Touray was too hot for these money launderers. He refuses to be used by the owners of Spectrum Investment Group Holding, whose so called corporate offices is situated in Beirut Lebanon. The new owners were not comfortable with Touray’s uncompromising stance on accountability. That funds released from the new business venture most be properly accounted for, before wiring them to Lebanon. Little did Mr.Touray knows that Yahya Jammeh is a majority shareholder to this new telecommunication venture. His wife Zeinab Suma Jammeh too had family ties with the owners of Spectrum. Head Master Tamba Fofana has also been released from custody. Mr.Tamba who was accused of supporting the opposition United Democratic Party was released along side with Rambo and others. The men were held on alleged security matters, even though the dictatorship failed to file any charges against them. Sources close to the UDP have deplored the continued of these men without trial. In what appeared to be a Presidential gesture to free political prisoners, the detained UDP official Ousaman Jatta, alias Rambo has been released from custody after spending one year behind bars at Sar Ngai police station, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Rambo was released alongside with the CCF official Kanyiba Kanyi. The popular politician who appeared confident traveled many hours before he could access his family in Bakau. Mr. Jatta who was in an excited mood said he thanked God for giving him chance to reunite with his family. Mr. Willy Joof, Permanent Secretary No. 1 at the Department of State for Foreign Affairs, has been removed from office with immediate effect, reliable sources informed this paper. Mr. Joof was also invited for questioning at the police Headquarters in Banjul yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Joof’s invitation for questioning follows that of Bala Garba Jahumpa, Batata Juwara, Bai Ousman Secka and Tijan Bah, all former officials of the Department of State for Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Joof, according to our source, is being questioned in connection with administrative matters, following a petition against him.

Abdoulie John, a journalist working for the Banjul-based pro-government "Daily Observer" newspaper, was on October 9, 2007 dismissed by the Managing Director, Saja Taal. John is the fourth journalist to be sacked from the "Daily Observer" in recent months.Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) sources reported that the journalist was sacked for corresponding for a foreign media. The disgraced former Foreign Minister Bala Garba Jahumapa widely known as the action man has been set free by the Gambian police amid allegations that the Minister conspired with Bai Ousman Secka, Batata Juwara and others to defraud the state by engaging in passport scam. The office of the Inspector General of police has dropped charges against Bala Garba Jahumpa, while the remaining accused persons are awaiting their fate in the courts. Police Spokesman Sulayman Secka told the Freedom Newspaper Correspondent that Mr.Jahumpa was the only accused person cleared from any wrongdoing. Inspector Secka Jahumpa said have no case to answer as far as the said case was concerned. “Our investigations did not link Bala Jahumpa to any fraud. He has been freed. Instructions were given for the charges brought against Balla be dropped. The other accused persons are to go to court based on what the evidence gathered against them.” said the police spokesman.
