A Top Security Chief Talks To The Freedom Newspaper About Jammeh’s Psychiatric Problems
Jammeh’s Blackmailing Schemes Against The Army Exposed
Security Chief Says Jammeh Denied CDS Kinteh Degree Scholarship
By Pa Nderry M’Bai, Raleigh, NC
Few days ago, I was talking to a top Security Chief in The Gambia. He told me that the President Yahya Jammeh spent a significant amount of time browsing the Internet. The Security Chief informed me that Jammeh always quote the Freedom Newspaper publications during their security briefings. That he Jammeh tends to believe in the Freedom Newspaper more than his own intelligence community. In other words, the official said Jammeh’s decisions are motivated by what we report here at Freedom. He wondered how we are able to rattle his cage all this while without the NIA apprehending those supplying us with such classified state secrets. Mr. President you will be arrested first before our informants are apprehended. We will elaborate more on this later in this piece.

Gambia’s Anti Narcotic Director, IGP Badjie, And Others Accused Of Siding With Drug Lords
Majang Is The Gambia’s Top Drug Lord
By Our Confidential Police Informant
Gambia's National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) has the unenviable reputation of being one of the most discredited institutions among the country's security establishment. And the incredibly dampen CV of its reigning Director General, Bun Sanneh, alongside some other key figures within his dented management team, makes a rather unpalatable combination, but such a powerful force within the corridors of state power. Bun is widely considered as among the most highly corrupt figures in the country, hence his susceptibility to bribery, which makes him easily penetrable by drug barons. But unfortunately, like the trend is in Gambia today, he happens to be a favourite to the Gambian leader, Yahya Jammeh.

Bissau govt threatens to arrest him
By Staff Reporter Jattabendos Banjul
The fugitive Guinea Bissau army navy chief who was given sanctuary by Yahya Jammeh, after he was accused of an attempted coup against slain president, Joao Bernardo Nino Vieira, and fled his country, has returned home. Admiral Jose Americo Bubo Na Tchute reportedly returned home through the sea, a route he seems very familiar with, having been allegedly involved in drug trafficking throughout his stay at the head of the country's navy. His relationship with the government of Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, another highly suspected dealer in drug, has since been tied to the business the admiral is well known for.

The youth leader of the Gambia's major opposition political party, the United Democratic Party (UDP), Syngle Nyassi, has called on all Gambians who cherish peace and who are yearning for change to come forward and join the UDP in an effort to rescue the country from its present 'dictatorship'. Mr Nyassi who was speaking to this reporter as part of an interview said it is incumbent on all Gambians who are interested in the liberation of Gambians from a protracted dictatorship and disregard for the rule of law and other human right abuses to join what is the biggest opposition party in the country.

Gambia: Editorial: Yahya Jammeh Is Worse Than Idi Amin Monday, December 28, 2009 (3237 reads)
Editorial: Yahya Jammeh Is Worse Than Idi Amin
While the late Idi Amin of Uganda left a bad legacy behind, one is compelled to compare him with Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh. The two shared common characteristics. The late Edi Amen was virtually an illiterate when he took over rein of office. Like Jammeh, Amen too could barely read or write simple English. General Amin, who self-styled himself as a Field Marshall claimed in a You Tube documentary that he was forced to join the Ugandan Army by the country’s former colony Britain. Idi Amin was also a former second world war veteran. He was hailed for his gallantry as a soldier, as well as a renowned boxer.
Amin was widely feared by Ugandans. Like Jammeh, Idi Amin killed, jailed, and exiled his opponents. Several thousands of Ugandans died during his watch. He employs terror to tame the population, just like Yahya Jammeh, who uses the National Intelligence Agency and the State Guards to torture and kill Gambians.

Gambia: Michael Scales Hailed Mathew K Jallow Sunday, December 27, 2009 (671 reads)
Michael Scales Hailed Mathew K Jallow
Dear Mr. Editor,
It is good to see Mathew back in the "Knowing Zone" with his most recent offering to The Gambian Echo. The thing I like about Mathew is that he takes a piece from every aspect of Jammeh's failure..like a bricklayer and builds a compelling case for worthy consideration from the ruins. The reader is left in no doubt about where he is aiming and he aims well. One can take some similarity from Uncle Demba Jawo...in the crisp easily read and understood articles that both write....and I must confess to be a true follower and believer in what they write. But is what they write helpful....? and does it paint the right portrait or reveal the" blue print" for a post Jammeh administration?
