New Revelations on the Murder of Daba and others:Daba Marena & Co: the guards are talking Sunday, September 16, 2007 (2266 reads)
This story has exhaustively been covered but there is still this piece that
Town Crier wants Gambians to know. Two weeks ago I was on weekends at
Janjanbureh. At night fall, we went out to a friend's house to while away
our time. It was here that I encountered a prison guard. We discussed the
pros and cons of the government we all serve and during those
exchanges, the guard blurted out that Daba and Co were definitely killed.

The Lunatic Presidency and the irrelevant cabinet, the Electric broom at work again. Another Justice Minister again-by Casandara Sunday, September 16, 2007 (1427 reads)
Sorry for not coming last week because of a new job I started with the federal Judiciary of the United States.
It is quite disheartening that cabinet Secretaries are being hired and fired and exchanged by Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia as if changing his big Kaftans. Again the country witnessed another cabinet reshuffle and again there is a new Justice Minister.Jammeh does not mind who is a Secretary of State as long as there is a human figure in the position. From making career teachers Tourism ministers, Village Heads at Local Government, drunkards at the heart of our economy and now a judicial figure at the works and communications.

Michael Scales on Sankanu Sunday, September 16, 2007 (276 reads)
By Michael Scales, Uk
(53).jpg) Dear Mr.Editor,
I must admit to missing a lot of fun here on freedom of late ,due to having to travel to the next time zone to find a qualified dentist...such is the decline of the British Empire. The battle of wits between the Prince of Light {Sankanu} and the Prince of Peace [The Watch Tower]..leads me to the conclusion that one was smacked on the bottom at birth and the other on the head.? It is up to the viewpoint of the viewer to judge which was which ? As an innocent bystander who promotes peace and light i would suggest i am therefore unqualified as a babysitter, but i do know how to change a nappy, even my own.Thank the whiteman for disposable technology {pampers} The world, especially Africa..is not so overcrowded to support the views of both in friendly disagreement.I would suggest both need a good night out .If the invitation is open..i would be gald to make up a threesome and share the bill....I have some slightly used Dolche and Gabana jeans in black lycra ....that should stretch to everyones needs....for the evening... and a bundle of english humour to which i will explain the punchline ???? Now let me see..Have you heard the one about the 3 legged chicken ?
Put down the handbags ..... kiss and make up.... Michael.

LETTER TO SANKANU’S BABYSITTER FROM THE WATCHMAN Saturday, September 15, 2007 (618 reads)
LETTER TO SANKANU’S BABYSITTER FROM THE WATCHMAN
Dear babysitter: I have adopted an orphan named Sankanu. He is a very difficult kid to deal with so before I drop him off at the nursery tomorrow please take note of his following bad habits: 1. He has a very hard time controlling his emotions. Understandably, this is an infant characteristic but baby Sankanu takes it to extremes. Watch how you tell him “no” because if it becomes apparent he can’t get his way, he throws a fit and makes terrible faces. This can scare the other well-behaved kids and embarrass me as a parent.

Breaking News:"I,m Innocent" Says the accused GFA Secretary Jammeh Bojang Friday, September 14, 2007 (1590 reads)
Dear Editor,
In recent days, I have been reading incredible stories on my character re-produced on some online newspapers like www.allafrica.com and your your widely read www.freedomnewspaper.com. Please allow me space to refute the baseless allegations reported by Modou Nyang of the FOROYAA newspaper that I have absconded to the United Kingdom with an unexpressed amount of GFA funds.

Breaking News:FJC'S Application for a Degree Programme at the University of The Gambia Rejected! Thursday, September 13, 2007 (1285 reads)
FJC'S Application for a Degree Programme at the University of The Gambia Rejected!
..University authorities say the disgraced Speaker lack the required qualifications to be admitted
Interestingly enough, FJC has been tremendously disappointed by the decision of the Admission board to reject her application. Rather than accepting the fact that she is simply not academically qualified, FJC has been fuming and spitting fire, exclaiming that the Admission Board is biased. In her outrage she had denounced the system, claiming that she had sacrificed her entire life for the APRC and yet still she is not treated fairly. She had slammed the decision of the Board to accept Edward Singateh's application while rejecting outright her application. Well I do not know exactly what happened in relation to Singateh's application, but some of the civil servants within the state department had told me that Edu was their contemporary at the Sixth Form in Gambia High School. This probably means that Edu, unlike FJC can at least boast of six O Level credits, and who knows, probably two A Level passes.

.jpg) In the midst of poverty, there is plenty; on the dry desert an oasis is present; in the sanctuary of the wicked, corrupt and ungodly, there still dwells the RIGHTEOUS.Country men and country women, it is difficult to come across the true Gambian these days. It is pathetic to state that a very tiny fraction of our brothers and sisters, had allowed themselves to be corrupted, used and misused, so as to be elevate to higher positions within the civil service. These few loud and empty barrels are the frequently seen in society as they spend most of their time trying to win the admiration of our good citizens, with sweet talks, lies and perfunctory black slaps. These parrots are the ones who Yahya Jammeh foolishly calls patriots. The true patriots of this country however, continue to work behind the scene with utmost honesty and diligence and without fear of intimidation. Such people are rare to see in Banjul these days but they are still here in their great numbers within our midst.
