Habib Mbye: I thank the good lord for this day and thank you for having me,  Ndombai. My name is Habib Mbye.  I am originally from the Banjul area migrated to the US since 1978, and proud to live in the Chocolate City and a # 1 fan of the Atlanta Falcons, Hawks, Thrashers, Silverbacks, The Dream, the world champions Braves and of course our local scorpions. I live here with my wife, Fatou, niece Aji, Sons, Saul and Pa Doudou, daughter Ndey Fatou and other close relatives. I am a Georgia Certified Power Plant Engineer employed by Fulton County Government as a division manager in the department of Environment and Community Development.

….OC COX CALLS HAMMADI A PARTNER IN DEVELOPMENT

 Dear Editor,

I wish to humbly clarify some of the issues raised by Hammadi Massinah in relation to Musa Mboob's alleged link to the killing of the late Ousman Sanneh. It could be recalled that Musa Mboob was the Regional Police Commissioner in North Bank Region based in Kerewan between 2002-2003 and later deployed to the Police Headquarters as Commissioner for Banjul and Operations respectively. Within six months, he was appointment Director General of the Immigration,  replacing Tamsir Jasseh. This was during the tenure of 13 Badjie. Musa excelled well at the Immigration and he changed the face of this department by motivating the staff by promoting them and he even created the positions of Commissioners of Immigration and several other positions. Musa will promote his staff every six months. Some police officers opted for transfers to the immigration due to the continues promotions there.

Benedict Jammeh the former Inspector General of Police has been appointment as a Magistrate and posted to Bundung Magistrate's Court following his unceremonious redeployment to the Judiciary Department from the Gambia Police Force.Ben Jammeh who was appointment as the Gambia's Police Chief in April 2007 replacing Musa Mboob, who was alledged to have killed Ousman Sanneh the late deputy Inspector General of Police, is a native of Kanilai and close relation to the Gambian dictator, Yahya Jammeh.

Mr Editor please allows me a space to express my opinion about certain quality people who deserve a second chance.As a concerned citizen of the Gambia, indeed a pro- supporter and I do agree with most of what the government do. Sometimes I am felt with deep sadness the ways some people are humiliated and trashed like empty rubbish cans. I kept asking myself this question, “WHY”?

The spectra of perennial fuel shortages is once again threatening to rear its ugly head in The Gambia as the country's population continues to grapple with soaring food prices.Filling stations in the Gambia's capital Banjul and one of the country's most populous municipality, KMC, are virtually inundated with vehicles as the population gears up for yet another fuel dearth.The looming Diesel crisis could pose massive locomotion problems and thus make life  unbearable for a large chunk of the population that depend on commuter vehicles as their means of transport.
