Editorial: Oil Discovery For The Gambia is Another Hoax!!
The oil that never was. Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has been lying about an oil discovery in the sores of the Gambia, but in reality there is no oil in this country. Mr. Jammeh should give up his unfinished lies for the sake of preserving the reputation of the Presidency. Gambians have long been treated as dummies by Jammeh. We can bet that come 2009, there wouldn’t be any oil mining in The Gambia. Jammeh is just buying time. He has failed miserably as a leader.

Re: 14 Year Old Basse Boy Rapes a PEACE CORPS Volunteer.
Dear Mr M’Bai:
On the 26th of December your newspaper published an incorrect incident reported by Mama Sowe, from Basse, stating that a 63 year old female US Peace Corps volunteer was involved in a rape in Basse. I’d like a retraction and correction made as soon as possible this week.
Peace Corps has many volunteers in the Gambia serving Gambian communities admirably nationally. However, Peace Corps currently does not have a 63 year old female volunteer in Basse, or anywhere in the Gambia. No Peace Corps Volunteer was involved in this incident, in Basse, as reported in the Freedom Newspaper December 26th 2007, by Mama Sowe.

The Banjul Figures versus Realties of The Gambia: Part Two: Feature Story Thursday, December 27, 2007 (317 reads)
The Banjul Figures versus Realties of The Gambia
Part II covering Fiscal Outturn, Monetary Policy, Prices, Foreign Exchange, Financial Sector, External Sector and Micro-Finance
Part I - I challenged Mr. Gaye’s facts and figures as largely erroneous and mostly without a measurable base in that country. Part II will cover those sections just mentioned above with similar analysis as to the figures and realities of that country. Next in sequence section is the fiscal outturn.
By Bunama Jammeh
Performance in this sector is measured in the amount of revenue earned and spent. Certainly, the state needs revenue to run its business. The source of any such revenue is the people of that state whether you contract a loan on their behave and/or direct taxation. Equally grants are for the people and not Yahya and/or any such person in a gown and/or black suit.

The Banjul Figures versus the Realties of The Gambia
Part I – Covering Introduction and Real Sector of the Domestic Economy
By Bunama Jammeh
Good and well executed plans and budgets are the base of success for organizations in this world of cut throat competition. This is true for countries likewise individuals like me and you. One reason quality of life of Gambians are not improved from independence to date is poor fiscal policies, bad monetary policies and above all poor plan and budgets. What our governments have been doing was to put together “a wish list” that is presented to the people through our representatives at the National Assembly in a two-hour jamboree. Neither the Minister and/or Secretary of State for Finance nor the deputies know what is put to them to make it into law. Hence, we continued to drop into deeper poverty while government continued to claim success in improving the economy.

Editorial: Jammeh Holds Editor M’Bai’s Family Under Hostage!!!
History is in the making in The Gambia. The recent arrest of Editor Mbai’s sister Kumba Mbye signals that the days of Yahya Jammeh’s Government is nearing an end. A teenager is being called a threat to state security. This means Pa Nderry’s new son too has been blacklisted by the NIA. For how long will this administration continue to live in fear? Arresting and prosecuting our family will never make us abandon this well intended media project we have for The Gambia and her people. The Freedom Newspaper is here to stay God willing. We refused to be intimidated by the powers that be.

“Initial Plans Were To Set Your House On Fire And Kill Anyone Who is in That Building.” says Lamarana Jallow
My identity is a major concern to Jammeh
By Lamarana Jallow, Son Of The Gambia.
My identity has been a major concern to the President and our counter intelligence unit. I know that they are working very hard to get hold of me. Some agents are even saying that our former DG is Lamarana Jallow. Some are pointing accusing fingers to Peter Singhatey, Army Commander Masaneh Kinteh and Edward Singhatey. They have been transferring agents from one unit to the other just to censor state secrets. I’m still here at the State House. As a former trainee of Russia, I can bet that our counter intelligence unit will not succeed in their bid to get me arrested. Will Jammeh believe that I supervised some of these very agents gathering intelligence about Lamarana? Even though my office is at the State House, I participate in our morning briefings. I know the plan which was reached to frame Kumba Mbye. There is an objective to this case.

Horomsi: Secret Killings At Kanilai!! Scary Details on the death of Army Chief Vincent Jatta!!
Former Army Chief of Staff Vincent Jatta was buried today. He died of stomach pain just like other jungullars: Musa Jammeh, Tumbul Tamba, and Solomon Jammeh. There are other inmates also on the verge of dying. Abdoulie Kujabi, Tamsir Jasseh, Foday Barry and other security detainees are in critical health conditions. These people are posed to die at any minute from now. I mean any minute from now. Vincent was privy to the killers of the Ghanaian Nationals in The Gambia in July of 2005. He knew the soldiers who killed these West African immigrants. What’s happening right now is the elimination of potential witnesses and state hired assassins. Ghana has the choice to expedite its case against Jammeh of The Gambia before potential witnesses in active duty are also secretly killed

“Drop all the frivolous charges against Ms. Kumba Mbai.” Says Pa Samba Jow Wednesday, December 26, 2007 (710 reads)
“Drop all the frivolous charges against Ms. Kumba Mbai.” Says Pa Samba Jow
By Pasamba Jow Coach
Once again, Jammeh’s authoritarian government and his henchmen are at it again. The arrest of Pa Nderry Mbai’s family is another outrage by this criminal government. It is quite disconcerting that this blatant attempt to intimidate Mr. Mbai into submission by arresting his family, whose only crime is their relation to Pa Nderry Mbai, came at the heels of the IMF declaring the Jammeh government qualified for the debt relief program. This again proves the absurdity of the IMF’s decision to reward Jammeh’s corrupt and tyrannical government with debt relief.
