Colleagues

It is indeed, a pleasure and an honour to witness the fifth triennial congress of the GPU as secretary general.  Many of our colleagues who were voted in with us are out of the country in some circumstances against their wish, so I am privileged to have been able to ride the rough and stormy seas.

GPU Congress dubbed a success

The Gambia Press Union on Saturday 22nd of March has come under one room to iron out their differences and forge a way forward. It was indeed a dirty laundry session as the GPU executive and its members from 9a.m to 10 p. m, under the help of the IEC (The Independent Electoral Commission) hammered barrages of accusations, attacks and counter attacks as they elect their new members for the executive and discuss internal and external threats and issues.

Who says Daily Observer is not part of the NIA? They have coded "feeders" too!

By Hammadi Maasinah

In Banjul these days everything goes as far as it is geared towards maintaining the APRC in power by any means necessary. That is why the formular they use is the same formular anyone or any group of people who want to remove them from power should use. There is no need to crack one's head as to what can bring Yahya Jammeh down to the ground because he is already on  his knees. Simply continue using his methods against him. He may know what to do when it comes to using those methods in his favor but he certainly does not know what to expect when these very methods are used to his disadvantage. Ask yourselves.. How was Milosevic brought down? How was Adolph Hitler brought down? How was Sadam Hussein brought down? These characters used force to spread an agenda therefore that very force is what they understand! It was used against them to the satisfaction of those they oppressed before. It is water that causes waves. That means: "no water no waves, no waves no water". Yahya uses people who love money and identity; we also will be spending much more on those people to get into his bedroom. It works; it is working and will be working God willing. Yahya and his pseudo-agents will come to realize the side effects of what they do sooner than later.

Breaking News: As Jammeh’s Mental Health Worsen, Palace Coup Imminent!!

……President Jammeh And Major General Tamba Reached A Palace Coup Deal

Speaker FJC Coordinating The Succession Process- Reveals  A Perm Sec!!

By Justice Sam and MB Ceesay, Banjul

Due to his ailing health condition, The Gambia Leader Yahya Jammeh is considering handing over the country to Major General Lang Tombong Tamba, sources close to corridors of power have revealed today. The President, who is said to be suffering from mental health problems, has reached a deal with Major General Tamba to handover the country to him sooner or later. The change of Government would come in the form of palace coup, according to these highly placed sources monitoring the President’s activities. “The general feeling here is that the President is mad. Few days ago, he called us and said one of his devils is on the loose and was capable of causing harm to Gambians. Everybody in cabinet were taken aback by the President’s statement. The Vice President, including the former SOS Neneh Mawdowl Gaye were all crying. We are also worried about the President’s ailing health. His mind is unstable, as he lives in constant fear and anxiety. The President had asked Major General Tamba to oversee the country for him during our meeting. He told Lang that the country was in his hands, as he Jammeh was busy searching for the missing devil. No one knows what such searches might led him to. The devil, he said was Jammeh’s  most favorite devil. It’s matter of time for Lang to execute the palace coup.” Said a permanent Secretary at the office of the President.

BREAKING NEWS: Yahya Jammeh’s Coup Against GPU Foiled!!!

Ndeye Tapha Sosseh  Is The New GPU President!!

Point’s Ebrima Swaneh Concede Defeat

       By Malamin N. Makalo

In what appeared to be a foiled coup against the Gambia Press Union, members of the journalist body Saturday unanimously elected Ndey Tapha Sosseh, as the Union’s new President. Jammeh’s sponsored candidates were disqualified well before the race proper started due to their appalling past records and lack of support. The general membership of the GPU refused to allow Pro-Government journalists to hijack the main journalist umbrella in the West African country. Dida Halaki and his group could not made it, as they failed to meet the necessary requirements. Months of well planned coup against the GPU has failed.

BREAKING NEWS:Tensions Mount Among Gambian Students In Taipei Over President’s Euro 5000 gift!!  Disgruntled Student Briefs Editor M’Bai

By A Concerned Gambian Student In Taiwan

Pa, this is the latest development on the Euro 5000 that the President gave us since the 7th of December 2007. The money is causing a lot of commotion and tension among the students  here in Taiwan. The petroleum group wanted their share of the money for their graduation party for June this year. Some are calling for the wholesome euro5000 (which is NTD230,000) Taiwanese Dollars  to organize  a party, and Pa these are the very people who are failing their subjects here. Some of their subjects has to be downgraded for them to cope. Some are even on probation. Others wanted their share of the money for feeding and to buy toiletries.

Yahya's Demonic Announcement:-Town Crier Writes

As the dust was settling over Banjul following the demonic announcement by mad Yahya, the lunatic (100% Master Demon) struck again by sacking and redeploying some secretaries of State. For a person who calls himself a president of a state to go on  national TV and announce of  a so called demonic feud has never been heard of. This reminds us of the types of late Idi Amin of Uganda, Charles Taylor of Liberia and Emperor Jean Bendel Bokassa of Central African Republic. Some of these infamous men have done things never unthought-of by the human race. It is claimed that some of them have tasted human flesh. And if the signs we are seeing in Banjul are anything to go by, Yahya is not far from eating human flesh one day.

Shifting the gears of a static car-Can Yahya Jammeh be blaming the hired, the redeployed and the fired?

By Hammadi Maasina

Shifting the gears of a static car-Can Yahya Jammeh be blaming the hired, the redeployed and the fired?

There is this entrenched chemistry of evil and nothing but evil that is kept deep below the chest of reflections, within the Yahya Jammeh camp. It is quiet obvious that facts are facts. Even where theologies or sacred words differ or are parallel, facts always converge. It is unthinkable for anyone to try changing the colours of facts after they have been established. Facts can either be accepted or refused within the mind of the beholder but they can never be different when it comes to seeing the results that are dripping from activities.

The Life Of Kenbugut Kisse: A Short Story Worth

Reading- Part Two!!

Kenbugut Kisse likes going out with fat women. Kisse and I went to a business lady’s house last spring. Before reaching the woman’s house, Kisse had already strategized what needs to be done. “ Jarga, I am going to meet one of my girl friends today. You wait for me at the sitting room, okay!! I want to deal with this lady tonight. She will know that I am the man in Dekalambatu. She would live  to respect me. I am ready to take her all night long Jarga.” Kisse tells me. Looking at his fat belly, I wondered if Kisse was going to make it. As soon as we walked into  Mam Kani’s room, Kisse started trembling. “ Antareh, come in Kisse. Furnekunbaytimebee.”  Mam Kani asked Kisse. Meaning, where were you. Kisse scratched his big head and remarked “ Mam, I was stocked in the traffic. Besides, this is my guest from Kerremandumbay. He is the son of the King. His father had asked me to look out for him. I am very busy with his paper works, because the town clerk wants me to attest that he was born in Kerrmandubay.” Mam Kani became agitated by Kisse’s irrelevant rantings. “ Kisse, you know what, I have no time for story telling. I am not interested to know all what you are talking about. Let move to the bed room, that is what you are here for. I respect your guest, but I do not think you need to disclose his private matters to me. Are you ready for me tonight Kisse? Le move to the bed room.” Said Mam Kani.
