POEM:-PREJUDICE IS NOT JUSTICE. Monday, May 22, 2006 (360 reads)
Author:- Essa Bokarr SEY.
Prejudice is not the judiciary.
Fermented and bitter wishes are perfect tablets for prejudice.
Aren't some of us found where your perceptions know not?
Do not judge in that dark lodge.
Do not lock your lodge with grudge.

Essa Bokaar Sey, the son of pen,
a great mind.

How did we get ourselves into this Mess; the Opposition’s Political impasse: Which Way Forward?

The forthcoming presidential election of 2006 is a defining factor in the politics of The Gambia, bearing the promise of a choice of regime to ordinary Gambians for a new democratic dispensation under the leadership of a reconfigured new alliance between the NADD and UDP/NRP. NADD was established on 17 January by five major opposition parties, which to this purpose signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in preparation for the October 2006 presidential polls.

Darboe’s resignation in January 2006, contrary to the pronouncements he made in Chicago in September 2005, following the July visit of some NADD executive members in the US, was another blow against NADD.

Jammeh the richest African President-He owns Africell, Gamworks,Observer, Kairaba Hotel and other businesses
Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh is richer than the state. Jammeh owns most of the private institutions in that West African country. From GAMWORKS, Africell, the Daily Observer Newspaper, a local construction company named withheld for now, the Kairaba Beach Hotel, and other assets outside The Gambian frontiers. His Moroccan and Guinean assets are still fresh in our minds. Our investigations revealed that Jammeh is a shareholder to most of these companies mentioned. He uses people close to him as “ front” to act on his behalf.

Editorial:The Banjul A.U. Conference: Wrong Place, Wrong Time. Sunday, May 21, 2006 (579 reads)
EDITORIAL
The hosting of a gathering of Africa's Heads of States should under normal circumstances be an occasion of national pride, but for us in The Gambia, it is instead a manifestation of the disconnect between the regime and the people of our country. Barely two months have passed since a coup was reportedly foiled, and the spate of arrests, detentions, tortures and summary executions that followed, have left a large segment of our population in no mood to celebrate.

Gambia is not the right place for the AU Summit

The agreement of my neighbour and me
is to trade in love
we bartered at the Nyambai junction
before the free auction launch
he owes me a wife and two dazzling babies
my good neighbour needs no more
but the hot back of my new girl
to dine with the hard apples.

Good Morning, Mr.President, Baba Jobe says you were part and parcel of the "blood diamond and gun running scandal" Sunday, May 21, 2006 (668 reads)
Good Morning, Mr. President,
Mr. President, you will be shocked to learn that Baba Jobe told students who went to his Jarra farm, some years ago that both of you were part of the arms and blood diamond deal. Jobe told students that the arms were indeed trafficked through our ports , citing national interest for such an action. One the of the students, who disclosed this classified state information to the Freedom Newspaper, was helped by Baba Jobe to study in Cuba. The student name withheld was among the last batch of Gambian students sent to Cuba, thanks to Baba Jobe’s so called magnanimity. During a meeting with the NAPSA students, Jobe bragged that the government was part and parcel of the deal and he Jobe could not have carried out the operation without the blessing of the executive. Our source told us that Baba even went as far as saying that the President’s plane trafficked the arms and some of which were stationed in the country.

Jammeh, Sedat Jobe and Baboucarr Blaize Jagne lied to the UN about Baba Jobe's blood diamond indictment-The UN should consider handing over Jammeh to the Sierra Leone court, in the interest of justice and fair play. Baba Jobe says Jammeh was part and parcel of the arms deal!!!

Draft Author: Benjamin Hofstatter (May 2001) implicated certain West African leaders for having directly or indirectly contributed to the Sierra Leonean diamond deal. It would be recalled that President Jammeh’s personal jet the new millennium was indicted alongside with Baba Jobe for gun running and the sale of blood diamonds. This latest report will sake the Presidency in Banjul, as the writer gave vivid account about how these diamonds were smuggled. Banjul was classified as transit point by the writer. These are very damaging revelations so to speak. Please read on….
The diamond trade contributes significantly to the private sector economies of many African nations. The vast majority of rough diamonds extracted in Africa are monitored in legitimate fashion by government agencies. However, some rough diamonds originate in areas controlled by rebels and evade proper monitoring. These "conflict diamonds," which help finance the violent activities of outlaws, enter the world's legitimate supply of diamonds between the time of extraction and the point at which they are processed. The trade in conflict diamonds has become a significant threat to stability in West Africa largely because of Charles Ghankay Taylor, the president of Liberia.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-What people eat & drink at Mile Two. Saturday, May 20, 2006 (760 reads)
Sources have started penetrating the thick walls of Mile Two Central Prisons.
Under President Jammeh's regime dying is better than being in Mile Two. Mile Two is worse than Eyadema's croccodile pools and Sekou Touray's camp Boiroh combined. I spoke to reliabe sources last night. Mile Two isnt hard and painful. President Jammeh is a very very wicked person. I know for certain that there are bad things happening to those detainees behind the dark walls of Mile Two. Sometimes surprises are more shocking than knowing the reality from the beginning.

Baba Jobe, a confirmed inmate. He knows what it takes to be a prisoner at Mile Two.
