Fish shortage hits The Gambia

As Senegalese fishermen go on break

The past two days has seen complete shortage in Gambian markets due to the absence of Senegales fishermen's absence on the seas. Women and families have not seen fish on their plates these past days due to the absence of Senegalese fishermen on the high seas. The situation has forced a lot to reserve their 'Tobaski' meat as they eat it little by little if they have electricity.

There are disturbing allegations reaching our news desk at this hour. The Gambian Government has been accused of spearheading the gruesome murder of the Senegalese religious leader Sheriff Samsudeen Hydara. While we treat such accusations as mere allegations, the onus lies on the authorities in Banjul to clear its image on such wild allegations. Banjul must convince the authorities in Dakar that it have no hands in such cowardly and dastardly act. It should also help the Senegalese investigators to apprehend the perpetrators of such an heinous crime.

Darboe/Bah To Address Press Conference Monday!!

Gambia’s main opposition United Democratic Party led Alliance has filed court papers in the High Court in Banjul challenging the constitutionalty of the recently passed Local Government Act, which gave sweeping powers to President Jammeh to hire and fire local authorities, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. The UDP/NRP Alliance who are supposed to convene a press conference Monday at their Party Bureau in Banjul, will formally inform their party supporters, admirers and well-wishers about their decision to challenge what our sources called such a bad and draconian law.

Another Jungullar Major Solomon Jammeh Dies !!

It’s been a bad year for President Yahya Jammeh’s hit squad. Barely few weeks after the demise of his most favorite killer Major Musa Jammeh, the state house today buried another leading jungullar major Solomon Jammeh, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Major Solomon  Jammeh died following a brief illness. He was third in command at the Kanilai jungllar’s camp. Soloum was working hand in hand with the sacked Italian body guard Francisco Caso. During the period in question Caso trained Soloum and co on demostic terrorism activities.
