TIME TO PATRONISE OUR COUNTRY'S AUTHORS
By Suntou Touray, UK
This is only meant to remind my fellow Gambians that, it is high time we start patronizing our authors and writers. I was conducting a brief research on Gambian writers and to many utmost surprise ,we have so many of them out there. Like me, many young and old Gambians hardly heard of this skillful men and women. I don't have any data to back-up my assumptions but I have been around many discussion forums to know about our authors.

Gambians Must Take Action Now Or They Will Go Down In History- Says Ebrima Camara Wednesday, January 30, 2008 (648 reads)
Awaking the Sleeping Giant:
Gambians Must Take Action Now Or They Will Go Down In History
Ebrima Conteh
Fellow countrymen the solution to our common problem can be easily fixed if we choose and elect to unite and not allow party politics to divide us. The Diaspora will not be taken seriously if we stay divided along party lines. We have to elevate ourselves and see past party politics, there is too much at stake here. It seems to me all we do is stay stuck with party politics and continuously write about the current political situation, how long have we been doing the same old thing. We cannot expect results by doing the same thing over an over again. If the old way is not working why do we try a different approach? The ideas and criticism has to be coupled with action to produce effective results.

Is Samsudeen Sarr suffering from dementia?
By Ebrima Sanneh
Dear Editor,
Please allow me to respond to Saul Khan's article, captioned On Sam Sarr, Ethnic Nationalism and the Quest for a Gambia Nation as published in your paper on January 25.
Thank you for the space and keep up the good work!
The battle of the tribalists: Saul Khan jumps into the fray.
Perhaps, I didn’t get the gist of Saul Khan’s vitriolic response to Samsudeen Sarr’s biased article. Or just perhaps I am slow witted and I did not capture the ‘brilliance’ or ‘intelligence’ that other readers saw in his write-up.

Travelers Decry “ Rising Corruption” At the Banjul International Airport!!
Customs And Immigration Agents Under Fire
By Bakary Jaiteh - Lamin Village
A major corruption racket has been unveiled at the Banjul International Airport, where Customs and Immigration agents extort bribes, imposing illegal airport fees, harassment of visitors and in some instances stealing passenger luggage, revealed competent aviation sources. While there is no independent report linking the Customs and Immigration agents into the constant disappearances of passenger luggage, sources say the airport security pays little or no attention to customer properties. That Customs and Immigration agents spent most of their time demanding money and clothing from visitors coming into this country. Travelers who refused to dash these security agents with couple of dollars are exposed to an unfinished airport screening and delaying tactics. Some passengers have no choice but to meet the demands of the Customs and Immigration agents to avoid missing their flights, our sources added.

Controversy Over EX Colonel Samsideen Sarr’s Rank Status Laid To Rest: Retirement Explained.
By Ebou Conteh
I am not an expert in military affairs but I have served a day or two in uniform. I feel I will do your readers a disservice by opting to keep quiet about former Gambian soldiers calling them-selves retired or Gambians in the US military who hype up their ranks in the US military. I have access to US military data bases and I will start calling out people, when I do I will present readers irrefutable prove. Call this “keeping them honest” if I can borrow this phrase from Anderson Cooper of CNN.
