Horomsi:The NIA "surveillance" on internet users-Gamtel's Omar Ndow/Jah hate to see Freedom blocked!!! Friday, June 09, 2006 (914 reads)
Horomsi: Leaks from the NIA says the state had beefed up security surveillance in the country, in a bid to crack down people using internet cafes to dispatch private correspondence abroad. The idea of this surveillance said the NIA official was geared towards cracking down on people suspected of “releasing damaging information” about the President and his government. The NIA official said security daily briefings these days centered on monitoring Quantum Net and other private internet service providers across the country. Two or three NIA officials are stationed in internet cafes and in some instances to pose as regular customers. A Quantum Net local operator told Hormosi that the “ unusual NIA visits in their business complex is scaring many customers.

Ndow and Jah cannot help but to execute Jammeh's order to block the Freedom Newspaper!!!!

Editorial
A NATION IN FEAR
The Gambian Nation is in fear; fear of the whip of the power that be.Though eyes are wide open, lips are sealed and ink does not flow. Some are even scared to cough. Fear of the whip has clouded our hearts and minds to the extent that we cannot speak or write the truth. Even lawyers are too scared to defend the law. Public servants clock in and out of work not knowing when the axe will fall on them. Journalists and internet users are turned into slaves of self-censorship for fear of being picked up and treated like bandits treat their captives. This atmosphere continues to prevail as the unwarranted arrests and continued detention beyond 72 hours go on unabated. Such a picture sickens the nation and undermines its integrity. The president should put a stop to this trend.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh' State guard s-Lt Isatou Sanyang absconds to Germany
Lt Mama Njie from 'ataya' brewer to Senior officer at the State Guard.
An interesting story surrounds Lt Mama Njie a female soldier at the State guard. Lt Mama Njie is from Talindingkunjang. She is about 6ft tall. She was chosen to rise above the ranks for very silly reasons. According to our state house source Mama Njie is personally very close to the big man President Jammeh. She serves as a state guard and another hidden purpose inside the premises.

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-The ordeal of a detainee, who watches the point newspaper? Friday, June 09, 2006 (909 reads)
PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-The ordeal of a detainee, who watches the point newspaper?
The ordeal of a detainee who came face-to-face with President Jammeh's Chiakas.
What is obvious here is that President Jammeh has succeeded in terrorising the citizens of our country men and women. For Gambians President Jammeh equals to a man of threats and insults on Gambia Television. From 1994 to date no Gambian can quote a single speech where President skipped sending threats to the people he calls his voters. If a President is bent on feeding his own voters with threats then how can we ever convince that the elections in his country are free and fair? The coming elections are going to be conducted through fear and threats. The same fear and threats are polluting every corner in The Gambia.

Jammeh's chickas exposed!!!

I have lost credibility with many people by attempting to negotiate empty deals for The Gambia-Jerrod Mustaf Thursday, June 08, 2006 (888 reads)
I have lost credibility with many people by attempting to negotiate empty deals for The Gambia- Jerrod Mustaf
"I was empowered by His Excellency to negotiate for the building of a sports complex, to bring entertainers and artists to The Gambia. I expressed my concern that my reputation be protected in the event that I initiated dialogue with architects, artists, entertainers or business executives on behalf of The Gambia. My concern was that I would be left without an explanation of why The Gambia didn’t complete the deal and that I would damage my business relationships. At the present state, I have lost credibility with many people by attempting to negotiate empty deals for The Gambia. How do I recover that lost business? This is not the time or forum to detail every complaint that I have but, I will look to discuss at a later date."These were the words of Jerrod Mustaf, President of the street Basketball Association, cum Gambia’s sports Ambassador.

Has Jammeh duped Jerrod Mustaf?

PANORAMA with 'Bulfaaleh'-Serious cracks in The Gambia, threats to sub regional security.
Inside Banjul tears,torture,questionable happiness?
For the past days silence has been my tool. There are so many things happening in The Gambia these days. These are things one cannot write about in an irresponsible way. The best thing to do is nothing less than gathering pieces and pieces against the incumbent government. The government is scared to death but pretending to be upbeat. They aren't near zeal or keen interest when it comes to addressing public concerns.

Freedom Newspaper Mail Bag-What our dear readers say today!!! Thursday, June 08, 2006 (367 reads)
By Chat boy Shakopee, Minnesota
Once again my fellow Gambians, freedom to express one's views and obtain information is a natural right of every human being. Anyone who tries to interferes with this right of an individual is obviously fooling himself. Dear readers, for the past two weeks since the daily observer published the nonsense report some APRC members in US have been threatening me through phone calls. If a person like me in US is threatened you can imagine the condition of people in the Gambia. In my opinion I think they are cowards. Something to take note is that the ones who are troubled and lacked self confidence are the ones who resort to aggressive tactics in order to hide their insecurity. On the contrary, the actions of a wise individual is characterized by calmness and reservation. If you observe the actions of "King" Jammeh, it is easy to see that it is his aggressive tactics are oozing with insecurity and desperation.
