Editorial: Is President Jammeh A True Muslim? Discriminating the opposition during Ramadan!

Is President Jammeh A True Muslim? Discriminating the opposition during Ramadan!

For many years Jammeh's faith as a Muslim has been put to question. Many are not convinced if President Jammeh is a true Muslim as he claimed. Beside, the atrocities linked to him, Jammeh is openly spreading hate messages at this time of the holly month of Ramadan. This is a month in which Muslims are expected to reconcile their differences and avoid committing any act of sin. Considering the holiness of the month, the least we expect from President Jammeh was to unite the country and not to sow seeds of discord  in the impoverished West African country. Jammeh Jinlanka has once again proven his skeptics right by demonstrating that he is not a true believer. After looting our nation's coffers, Jammeh is dishing out sugar, rice and other handouts to poor Muslims in The Gambia. Interestingly, Jammeh is using the gift distribution to discriminate against opposition supporters. He told his errand boys that opposition supporters should not benefit from his Ramadan gift. Hear Jammeh in this statement"
President Jammeh warned the Regional Governors receiving the gift on behalf of their region to be honest when distributing to avoid problem. It is not for sale and it is not for the oppositions supporters."he said.

As Controversy Surrounds VP Njie Saidy's Position-More Gambians Rally Behind Adama Deen!

Gambian Mamsait Sonko Says Deen Could Be A Better VP And Therefore Calls For Total Clean UP Of The Rotten Jammeh System....

We Look At The Freedom Newspaper Early Mail Bag......

             By Mamsait Sonko

Pa Nderry, In regards to your story of Mr. Adama Deen in pole position in replacing Isatou Njie-Saidy in President Jammeh's new administration, I do not know whether the story is true or not. But what I know is that, that move by Jammeh is a sign of showing to the Gambian people that he is a new man and new government. This will eventually make the Gambian people regain their love and loyalty to him. This is because people in his current government need to go. Corruption is rampant and we need serious changes to take effect. I do not know Mr. Deen in person but according to what I have heard about him before his unjust removal from GPA, he is a man that is very dedicated to what he is doing. He is not the best but since he left GPA, the people of Banjul being my witness have seen the downfall of the Ports. Mr. Gibba is a very poor man when it comes to management and this has lead to people doing whatsoever they want which is definitely what President Jammeh I think doesn't like. So, if it is really true, then I hope we will see a bright future under President Jammeh for the next 5 years to come. Thanks you Pa Nderry. P.S. Pls show my name because I don't feel insecured. Am safe. Thank you. Mamsait

Monday, October 16, 2006 (1011 reads)

Following our lead story on Jammeh's planned move to effect some changes in his cabinet, some concerned Gambians have emailed this paper volunteering information regarding the would be next Vice President. Two readers claimed that they gathered that former Gambia Ports Authority Managing Director Adama Deen was being groomed to replace Isatou Njie Saidy. The views expressed in this mail don't represent the position of the Freedom Newspaper. We are not treating the said info as news item but an opinion provided by fans of this paper. Our team of editors and reporters are keenly following developments in Banjul and shall keep you posted once we are done with our investigations. In the meantime, Mr.Deen is free to set the records straight if  he feels that  the said opinion mails are inaccurate. Below are the letters received by our news room. Please read on.....

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Nino Viera not to be fooled with Hummers,Sekou Toure's villas where Jammeh angered Nino.
Saturday, October 14, 2006 (1170 reads)

Hummers to Bissau still no solution? Why is President Jammeh's own mouth his enemy number one?
The Gambia's President's enemy number one is his own mouth. President Jammeh might have forgotten what he did and said but Nino hasn't. When Nino Viera was removed from power many people believed he lived in Lisbon Portugal but that wasn't the actual case. He used to visit Lisbon and had good links there but his base was in Guinea Conakry. He was residing at a place called Belle Vue. This is an area where the late President Sekou Toure built villas to welcome African heads of state during an OAU summit. These villas are still there being used for the same purpose that is,welcoming heads of state on either private or official visits to Guinea.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Tumbul Tamba,Late Alieu Sallah similar cases-Death at state house once again?
Saturday, October 14, 2006 (1266 reads)

Tumbul Tamba's family contemplates on apologising to people he wronged in the past...while he cannot talk on his hospital bed...
As this monster's case is getting more and more worrisome for his close relatives, they are increasingly thinking about doing anything to get him on his feet again. The good and bad side of the story touches on both sides. On one hand Tumbul's situation is a case in point that can remind people about two things. There are, first-not to be so evil against their fellow country men and women in defense of President Jammeh the super monster. On the other hand it is a good example for those who thought that President Jammeh's useless and nonsensical so-called charms can protect them when the inevitable powers of the supreme being strike. Tumbul's family is too late to understand what pain means. How many fathers and mothers has Tumbul the little monster killed so far in defense of the chief monster President Jammeh? So many. Tumbul killed Daba Marenah and then broke Abdoulie Kujabi's leg during torture sessions. Tumbul was one of those who master minded the death of late Koro Ceesay.

Breaking News:President Jammeh Might Not Attend This Year's Hajj-Reveals A State House Insider!

            New Batch Of Junglers Released.....

A Member Of Jammeh's Protocol Team Says "All Future Trips Will Now Be Handled By The VP And The Foreign Minister!

Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh might not attend this year's pilgrimage scheduled to take place in  Mecca later this year due to increasing fear of insecurity within the Presidency, said well placed sources at the state house in Banjul. The President who claimed to have foiled a coup in March has suspended all overseas travels for now, our sources added. Invitation extended to him by the Iranian leader to visit his country was also put on hold until further notice. State House sources say the Gambian leader "is living in increasing fear and uncertainty". Despite the recent changes at the state guards continued my source, the President entertains the belief that there are still some rebel soldiers "within" whose loyalty he questioned. The source said some soldiers suspected of being close to army fugitive Ndure Cham were moved to other army units while being placed under close surveillance.
