More revelations on convicted British couple
….Daily Observer Forewarned!!!
By Amu Cham, Switzerland
I have read in the Daily Observer Sunday January 18 2009, edition that it will publish on Tuesday a story about the jailed British couple already published by the Mail on Sunday in the United Kingdom. The Observer also said it was pleased to just do that as according to it, the story exposes the two individuals. The hypocrisy is that I also previously read in the same Daily Observer editorial angrily complaining the same British Press coverage about the whole issue.

The Big Interview: Gambia’s Health Director Dr. Mbowe Speaks!!!!
….Mbowe Says “ MRC Gambia Had Closed Its Malaria Research Stations, Thanks To The Country’s Success Story On Malaria Fight.”
….MRC Workers Terminated
Gambian Gynecologist Accuses EX CNN Correspondent Jeff Koinange And A Dakar Based Medical Scientist As “ Liars.”
In a rare interview, with the US based Freedom Newspaper Sunday, Tamsir Mbowe, Director of Gambia’s Health Services, has revealed that due to the country’s success story in the fight against the killer disease malaria, the UK based Medical Research Council ( MRC) is downsizing its operations in the West African country. The Russian trained Gynecologist said the MRC had closed down some of its malaria research stations in The Gambia, thanks to the nation’s recent historic achievement in combating the global malaria pandemic. Mbowe said as a result of this, some of the MRC local and foreign expertrates were laid off. “To be quiet honest, malaria has gone down more than 45 percent. It has gone down more than 45 percent. In fact, because of that the Medical Research Council ( MRC) is closing some of its research stations. It’s one of the main reasons. They have laid off many of their workers. All is because mainly, the fact that malaria has gone down. Because malaria is being attacked in this country in different forms. We have the preventive part and the curative part. So we fighting the malarial situation in both sides. As a result of that, this have already been registered. It’s a very good news. It has gone down 45 percent,.”said the Former Health Minister. In this exclusive interview, Dr. Mbowe commented on recent media reports about acute drug shortages, mass exodus of Gambian nurses overseas, the “ CNN biased” reportage of the President’s aids cure, his beef with a Senegalese medical Scientist Dr. Mboob, among other topical issues. Freedom Newspaper: What can you tell us about the current acute drug shortages hitting The Gambia?
Dr. Mbowe: There is no hospital on this earth that can provide medicines for its entire patients. All the basic drugs are available here. Although, there are certain drugs that are not available, but that does not necessarily mean that there is an acute drug shortage. Government can’t get all the drugs.

EX- Nigerian Judge Justice Paul Under Fire!!!
As Lawyer Mai Fatty Rubbishes Paul’s “ Cheap Propaganda” Claims.
“Paul, the iconic hustler, opportunist and mercenary."
The catalogue of injustice perpetrated by Paul is endless, and here, I have not even succeeded in arriving at the pigeon hole. His departure from The Gambia Judiciary is opportunity for stock taking, and a classic text book authority on "How to satisfactorily abuse the Judicial Oath with enthusiastic gusto."Lawyer Mai Fatty, Writes from an undisclosed location.
By Mai N.K Fatty, Esq
Editor Mbai:
Many compliments!
Let me state in limine that one of the greatest ignominy of all times inflicted on the Gambian judiciary was the appointment of Madubuchi Paul to the Gambian Bench. I assert so with maximum authority, without any regrets and without a molecule reservation. Equally, I invite Paul to a public intellectual dwell as to the veracity of the greatest concoction of his life - that he served Gambians according to the Judicial Oath. Yes he did serve, but served the collectivity of Gambians the most potent poison ever from any judicial alter - a very versatile serpent that frished its malignant venom at the foundation of Gambian justice with near-irreparable impact.

More Condemnation Against Jammeh’s Anti Coup Speech!!!
…EX Junta Spokesman Calls For Legitimate Struggle To Remove Jammeh
Time to Confront the Dictatorship
“Now there is no question that Yahya Jammeh is a hopeless leader interested in nothing other than his selfish aggrandizement,.”argues Captain Alhagie Kanteh
Mr. Editor you said: “Finally, we call on Gambians to join us in denouncing Yahya Jammeh’s recent statement against his Guinean coupist brothers. Jammeh lacks the moral principle and authority to condemn coups. Once a criminal, always a criminal. Yahya Jammeh is a criminal hiding in the name of Democracy and Governance.”I can’t agree more that Professor Jammeh, as he is now falsely referred to, “is a cooking pot calling the kettle black” for volunteering to head the anti-coup crusade within the community of nations and by condemning the intervention in the Republic of Guinea.

