Breaking News: Ex Information Minister Macwdowl Gaye Defrauds The US Health Care System!!!!!
…..As Neneh Owes $US 20,000 Hospital Bills
“ She must settle the unpaid debt before she could be accredited to the US,.”said our source.
TIJAN MASSANEH CEESAY’S CREDIT CARD DEBT DELAYED HIS ACCREDITATION TO WASHINGTON.
The erstwhile Secretary of state for Information Neneh Macwdowl Gaye is owing the United States Health Care System $US 20,000, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively reveal. The sum in question represents unpaid hospital bills owed by the former Minister. Ms. Gaye, who is the Managing Director of the Daily Observer, traveled to the US in 2005 to deliver at a Washington DC hospital. But to the chagrin of Hospital authorities, the sacked Minister abruptly left the country, without paying for the said bills, totaling at $US20,000 dollars. The unpaid hospital bills affected Neneh Macwdowl’s admission into the United States as a Diplomat, said our sources. Ms. Gaye is required to settle the said debt before the State Department could give clearance for her admission into the country as a Diplomat.

And Then came Barack Obama!
By Saul Saidykhan, saulskhan@yahoo.com
Twelve Thanksgiving holidays ago, my wife and I were invited by some friends of ours in Gaithersburg, MD to a small get-together in their apartment. As native Africans, we are social animals, and while American holidays like Thanksgiving have no special meaning to us, they afford us the opportunity to get together, be ourselves, and ward off the omnipresent homesickness in this sometimes-harsh foreign land.

Fatim Badjie: The Minister Who Dare Challenges The Banjul Mafia!!!
….SOS Badjie Got Fired For Refusing To Sell GAMTEL To A Lebanese Company
Jammeh Being Remote Controlled By Bazzi and Amadou Samba
Facts are emerging at this hour regarding the circumstances surrounding Fatim Badjie’s removal from office. A highly placed source close to the corridors of power in Banjul, said Fatim Badjie should be hailed by Gambians for her courageous move in refusing to be used by the Banjul mafia to sell the nation’s main telecommunication giant GAMTEL to a Lebanese bogus company, whose economic base is questionable by all standards. Fatim according to our well trusted source in the heart of the Jammeh Government, had suffered numerous pressure from the powers that be to sell GAMTEL to a Lebanese business firm, shortly after the cancellation of the Spectrum Group contract with Government. Fatim, until a week before her sacking, was not satisfied with the Lebanese companies, which moved in to takeover GAMTEL. She got fired for blocking the President and his fellow mafia operatives from pursuing their set goal-that’s to mortgage GAMTEL.

London Letter: My Dear Uncle, the enigmatic ‘Silent Londoner’, the handsome Prince of Brikama. Friday, February 06, 2009 (960 reads)

Halake Hits Back At Sheriff Bojang
London Letter: My Dear Uncle, the enigmatic ‘Silent Londoner’, the handsome Prince of Brikama.
Editor,
Firstly, Editor, my thoughts this morning are with my good friend Pap Saine of the POINT and his family. I hope and pray all ends well for him as it did for me last year.
For this piece, Editor, I have decided to use a photo of my younger days – as my Uncle does! (If he won’t use his up-to-date photo as everyone does, why shouldn’t an old man like me give him a photo-challenge? I say to him “sorry Uncle, in my prime none of the pretty girls in Brikama would look at you twice if standing besides me!”)
I want to leave the last words of this exciting debate with my Uncle. Believe me I have enjoyed mixing it with my much younger Uncle but honestly, I promise to leave Uncle alone after this – obviously two rounds with an old man with only one good leg seems too much for him! As you can see from his piece below, Uncle seems to spend too much time with his head buried in the dictionary looking for big words. As the poet of ages gone by said, dear Uncle, “Look not for words but thought, and the words will come flooding in unsought”.
So here is Uncle’s last piece, with my last comments underlined.
“There’s hardly anything in your philippics to warrant my response bar a few points.
Your problem with me started when you sent me some prolix comments about someone you picked a fight with and I told you in no uncertain terms I wasn’t interested in your idiocy. We sparred and exchanged a few choice words.

The Senegambia News Congratulates Freedom Newspaper Friday, February 06, 2009 (326 reads)
The Senegambia News Congratulates Freedom Newspaper
Senegambia News wishes to congratulate our sister online paper, The Freedom Newspaper on the occasion of its 3rd anniversary Celebration. The task at hand today for Gambian online papers is no less daunting than those faced by early African newspapers in the 1950s and 1960s, who championed the causes of freedom and justice for our people during colonial days. The situation in the Gambia today could in fact, be likened to the days of slavery. We therefore, more than ever before, need to work in unision to inform our people who have for 14 long years been deprived of their rights to be accurately informed about the businesses of 'their government'. Let's continue to tell them the true nature of Yahya Jammeh's government; it's brutality, corruption, nepotism and selfishness.
The importance of our papers could not be overemphasized. Gambians all over the world have, with the proliferation of multiple online papers, the opportunity to get information from their homeland that they would otherwise not have had if they were to rely on government censored news.
Nonetheless, we, the editors and publishers, have a moral responsibility to accurately inform the masses we set out to serve without bias, or ill-will. We must pursue the ideals of true journalism that is devoid of personal attacks and petty talks, lest we would fall short of our full measure.
The common enemy here, is Yahya Jammeh and his henchmen, who continue to murder, torture, arrest and detain Gambian citizens at will, and without any justifications.
Let's continue fighting for the causes of justice and democracy; and history will surely be on our side. Keep up the struggle and congratulations, Pa.
Your comrades in struggle,
The Senegambia News Team.

Is Jammeh an ignoramus President??? Scales Will Tell You More!!
Dear Mr. Editor,
There is much that I would respect about Professor Jammeh's leadership, and their is certainly. much that I recognize. It is now some 2 years since I entered "Freedoms " door.....with the opening statement...." How many snowballs do you throw at a raging inferno to put out the fire". This statement recognized the clenched fist holding The Gambia by the throat without a cuss for the Constitution or the rule of Law. It was foreign to me but I recognized its origin and more lately its chameleon like change into the world of International marketing and what we British call "Spin". As someone who turned £1248 into half a million pounds in 5 years...perhaps you may care to listen a little further?
