The Gambia Has Now Become A "Donor Nation;" As Jammeh Donates Half A Million Dollars To Guinea To Help Combat Ebola!!

Dr. Zakir Naik Tells The West To Redefine Terrorism; As He Charges That Western Terror Activities Against Other Nations Are Often Ignored!!!

The impoverished nation of The Gambia has now been transformed as a "donor nation." Its delusional leader Yahya Jammeh is messing his hands into the country's already bankrupt Treasury to extend financial help to Ebola embattled nations in the sub-region. The latest country to benefit from Gambia's aid money after Sierra Leone is Guinea Conakry. The Gambia government has donated half a million United States dollars to the Guinean government to help fight Ebola.  In a press release issued by the President's office on Thursday, dictator Yahya Jammeh ordered for the disbursement of half a million dollars to help Guinea combat the deadly Ebola virus. Jammeh assured the Guinean leader of Gambia's commitment to compliment Guinea's efforts to kick Ebola out of the continent.  Sierra Leone happens to be the first nation in the sub-region to benefit from Gambia's Ebola aid money; to be followed by Guinea Conakry. In total, the Gambia under the leadership of the Kanilai jester, has so far donated $1 Million US dollars (one million United States dollars) towards Ebola eradication in the region.

BREAKING NEWS: HAJJ 2014: TIME TO BREAK THE MONOPOLY IN HAJJ OPERATIONS; IMAM FATTY EXPOSED!!!

HAJJ 2014: TIME TO BREAK THE MONOPOLY IN HAJJ OPERATIONS; IMAM FATTY EXPOSED!!!

By: A Concerned Pilgrim

Every year, millions of Islamic men and women, of all races from all over the world, gather for the same ritual of performing the Hajj. Muslims started observing the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, which can be described as the greatest gathering of mankind, well over fourteen hundred years since the farewell pilgrimage of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Hajj is one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam. The other four pillars are belief in God and His Prophet, Mohammad (PBUH), five obligatory daily prayers at appointed times, fasting in the month of Ramadan for 29 or 30 days and alms giving. Hajj is obligatory once in a lifetime, upon male and female adults who are physically and mentally fit and have the means necessary to do the hajj. This means you do not have to seek for assistance from anybody or take a loan to perform it. This year’s hajj has put GIA under blistering criticism by pilgrims who are complaining of untold hardships and lack of interest in their welfare by officials and their appointed hajj guides. These accusations ranged from deliberately omitting the names of some pilgrims from the approved lists of would be travelers to bad scheduling of flights to and from Mecca.

BREAKING NEWS: JAMMEH ASKS VISITING INDIAN SCHOLAR DR. ZAKIR NAIK WHETHER IT IS OKAY FOR MALE MUSLIMS TO MARRY WOMEN WHO LOST THEIR VIRGINITY!!!

JAMMEH ASKS VISITING INDIAN SCHOLAR DR. ZAKIR NAIK WHETHER IT IS OKAY FOR MALE MUSLIMS TO MARRY WOMEN WHO LOST THEIR VIRGINITY!!!

By Pa Nderry M'Bai

A visiting Indian Islamic scholar and preacher Dr. Zakir Naik, who spent over five hours last night taking questions from a sizeable APRC crowd on Islamic related issues, was confronted on stage by his host Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, who asked him "whether it is Islamic for Muslims to marry women who lost their virginity before getting married." The scholar at first could not dissect the rationality of Jammeh's question. He struggles to figure out the gist of Jammeh's weird question. Jammeh had to interrupt the scholar by repeating the question for a second time to enable the controversial Indian preacher to comprehend his query. " My question is: I want to know whether it is permissible by Islam for Muslim men to marry women, who have lost their virginity before getting married," Jammeh rhetorically asked Dr. Naik.  Hell broke loose, as the entire gathering including GRTS viewers around the world were taken aback by Jammeh's question. Many were of the view that Jammeh's question was "inappropriate and should not come from a person of a sitting President." Well, the irrational Kaniali jester never seizes to surprise his countrymen. Some even contend that Jammeh's question was meant to malign and ridicule women folks. They argued that the dictator has once again demonstrated his lack of respect for women folks.