The Secret Files Released!!!!
….Scales’s Firsthand Experience About Africa’s Con Artists!!!
Dear Mr. Editor,
During my early months in The Gambia, I was approached by two rather colourful Gentlemen from Sierra Leone ,dressed in rich African regalia and claiming to be Royal Princes. They said that they had heard that I was approachable and someone who could be trusted. They were accompanied by a young lady who was perhaps not to brightly dressed, but I remember her warm smile and her quiet and polite manner. They asked for a private meeting and I took them to my hotel room. I asked if they had eaten and ordered a three course meal for each by room service. We chatted pleasantly and ate together. I was intrigued by what should bring them in front of me. But by then I had learned the African way of patience and polite and reassuring conversation before getting to the point.

Freedom Editors Turn Down Request Made By Norwegian To Meet Banjul Reporters!!!!
…Editors Cite Security Concerns
By Kjersti Nelson, Norway
Dear Freedom Newspaper!
My name is Kjersti Nelson and I am a student from Norway.
I wonder if it is possible to meet one of your staff members, Mr. Bolong Jammeh or Mr. Landing Badjie on my visit to The Gambia? (2nd - 9th of February - 09).
I’m interested to learn more about news channels in The Gambia.
I’m very grateful if you can send me their contact information.
Friendly regards
Kjersti Nelson
Editors note: Thanks Mr. Nelson for showing interest in meeting our reporters in The Gambia. Regrettably, for security reasons, we are not at liberty to release the identities of the said reporters. As you may know, The Gambian local press is operating under hostile environment and therefore any attempt to blow the cover of these hardworking reporters might extend an invitation to the relevant authorities to target them for persecution.
That said, we advise that you liaise with The Gambia Press Union, the main journalist body, for any further assistance. Thanks.

Jammeh’s Coup Condemnation Attracts Angry Reaction!!!
…..Gambian University Student Says Jammeh Is A Hypocrite!!!
“Jammeh is suffering from mental illness and have definitely satisfies the litmus test for an irrational leader.”
“Apart from indulging in his usual foolish rhetoric, what have President Jammeh done to satisfy even the most basic needs of our people? Almost fifteen years after President Jammeh took power; uncertainty and fear still rule the Gambia. The freedom and justice that many Gambians worked for have been replaced by tyranny and oppression,.”argues Foday Darboe.
By Foday Darboe, Portland State University
Dear Editor:
In response to your recent publication “Jammeh Condemns Guinean Coup” I am very troubled by President Jammeh’s opposition to the coup in Guinea. I am not in any way supporting or condoning to any undemocratic take over of government by groups or individuals, but it is irrational for President Jammeh to condemn the coup in Guinea. As we all know President Jammeh himself toppled a democratically elected government. Jammeh’s rationale for overthrowing the government of Sir Dawda Jawara was to bring accountability and transparency in government activities; and improve economic and social developments. A similar view is echoed by the coup leader—Captain Moussa Dadis Camara. President Camara claim that “Embezzlement of public funds, general corruption, impunity established as a method of government and anarchy in the management of state affairs have eventually plunged our country into a catastrophic economic situation which is particularly tragic for the overwhelming majority of Guineans”. So, what is the difference between these two leaders? You be the judge!

Justice M A Paul Resigns, Following Attempt On His Life!!!
Justice Paul Says He Was Harassed By EX- Justice Minister Kebba Sanyang For Jailing Lawyer Antouman Gaye
....As Former Judge Made Scary Revelations!!!!
“ As Chairman 0f the Anti-Corruption Commission, I was sure that our decisions would ruffle many feathers. I was under no illusion about the fact that a meaningful Anti-Corruption work is like a blood sport, and without doubt the most dangerous work to do on the African continent and the world over” said Justice Paul as he is fondly referred to. He noted that he was aware that in the process of performing his responsibilities, he would undoubtedly confront and surmount a powerful force of elite conspiracy, with all its well -lubricated propaganda machinery, adding that he can not obfuscate the fact that the Gambia elites constitute a veritable obstacle to many well meaning social reform efforts.
By Gambia Parrot
Former Chairman of the Anti -Corruption Commission in The Gambia, Justice Paul Maduabuchi,a Nigerian has resigned his appointment as a judge of the Court of Appeal in that country , following persistent threat to his life, including attempts to kidnap his son. According to his letter of resignation, copy of which was made available to this reporter, through a source close to the Nigerian, indicated that since his appointments, he made extreme efforts to eradicate certain apparently endemic evils, which were prevalent in the judiciary and the society at large.
