A top official of Gambia's Immigration Department, has informed the Freedom Newspaper about a  recent "secret issuance of State Identity Cards" to non Gambians with the sole aim of giving them an opportunity to secure voters cards in the country's 2006, October Presidential elections. The insider intimated that those issued with ID Cards were mainly from the Southern  Province of Casamance, Senegal.