In Search of Unity: The Elusive Quest for a Leader, and a Unitary Organization Among Diaspora Gambians

In Search of Unity: The Elusive Quest for a Leader, and a Unitary Organization Among Diaspora Gambians

By Abdoulaye Saine

Aspirations among many diaspora-Gambians for a single leader to head a unified organization, is at best daunting, if not a futile charge. This does not mean various groups could not unite on key principles, and issues under a functional umbrella organization with each group enjoying relative autonomy. The assumptions that drive the quest for a single leader, and organization, are: “we are all Gambians,” and, as such,“we are all the same,” and, therefore,“we can, and must unite.” While Gambians share cultural, religious, and other markers, they are also differentiated along: ethnic, gender, class, religious, regional, party, and individual interests. This is, in part, the result of social and economic changes occurring in Gambia for the last half century, if not longer. Traditional Gambian society, likewise, was highly stratified along caste, gender, ethnicity, and trade. Predictably, these new, and older social divisions, to some degree, have stood in the way of a collective Gambian national consciousness, and unity.

HAS THE SUPREME COURT DECISION IN TENNESSE V. GARNER OVERSHADOWED THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE BY THE POLICE?

HAS THE SUPREME COURT DECISION IN TENNESSE V. GARNER OVERSHADOWED THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE BY THE POLICE?

BY EBOU NGUM, OUR EVERETT WASHINGTON CONTRIBUTOR

Mr. Editor, I am not writing an expert opinion on the subject matter of deadly force. I am writing from a moral standpoint as to how use of deadly force by the Police can be confused with reasonable force as provided under the Fourth Amendment.  The Memphis Statute on the use of deadly force on fleeing felons had undermined the protective clause under the Fourth Amendment. Until the advent of Tennessee v. Garner, in 1974, the unnecessary use of deadly force was an inherent right for the Police. The Memphis Tennessee Statute had given the Police a carte blanche rule to use deadly force, in other words shoot and kill a person and still get away with it.

Three blind Men describe an elephant. Islam versus Christianity.

By A Concerned Gambian

Contributing to the passionate debate on Dr. Zakir Naik’s comments, there were excellent points raised, and as a Christian I deeply appreciate the respect accorded by Pa Nderry and many callers to our  faith. However religious debate can raise passionate feelings on all sides which can easily degenerate into intolerance, abuse and hatred. Gambia is too small a country for the religious hatreds and conflicts flaring up in many countries such as Nigeria so our traditional mutual tolerance should not be lost, on Freedom or in Gambia. In order to debate an answer it is essential  to understand the questions and the background of Dr. Zakir. Today’s article in Freedom shows that Dr. Zakir was answering questions by APRC members in a political gathering.

Mr. Bojang, who was sacked, detained and brutally tortured while under NIA custody about a year ago, later took up employment with Sheriff Bojang's Standard Newspaper as a reporter. He was hired by the Standard as a Staff Reporter, cum Islamic columnist. His Islamic column at the Standard was titled  the "Friday Khutbah." Mr. Bojang has not been showing up for work for weeks now. EX Presidential Affairs Minister Momodou Sabally Remanded At Mile Two Prisons, As Prosecution Fails To Show Up In Court!!!

A visibly pale looking former Secretary General and Presidential Affairs Minister Momodou Sabally appeared in court this morning before Justice Amadi, amid the absence of the state prosecutor to proceed with his case.  No reason was given for the prosecution's absence in court. Mr. Sabally's lawyer announces his representation for the embattled former Jammeh's close aide. After brief appearance before the dock, Justice Amadi of the High Court ordered for the accused person Momodou Sabally to be remanded at the mile two prison until the next court sitting. The case was adjourned for October 22, 2014. Sabally was subsequently put on board a waiting prison truck and remanded to mile two prisons.

BREAKING NEWS: MORE RESIGNATIONS AT THE JUDICIARY; JAMMEH RESCINDS DECISION TO EXPEL MRC GAMBIA!!

MORE RESIGNATIONS AT THE JUDICIARY; JAMMEH RESCINDS DECISION TO EXPEL MRC GAMBIA!!

Dictator Yahya Jammeh's onetime solid grip of the impoverished West African nation of The Gambia, is now becoming a thing of the past. Jammeh's power base is eroding on a daily basis. His trusted lieutenants, confidants and aides first opened the floodgates for the desertions, when two of his most loyal aides: Yusupha Sanneh and Tijan Bojang abandoned him in his New York Hotel, while attending the UN General Assembly Summit here.  As we report, some Judicial officials have joined the fray. There is massive resignations at the Judiciary, with some judicial officials absconding from the jurisdiction of The Gambia. Too bad for dictator Jammeh! Everyone is leaving. Two more Gambian magistrates have resigned.  They are Chike Foster and Sydney O. Kennedy, both Gambian.  Their resignations followed Lamin Mbaye's and Mr. Small.  Many Gambian magistrates and judges are disillusioned amid the pressure and interference. As such, principled magistrates and judicial staffers are leaving the judiciary.
