PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Tumbul Tamba cursed, bewitched or misled by President Jammeh himself?
Thursday, October 12, 2006 (1026 reads)

Tumbul Tamba within the spirits of "Haar Yallah" ward at RVH...?
This is no longer a hidden secret. In the streets of Banjul many are whispering about Tumbul Tamba's present predicament. Be it Tumbul himself or not let the state house goons be informed that we already know someone close to President Jammeh is nearing his grave at the RVH. Sources have revealed that President Jammeh's close circle is denying that Tumbul is at the RVH. On the other hand facts have clearly indicated who is on the hospital bed. Tumbul's own relatives have started blaming one another. Some are bitter because they are so furious over what has befallen their next of kin blaming this latest sad situation on President Jammeh himself. This sad family is now reflecting on what happened to the Kujabis. They are beginning to see the light. One of Tumbul's family members said this..."If Yaya can chew the meat of Abdoulie Kujabi,James and Ansumana will he spare Tumbul?" Some of Tumbul's family members believe that he was struck by an evil spell. They blame President Jammeh for this because they are angry over the way he has been using Tamba to carry out a lot of evil things against innocent people.

Why President Jammeh cannot win the confidence of Nino Viera...
Details reaching me have once again revealed scary and worrisome pitfalls. It has been revealed that a former rebel leader and the first Gambian son who brought blood birth on Gambian soil following the departure of colonialists Mr Kukoie Samba Sanyang was arrested in Guinea Bissau's capital about a month ago. Sanyang was arrested for what sources are calling serious security threats or reasons on one side. On the other side there are sources revealing  that,he was arrested to be used as a pawn in exhange of Salif Sadio the Casamance rebel leader. Many people believe Sadio is currently being fed and sheltered by President Jammeh in The Gambia.

The Gambian Bar Association Under Whose Services?

The Rule Of Law Under Constant Attacks While The Old Guard Watch by!

Freedom Editors Welcome The Release Of MP Duta Kamaso-While Thanking Lawyer Touray, Camara And Mboge For Defending Humanity...

The management of the Freedom Newspaper welcomed the release of the detained Wuli MP Duta Kamaso. Our courts are working these days. The trial judge's declaration that the liberties and rights of the detainees be respected by the government of the day is very encouraging. This is what we expect from our courts. The courts are the last hope for the citizenry and its independence is of crucial importance in any true functioning democracy. In the first place, it was wrong for the government to allow to be compelled to release the detainees. For this government to be taken seriously, it must allow the rule of law to take it cause on people accused. This civilized way of sentencing people without trial is an affront to our laws. Gambians should stand up to be counted to end this constitutional and rights violations taking place in our dear country.

We are indeed disappointed but not down for good-Says STGDP on the elections results!
Wednesday, October 11, 2006 (438 reads)

Press Release:

The General elections of 2006 is now history, and STGDP join the entire Gambian community to echo our disappointment and hearth ache with the results of the presidential elections. As an organization, our mission is to see the adoption of an election process whereby there is a reasonable level playing field, the building blocs of democracy, and ultimately the Gambian people having the final say in the outcome of all elections. Presidential elections 2006 were far from that. The registration process – an important component to a free and fair election was the first sign of weakness in the process, and the beginning of the fraud.

Mami Minteh's Lead Story Creates A Big Controversy And Confusion in Raleigh!Editors Clarify

Mami Minteh's Lead Story Creates A Big Controversy And Confusion in Raleigh!

Freedom Editors Received Numerious Calls From Concerned Gambians...

Editors Refused To Entertain Enquiries Relating To The Source Of The Story, As They Vowed To Defend The Said Piece In Any Future Litigation......

newpanderry1.jpg
Our lead story on Mami Minteh Touray was greeted with mixed reaction. This editor received numerous phone calls from people who claimed to have been offended by the piece and demanded to know the source of the said piece. We politely told the callers that as journalists, we do not reveal our sources and would do whatever it takes to protect such loyal and dependable sources. The said piece was published in good faith without malice or ill will. None of the people so far named as the Freedom Newspaper sources in Raleigh were not the actual sources anyway. Mami Minteh Touray has called some people in Raleigh calling them names. She accused them of being an informant to our editor. There is a big confusion among the Gambian community in Raleigh and back home in the Gambia. The source of the said damning piece is the billion dollar question to figure out. Let Mami and her group keep second guessing, but the Freedom Newspaper crew  cannot help them with answers. We are not in the business of sacrificing our sources and therefore no amount of threat can make us bow down. The ongoing black mail to link certain decent Gambians and non Gambians in Raleigh to the said story is an act of hypocrisy and smear campaign. The said people have no link to the piece and we are ready to take full responsibility of our actions. The offended parties are free to seek legal redress, as we committed no crime whatsoever. We merely performed what is expected of us as  independent journalists.

Tuesday, October 10, 2006 (572 reads)

State Dispensation: Part 1

Now that the much anticipated Presidential election is history, Gambisara wish to take this opportunity to congratulate Dr. Alhagie Yaya Abdul Aziz James Junkung Jammeh for successfully rigging the elections in his favor. I wish you a good luck in anticipation of developing the Gambia to higher heights as you promised in your meet-the-people tour which you used as your campaign. I equally thank Lang Tombong Tamba and the entire security chiefs for aiding their commander-in-chief by intimidating the voters, seizing their voter cards, thus making them unable to vote on the election date. Again, my regards to the entire security services for ensuring a peaceful election.

The Release MP Was Accused By The State As An Informant To The Freedom Newspaper!

High Court Deplores The Right Abuses In The Gambia, While Urging The Gov't To Respect The Rights And Liberties Of The Detainees...

A Sizable Crowd Of Well Wishers  And Sympathizers Converged At Duta Kamaso's Tabokoto  Home!

By Staff Writer Karafa Badjie

News just came in that the detained former Wuli MP Duta Kamaso has regained her freedom after been granted bail by the high court in Banjul. The expelled MP spent six months behind bars without been charged with any offence. She was linked to having ties with the Raleigh based Freedom Newspaper, an allegation she flatly denied. Prior to her release, her son Ousman Saidykhan launched a personate appeal to President Jammeh few weeks ago calling on the Gambian leader to set her mum free in the spirit of Ramadan. Madam Kamaso was granted bail by the court which deplored her continued detention without trial. Attempts made by the state to block the bail application failed as the court held that the detainee deserves the right to bail. People who saw the former MP say Duta appeared very weak and pale. She suffered mental torture while in custody and was denied access to her family. A sizable crowd of well wishers converged at Duta Kamaso Tabokoto home where they sympathized with the former MP. The MP who appeared focused has been a strong promoter of women rights and education in the impoverished West African country.
