Leaks from the State House in Banjul, say over five million dalasis were spent by government to cater for the high powered Moroccan delegation led by the King. Well placed authoritative sources told the Freedom Newspaper that the Moroccan guests numbering to over 400 were given VIP treatment by the Ruling APRC.

I believe  most of us have accepted the each others right to self-determination and association as a part and parcel of our struggle for the democratic transformation of the indidual Gambians and the nation as an entity. Some of these party leaders that made up the NADD leadership were reluctant to join the Alliance from the onset. They were virtually dragged into it by their respective executives and since they are the leaders of their parties, they had to follow the wishes of the majority in their

When Jammeh, came to power in July of 1994, he decided to disband the National Security Services (NSS) which doubted his citizenship. In order, to avoid Gambians challenging his citizenship, he hurriedly tampered with the constitution to suit his own selfish interest. He knew at the time that the old constitution, which he overthrew was not in his favor.

Over the years questions have been lingering in the minds of Gambians regarding the citizenship of Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh. Jammeh, himself claimed that he was born and raised in The Gambia, despite skepticism raised about his citizenship. Critics say he and his parents migrated into the tiny West African country, during his tender age. That Jammeh, was born in the Southern Province of Cassamance.
