Will The Minnesota Federal Courts Deliver Justice? Part 4

By Yero Jallow

“The invincibility of our cause and the certainty of our final victory are the impenetrable armor of those who consistently uphold their faith in freedom and justice in spite of political persecution” (Nelson Mandela. Culled from the web https://www.nelsonmandela.org/news/entry/i-am-prepared-to-die on 2/15/2015).  Part 4 of the series will focus on Alhagie Saidy Barrow. Perhaps Mandela’s legacy never fails to represent. What crime has Barrow committed? What will be considered true justice for him? What is his personality?

THE GAMBIA’S TWO NATION DILEMA AND JAMMEH’S VIEW OF GAMBIAN INDEPENDENCE!

THE GAMBIA’S TWO NATION DILEMA AND JAMMEH’S VIEW OF GAMBIAN INDEPENDENCE

BY EBOU NGUM, OUR EVERETT WASHINGTON CONTRIBUTOR

Mr. Editor, in the context of partition, separate nations emerge as a result of the fact that each country becomes an independent entity of its own. The partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 is a good example of how one state transformed itself into two independent nations (India and Pakistan). Subsequently, a third nation, Bangladesh also separated from Pakistan in 1971.  In the Gambian scenario, we have one country that has transformed itself into two nations in the eyes of President Yahya Jammeh. Geographically, the Gambia is still intact since the days of colonial rule and officially the country’s independence is 18thFebruary. Notwithstanding, the Gambia also celebrates another independence on July 22ndeach year and this in the eyes of Yahya Jammeh gave birth to another Gambian nation. So for that matter the two nation dilemma exists in the Gambia.

THE GAMBIA AT 50, GOLDEN JUBILEE OR JUBILATION: IS THERE ANYTHING TO CELEBRATE?

THE GAMBIA AT 50, GOLDEN JUBILEE OR JUBILATION: IS THERE ANYTHING TO CELEBRATE?

By A Concerned Student

The debate on the duration of colonialism and its impact is still on amongst academics from former colonies and colonizers as well as those from supposedly colonial buffer societies and I don’t see it settling soon. So far only 3 countries in Africa, namely Angola, Equatorial Guinea, and Mozambique are universally accepted by anthropologists and sociologists as entities that remained under colonial rule for 400 years or more. After about a century of colonial rule, the Gambia became semi independent in 1965.

GAMBIA! 50 YEARS OF NATIONHOOD!

A COUNTRY SITTING ON A TIME BOMB

By Seedy Ceesay.

Wednesday 18th February 2015, Gambia celebrates 50 years of Nationhood, our Golden Jubilee Independence Anniversary. My poor father will be turning in his grave asking himself the million dollar question... was this The Gambia they envisaged for us? I have no doubt in my mind his answer will be "no." What does Independence really mean for us? Before 1965, there was something missing for us as Gambians.  We were ruled by the Colonial powers where laws were made for us and we were subjects.

AD CIRCULATING IN BANJUL CALLING JAMMEH THE LION OF JUDAH AHEAD OF FIFTY YEARS OF DEPENDENCY!!!

AD CIRCULATING IN BANJUL CALLING JAMMEH THE LION OF JUDAH AHEAD OF FIFTY YEARS OF DEPENDENCY!!!

The fanfare is euphoric in Banjul. An AD banner equating the Kanilai jester with the lion of Judas has been circulating. Check Manyima Bojang's Facebook status and you will come to terms about what I am talking about. We have few days before Gambia's "dependency 50th so called Golden Jubilee." In my book, there is no independence worthy of commemoration in The Gambia. Thirty years of relative peace, freedom, respect for fundamental liberties, and economic prosperity under Jawara's watch is worthy of celebrating and not Jammeh's misplaced priority twenty years of backwardness. The twenty years of Jammeh rule spells doom for Gambia and her poverty stricken oppressed people.

MOMODOU NJAI – GAMBIANS ARE PEACEFUL, YAHYA JAMMEH IS BELLIGERENT, BRUTAL AND A TYRANT!

MOMODOU NJAI – GAMBIANS ARE PEACEFUL, YAHYA JAMMEH IS BELLIGERENT, BRUTAL AND A TYRANT

GAMBIA IS A FAILED STATE AND A “POTEMKIN VILLAGE”

BY AN INSIDER BANJUL

Pa,

First, congratulations once again to Freedom Radio for giving Gambians the opportunity to cross-fertilize ideas.  Yours is a household name insofar as Gambian matters are concerned. Gambians cannot wait the dawning of a new era/republic when we will replicate in Banjul the platform your medium, and many others have institutionalized in our body politic. Listening to another of Momodou Njai’s recent interviews on Freedom Radio, the young man comes across as naïve, misinformed – whether deliberate or employing deception – about Gambian affairs. In my opinion, Mr. Njai is ill-equipped to bring to fruition some of his 10-point far-fetched plans or ideals.  Mr. Njie has demonstrated a very reactionary and bullish attitude to debate.

This week, HRC ran a full-page advertisement in the local Potomac, MD newspaper The Gazette highlighting the horrific anti-LGBT human rights abuses of Gambian President Yahya Jammeh. Jammeh owns a home in the suburban community that is reported to be worth $3.5 million. “The citizens of Potomac should know that an individual with a truly horrific anti-LGBT human rights record lives just a few doors down from them,” said Ty Cobb, Director of HRC Global. “Those who target LGBT people, throw them in prison, and subject them to torture should not be welcome in our towns, our neighborhoods, or our country. We hope that this ad raises awareness about President Jammeh and the state of human rights in The Gambia.”

AUSTIN ALLEGED COUP CHIEF FINANCIER AND "WANNA BE" GAMBIAN PRESIDENT CHERNO NJIE TO APPEAR BEFORE A MINNESOTA FEDERAL COURT TODAY!!

The chief financier and would be Gambian President in the failed December 30 coup against the autocratic regime of dictator Yahya Jammeh, Mr. Cherno Njie has been scheduled to appear before a Minnesota Federal court today after weeks of detention in Oklahoma without court bail, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The Austin Estate Developer was identified by the FEDS in a criminal complaint as the main man, who financed the coup in The Gambia, which left an American National Guard Captain Njaga Jagne, and also a former Gambian Army Lieutenant Colonel Lamin Sanneh, dead.  Both Jagne and Sanneh used to live in the US prior to their recent sojourn to topple the regime of Yahya Jammeh.
