Breaking News:The Gambia Is Heading To Civil Unrest-EX-Vice Chairman Sabally Declares!! Tuesday, January 16, 2007 (1635 reads)
"[From a sincere security analysis] many have observed that our country is seemingly [at super-sonic high speed] sliding toward insecurity, but to be exact, a civil unrest [look at Guinea Conakry, Bangladesh, and others]. You have sown the seeds (and are also watering them) and they can sprout out at any minute. Any security-conscious person(s) can add one and one and he/she/they will not fail to see into what I'm talking about. We may all have differences on one or two issues, but we can never differ on the fact that "we are all Gambians and we care: For The Gambia; our love is deep and strong. Nothing will ever change it." These were the exact words of Sana Bairo Sabally, former Vice Chairman of the then Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council. Mr.Sabally in a dispatch to the Freedom Newspaper said there is high public discontent in the Gambia today, while citing the economic and political uncertainties befalling the West African country." Mr. President,Why would people keep echoing these words?
1. "The Gambia is (today) living under the jackboot of a terrible dictatorial regime of Yahya JAMMEH."
(2) "In our country [The Gambia] today, there is intolerance, oppression, and autocracy to the last degree.
(3) "The Gambia is a country governed by an oligarchy---an absolute autocracy!"

Breaking News:Waa Juwara Accuses UDP/NRP of trying to KILL NADD-As he denies supporting APRC! Sunday, January 14, 2007 (936 reads)
Gambia's leading, fearless and most outspoken politician Lamin Waa Juwara has accuses the UDP/NRP led Alliance of trying to "kill NADD as a legitimate and credible" political party in the Gambia by sponsoring National Assembly candidate in Serre-Kunda Central Halifa Sallah's main base and elsewhere across the impoverished West African country."They are just spoilers. They sponsored a candidate in Serrekunda Central to split the votes so that Halifa Sallah would lose. And as flag bearer of NADD with the aim of killing NADD. Any serious contender could not have noticed what happened during the Presidential elections. And if they reject a tactical alliance which they did, you know that these people are not credible opposition elements. They are trying to kill NADD as a credible political party."Alleges Waa Juwara widely known as the Niamina Dankunku lion.

Editorial:Iran/Gambia Deal Against The West Exposed!State House in a visa scandal.... Saturday, January 13, 2007 (717 reads)
Iran and the Gambia relationship should be of concern to Western powers. President Yahya Jammeh is becoming rude and wilder by the hour. He is saying that he got the backing of his bigger brother Muhamoud Ahmadinejad of Iran to do whatever he wants. Iran is these days dishing him with millions of dollars to run certain errands for them. These errands are not in the interest of the West. It's matter of time for the world to know what we are talking about here. Ahmadinejad is using corrupt leaders like Jammeh of the Gambia to wage a war against what he often calls "western imperialism." Jammeh's association with Iran is based on the following reasons. One, to join them in their anti west campaign. Two, to nurture Islamic fundamentalism and to say no to Western war on terror. Thirdly,Jammeh is also being used to insult western powers and possibly threatened its representatives in the Gambia by blaming them for not issuing visas to his government officials. His speeches these days centered on Western Visa tight restrictions against his government, his opposition to the "Western so called war on terror" to borrow his expression, colonialism and among host of others. Jammeh is being recruited by these anti western nations for a purpose. It's time for the West to monitor him.

Jammeh, Macdouall and Taal then proceeded to form an impromptu so-called board of governors for the Observer Company Gambia (Ltd), with Neneh Macdouall then the deputy director of the national television and the one who led a pro-Jammeh student march that culminated into a beach party on the morning after the murder of Deyda (while Gambians were crying at the mortuary), as chairman.
