Brikama Magistrate Courts Turns Down Fatou Jaw Manneh's case!!!
....Magistrate Sends case Back To Banjul
State Law Office Files An Appeal Against the Banjul Magistrate courts ruling
By A Staff Writer
Judicial staff in Brikama have refused to hear the Sedition case involving the US based Gambian journalist Fatou Jaw Manneh, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. The case which suffered yet another setback was earlier last month dismissed by a local Magistrate in Banjul on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction to hear the mater. The Magistrate transferred the case to Brikama for fresh hearing, but judicial officials there have refused to preside over the case. The office of the Chief Justice was notified by the judicial officials concerned about their intention not to hear Fatou Jaw Manneh's case. The issue of jurisdiction again became a major contention. Judicial sources in Brikama say that court lacks the jurisdiction to hear the matter. Consequently, they returned the case file to Banjul for further action.

Breaking News:Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh has fallen-Three taxi drivers escape death!! Sunday, September 09, 2007 (1211 reads)

The Scene at Westfield: Picture taken by our Correspondent.
By Correspondent Famara Jammeh, Banjul.
Paid for and commissioned by the Freedom Newspaper.
It appears that the Government of President Yahya Jammeh is nearing to an end, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. While there is no solution to the country's ailing economy, nature is sending early warnings to the dictatorship. The fall of Africa's most brutal dictator is imminent. Gambia's biggest signboard widely known as billboard, which featured the beam picture of President Yahya Jammeh and his wife First Lady Zeinab Suma Jammeh nearly claim the lives of innocent passersby and motorists along the busy intersection of West Field junction. An unexpected wind swept the signboard, which nearly claim the lives of three cap drivers chilling in their cars, while patiently waiting for possible customers. The signboard which also featured the embattled SLOK AIR, owned by the disgraced former Nigerian Governor Kalu was forced on the ground by heavy rains. The entire country is talking about the fall of Jammeh's signboard. Many here believe that the fall of the signboard was an early signal from nature-God on the inevitable fall of President Jammeh. Ruling APRC officials and supporters have been voicing their concern over the fall of the signboard. " This is bad sign for the President and our Government. There is likelihood of a regime change in this country. God is sending us early warnings by taking this pillar down. From the President, down to the last man in cabinet is worried. There are many billboards around that area, but the only one affected was the one carrying HE'S image. I don't know when HE will leave, but the writings are on the wall for all to see." said an official of the APRC.

Gambians get ready D84000 mecca ticket rate at of 21.50 conversion shows dalasi still weak! In Saturday, September 08, 2007 (602 reads)
By Hammadi Maasinah.
Digging through the layers of the stratified heaps in Banjul is so tedious a duty to perform. When the central bank rang its jingle bells loud sirens came to send irritating sounds into our ear drums again. So much noise without results. This matches one of Murphy's laws on what he said about..."All said and done..." Murphy's laws do not agree with the root here. The laws say after all has been said done, so much is left to be said or done. This is why the same laws gave us another bitter pill by pulling reality from a place where everything is said to be alright. Murphy's laws did touch on that too. Of course these laws are right because in a place "where everything is said to be alright then there is something wrong"! Nature itself is not perfect. This is why perfection is not human. This is why "the infallibility of man is indispensable.." So this why philosophy saw wisdom in concensus if harmony is to prevail.

I Am Destroying The Myths Of Westminster And The Capitol – Sankanu!
By Bubacarr Sankanu, Germany
Hello Pa Nderry Mbai,
I felt once more vindicated and knighted after realizing that our Elizabethan Gentleman Micheal Scales, Esquire, is among the greatest, most prominent and dedicated members of my growing fan club! I can say anyone who wants to see the problems of Gambia solved within the contexts of proactive debate, peaceful dialogue, decency and decorum loves the Gambia beyond all reasonable doubts. Michael you are a true Gambian by heart. I do write within a dense offline schedule hence the petty omission or addition errors. Notwithstanding, I will keep all my fans, aligned with the various online Gambian papers, happy by maintaining my crazy taboo-breaking edutainment style; my energy permitting!

Senegal awards third mobile licence to Sudatel-Why didn't Banjul be so transparent? Saturday, September 08, 2007 (633 reads)
Hammadi Maasinah.
When comparing apples with lemons this is what we get as results. Even before reaching the frontiers of Europe a closest neighbour has taught Yahya Jammeh another lesson on what investment, transparency and attracting investment really entails. What a shame for those trying to justify investing under Yahya. Next we will realise the essence of buying airtime and other implications connected to this telephone-business. Senegal had television well before The Gambia when Yahya Jammeh was running in the bushes of Buluf or whereever he was. Eventhough everything is not rosy in Dakar at least "civility" reasons with "concensus" sometimes. Mistakes must be allowed but not always. A simple old dictum that means a lot! This simple dictum carries the cap that fits the devil at home. It is so pleasing to hear what happened in Dakar.
