Jammeh Orders for Quick Manipulations at the Central Bank to Legitimise GAMTEL/GAMCEL Sale! Wednesday, August 29, 2007 (798 reads)
Jammeh Orders for Quick Manipulations at the Central Bank to Legitimise GAMTEL/GAMCEL Sale!
"Presently, the office of the president has been making some frantic and threatening calls to some individuals at the Central Bank, to start without delay the process of falsifying documents to "legitimise" the sale of GAMCEL and GAMTEL. Since after the publication of an article by Foroyaa, questioning the sale of GAMTEL and GAMCEL and raising questions of documentation and evidence at the central bank, Yahya had quickly sent his unschooled emissaries to the Central Bank to cajole the weak hearts to effect this drastic and unholy mission. We all know that there was no payment made into any government account in relation to this "sale". The Secretary of State for Finance, Bala Gaye knows very well what I am talking about. You also know very well that within the State Department, some senior officials have been mobilised and commissioned to work against you, since in the president's own words, "the SOS is bent on sabotaging this deal," says Baati Jollof, a Senior Civil Servant.

.jpg) Country men, Country Women, my people the recent revelations concerning the sale of GAMTEL and GAMCEL to a non existent dubious Lebanese company has continued to dominate our discussions in every Vous and gathering. However, as like other critical national issues in the past, we are all once again gripped by the synical Jammeh fear factor, and no one dears to talk openly about these criminal activities, with the exception of some few politicians. Jammeh has once again decided to step on the faces of Gambians, with out any regrets.

By Michael Scales, UK.
Dear Mr .Editor,
I must admit to being one of Bubacarr Sankanu's greatest fans....As the Americans would say..He can chew gum and fart at the same time.Im pleased,he qualifies his support for President Jammeh by separating his elected position.... from his Human Rights abuses and "alleged"extra Judicial killings. He supports the former, and regrets the latter.I would not attempt to lock horns with him ,as his interlectual wit ,dwarfs mine into insignificance. But no matter, ive always been competative....so hear goes nothing?

GAMTEL, GAMCEL AND GIA sale Reaches World Bank Desk!!
World Bank Official Referred The Freedom Newspaper To their Dakar Office for further Details!!
Editors issued Open Letter to Gilberto Barros of The World Bank
"For sometime now, the World Bank and the IMF had been playing "watch and see attitude" towards The Gambia. If The Bank can go extra miles to expose and condemn official graft in Kenya and elsewhere across the continent, we see no reason why the Gambia should be exempted. It's about time for the World Bank and other donor partners to speak out against the institutionalized corruption in The Gambia. The amount of official graft and lawlessness taking place in The Gambia got to be condemned by all and sundry." Freedom Editors told Mr.Barros in a letter dated August 28TH, 2007

Mutiny In Gambia!! Former Army Lieutenant Kejau Touray Breaks the silence!! Tuesday, August 28, 2007 (2013 reads)
"On the morning of 22 July 1994, I was on leave that day and was awaken by shouting all over Fajara Barracks, "cowards, they all ran away!". I knew that something serious was wrong. I was told that it was a coup and that Yaya Jammeh and some officers were disarmed at the airport as they planned to escort the President to the barracks, after the Guard of Honour the previous night. My contention with all those in authority was why those mutineers were not immediately under custody. They had planned to arrest them the next morning I learnt. Edward Singhateh reported spent that night crying, being consoled that they will go on and take over the government before the planned arrest. Yaya Jammeh had been in the army less than a year and was not known to the soldiers of GNA. He relied on Edward Singhateh for men, as his own unit refused to follow him into unlawful takeover and most paid for it dearly after the takeover. The insurrectionists were ready early in the morning, with most other GNA officers either oblivious of the coup or part of it. The rest were immediately arrested and incarcerated to Mile 2 Prisons, including Gendarmerie and some police officers." said Former Army Lieutenant Kejau Touray.
By Kejau Touray, UK
On the 22 July 1994, The Gambia Army took over the government off PPP, which has been in power since independence. This former British colony of barely a million people, has had the army for only a decade. The experience in the Armed Forces before, during and after the regime change that brought in one of the most brutal regimes in our sub region, will be discussed in these postings.

"I have not regretted calling for the overthrow of Jammeh." Says Journalist PK Jarju!! Tuesday, August 28, 2007 (701 reads)
By PK Jarju, UK
So far so good we still living today
But we don't know what tomorrow brings
In this crazy world
People dying like flies every day
You read about it in the news
But you don't believe it
You'll only know about it
When the man in the long black coat
Knocks on your door
'Cause you're his next victim
As you are living in this
Living in, living in this crazy world.....
Lucky Dube
Over the weekend, my email account was bombarded with loads of emails, mostly from angry supporters of the brutal Jammeh regime regarding comments I made in my article published in last Friday's edition of Freedom Newspaper captioned: How to get rid of Jammeh. In the article, I catalogued a list of ways of how to remove Dictator Yahya Jammeh and his APRC party from power. Among them, I called on the Gambian Armed Forces to intervene in our politics in order to prevent the once smiling coast of Africa from sinking as a result of the hardship, suffering and lack of a mature political leadership in the country.
