Michael Scales Hails Justice Minister Saine For Her Competency!!!!
By Michael Scales, UK
Dear Mr. Editor,
Taking the statement by The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, at "face value" I cannot fail to conclude that Ms. Marie Firdause Saine, is indeed the type of Barrister at Law who is extremely capable and competent. I would go so far as to say, I have seen her kind many times before within the British Judicial system. Such a Barrister, is a very formidable opponent indeed. I recall I wrote previously about her advanced legal conduct when she was confronted by His Excellency The British High Commissioner at The Corinthia Atlantic Hotel. On that day, His Excellency made it known that he had an interest in the in the Carnegie/Charles Northfield case and offered his view that Mr. Northfield was merely "A Scapegoat". At that meeting, the then Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Crispin Grey Johnson was making rash statements as to the guilt of Carnegie, indicating {rather recklessly} that Carnegie had been "stealing." Ms. M.F.Saine at that point quickly closed down the meeting, as I believed she realized that to make such statements, made by such a High Profile Government employee, could be judged as prejudicial to the Plaintiffs case and to the Defendants right to a fair trial. It is recorded that His Excellency President Jammeh was reported in The Daily Observer making exactly the same allegations.

Cash show in Banjul: A President and D80M market cash, shopping malls, cement, bread and threats!!!
Big stinks and money laundering galore
The blitz of unbridled inundation of President Yahya Jammeh's obsession with scandals, corruption, brutality and usurpation of the entire nation into a one-man entity replete with shows like a television reality that never ends, the demons in Banjul have returned to 'Daddy's House' once again. News just in from Banjul tell of a scathing tale of massive corruption and money laundering scandal spearheaded by President Yahya Jammeh. Apparently, the Gambian leader, the richest man in the sub region, has not only turned himself into a powerful tycoon, but has used his business portfolio to continue to steal Gambians' money, inflate the markets and worse still, send the local businessmen home to roost.

Breaking News: Journalist Yaya Dampha reacts to government's statement on Chief Manneh Thursday, April 09, 2009 (1055 reads)
Journalist Yaya Dampha reacts to government's statement on Chief Manneh
- Dampha calls Attorney General a 'continental' liar
- Says he saw Manneh in government custody
I read with a heavy heart, the response of the Gambian secretary of state for Justice on the whereabouts of JOURNALIST CHIEF EBRIMA MANNEH. In fact, judging by media publications home and abroad, it's only the freedom newspaper that brings me to tangible conclusions, because going by what other newspapers write, one tends to have the impression that Manneh was never arrested by the Gambia government. There are living witnesses who were present on that faithful July 6, 2006 when two security agents walked in to the Daily Observer, arrested Chief Manneh and took him to Bakau Police Station. According to those present, Chief Manneh went with the belief that he committed no crime so he would be coming back soon. I have personally seen his bag that he left on his desk the day he was arrested.

Birth Certificate Registrar Confirms Pap Saine’s Citizenship!!!
….Prosecution Witness Dawda says Pap Saine’s Birth Certificate Is Valid
By Staff Writer Baba Ndoye, Banjul
A lead witness in the Pap Saine citizenship trial yesterday made an interesting revelation when he confirmed the citizenship of the embattled journalist. Prosecution witness Dawda Leigh, an official of the Health Ministry, in a grand style testimony gave a vivid account about the authenticity of Saine’s citizenship credentials, which is being disputed by The Gambian state. Appearing before magistrate George in Banjul, Leigh adduced that Pap Saine obtained his birth certificate in 1974 in Banjul. The witness said there are health records available to attest to his testimony. Leigh’s revelations brought a major setback to the prosecution case as he already discredited the validity of the state’s claims that Pap Saine is not a Gambian citizen.

The Gambian Government has officially confirmed the death of journalist Ebrima Chief Manneh, as Justice Sectary Marie Saine Fardues said her office had made fruitless efforts to locate the whereabouts of the missing journalist without success. Minister Marie Saine said she has personally contacted virtually all security agencies in the country, with the view of establishing Manneh’s whereabouts, but was told by the respective security chiefs that the journalist was not under their custody. “I have inquired from the director general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Inspector General of Police and the Commissioner of Prison, and to the best of their knowledge, information and belief, Chief Manneh is not in their custody. The State can only release a person from custody, if he or she is in fact in the custody of the State,” Marie Saine tells Members of National Assembly. The Minister’s declaration confirmed fears expressed in some quarters that the journalist might have been secretly executed by the state.

Dear Mr. Editor,
May I share in the immense pride that is to The Honour of The Gambia. Our Baby Scorpions have rewarded the faith of so many by winning The African Youth Cup in Algeria. This comes as no surprise to me, for the seeds of success were sown many years ago.
