task to build a state which could guarantee the general welfare of the people as manifested in its civil, political, economic, social and cultural aspects. For 45 years since the declaration of Independence, it is sad to inform the Gambian people that over eighty percent of our annual development budget has always been derived from loans and grants. The bulk of schools, roads, hospitals, airports, generators, agricultural projects and so on and so forth have been made available through loans and grants.

Guest Editorial: Violence against Women (wife-beating): A Bastion of Male-domination that must End.
Abdoulaye Saine, Hamilton, Ohio, USA
As I write this essay/ Op-ed, I am gripped by chilling memories of wife-beating in my childhood household, as well as other cases in neighboring homes that I witnessed as a teenager and young adult in The Gambia. In later years while visiting The Gambia on holidays or on research trips, I would on occasion witness or hear about husbands beating wives for myriad reasons. Even in the U.S., and in Europe where laws against girlfriend and spousal-abuse are stringent, there are reported cases of wife-beating/ battery in homes of Gambians in the Diaspora. This practice is normalized and pervasive though not unique to Gambia and Gambians alone- remember the Chris Brown and Rihanna fiasco in the U.S.?

Are African American “Celebrities” Getting Bailout Money From Gambia???
African Dictator Uses Dollar Diplomacy To Entice Celebrities?
The impoverished tiny West African nation of The Gambia is increasingly becoming a “ hot spot” for African American movie actors, designers, artists, and strippers, who visit this country for the sole purpose of getting money from our mentally challenged President Yahya Jammeh. Times are hard in the US, and elsewhere across the world—thanks to the Global recession. In order to secure economic bailout, these parading money seekers come here with all kind of cultural stories—just to entice the attention of our sick leader Yahya Jammeh. Mr. Jammeh is obsessed with fame, and he would do whatever it takes to dish out millions of dollars to the visiting African American attention seekers to achieve his desired objective—that is to be featured on Hollywood, and also to one day have an audience with President Barrack Obama. Mr. Jammeh is desperately lobbying to meet President Obama, but the White House wouldn’t accord him audience due to his ailing rights records. Jammeh has already been declared a “dictator”, and Washington wouldn’t waste its time seeing such a totalitarian leader.

Chaz Guest With President Obama. Did Mr. Guest Receive Money From Jammeh???
