Mami Minteh's Last Minute Snub Against  Some Raleigh Women Exposed!

Complaining Ladies Describe Mami's Last Minute Snub As A Sign Of "UNGRATEFULNESS AND BETRAYAL."

Disgruntled Ladies Say They Extended Help To The Minister's Wife While She Was In The US...

The wife of Gambia's Secretary of State For Agriculture Mami Minteh Touray has offended some women in Raleigh, NC. These women are openly complaining about what they called Mami's "Ungrateful and last minute snub" game she played against  them before her departure. These women claimed to have helped Mami a lot while she was here to deliver. There is a  lot of talk these days regarding Mami's sudden change of heart. The women told the Freedom Newspaper that they were taken aback about Mami's last minute snub. They talked about giving her ride and gold chains and rings during her naming ceremony. While it is none of our business to take up someone's fight, it is our  moral duty to expose complaints forwarded by  our concern readers. It's up to Mami to defend her self on these damning allegations.

Poem:THE LETHAL REDEEMER

By Associate Editor Yankuba Jambang

THE LETHAL REDEEMER

Many years had gone by
still I was in static inertia
many years had gone by,
still I was in utopia;
yet I had my tongue
many years had gone by
yet I had my belly

And a Friday morning came
with a new man to redeem-
a man with scripture;
a man with sword
and with sweet utterances-
like a skylark, I flutter
and like penguins, we danced and hovered

Breaking News:Commander Of Jammeh's Hit Squad Captain Tumbul Tamba hospitalised!
Saturday, October 07, 2006 (1157 reads)

Breaking News: Jammeh's Hitman Captain Tumbul Tamba Hospitalised

One of President Jammeh's hit men and close confidant Captain Tumbul Tamba is said to be between life and death, as the soldier is reported to be in a critical health condition at this hour. Tamba  is badly hit by what sources called a mysterious disease. Admitted at the Royal Victoria Hospital Teaching Hospital, Tamba hardly communicates with his loved ones and colleagues, as he struggles on his hospital bed. Captain Tamba who was recently named in the mass execution of Daba Marena and four others was spotted at the RVTH while undergoing treatment. It is not clear at this hour about the exact disease Tamba is suffering from, but what is evident is that Tamba has been placed under constant monitoring by doctors. While hospital authorities were not available to shed light on Tamba's ailing health condition, a source who spoke to this reporter said the entire state house has been devastated by  Tamba's sudden illness. "No one seems to know what is wrong with him. Everybody has lost hope on Tumbul. We doubt it if he will make it. This is very sad. He is getting from bad to worse." said our source.
Jammeh and musa Jammeh.jpg

Meanwhile, the Freedom Newspaper has gathered that the state house is trying to down play Tumbul's hospitalization. State house sources say Tumbul's hospitalization has created some panic among the junglers. While some blamed Tumbul's ailing health to spiritual work, others believe that it might as well be a curse against the Captain. This paper will continue to follow the story, as we gather more facts. Please stay tuned.

The Gambia:UN envoy says recent elections were free but democracy needs support

General Abubakr
6 October 2006 Although the recent presidential election in the Gambia was relatively free and fair, the tiny West African country needs international support to help strengthen its democratic institutions, build up opposition political parties and ensure its media are vigorous, well-trained and independent, the United Nations envoy for the polls said today. The former Nigerian head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakr, appointed as the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for the Gambia last month, told the UN News Centre that reports of widespread election manipulation were either grossly over-exaggerated or unsubstantiated.

Jammeh's Secret Operation To Sell The Gambia Exposed.....

The Gambia is being sold by President Yahya Jammeh. His third term re-election starts with bad signs. A deal was reached to privatize the collapsed National Water and Electricity Company Known as NAWEC. A fictitious company called the Global Management System has taken over NAWEC. This paper made numerous research to trace the said company's parent body or head quarters but without success. As usual, NAWEC reliable sources hinted that the said company was used as a front by the state but in reality  President Yahya Jammeh and his henchmen were the real owners. Prominent personalities featured during the cause of our line of investigations regarding the said bogus comapny that never was. The name of Amadou Samba, Tarik Musa and others featured in the new deal to sell our private corporation. Muhammed Bazzi has been named as the representative of Global Management. He has some Moroccan connections. It is reported in some quarters that Bazzi was hired to run the show by Jilanka. Jilanka's intention is to sell other prastatals before he leaves since he is not certain about the longevity of his administration.

A Sad Moment For Gambians-A Falling Dictator On Rampage!

A Sad Moment For Gambians-A Falling Dictator On Rampage!

Freedom Newspaper Detainees Should Be Release in the spirit of Peace And National Unity

EDITORIAL

Nderry.JPG Recently, we ran a lead story in which the Justice Minister Sheikh Tijan Hydara was quoted as saying that there was no law to prosecute the Freedom Newspaper so called informants. The Minister was right when he  alluded to this undisputable fact. After all, what crime did the detainees committed? The state has the moral obligation to respect the rule of law. The continued detention of these so called informants is not only illegal and but unconstitutional. The Gambian authorities should bear in mind that the liberties and freedoms of the detainees are being infringe daily by failing to accord them the right to decent food, shelter, their lawyers and families. It is also wrong for the NIA to torture people for merely being suspected of having ties with the Freedom Newspaper. The Freedom Newspaper is a legitimate media outlet and therefore we don't see the rationale behind  the government's attempt to intimidate or antagonize people who subscribed to the ideals of this leading paper. By merely subscribing to the Freedom Newspaper don't qualify you to be a reporter, informant or whatever they call it. Jammeh should come to his senses and release these people in the spirit of observing the rule of law and democratic credentials. The regime is causing a great disservice to the people of this country by acting too low and in such a childish manner. A responsible government would have used the criticism and suggestion made by the Freedom Newspaper to revamp our dented image and not to  resort such politics of intimidation.

Freedom Newspaper Accused Of Siding With The EAW-Editors Deny Charges!
Wednesday, October 04, 2006 (667 reads)

       By Abu  Camara, Ohio

We appreciate the news that you give us daily, but disagree with the fact that you are siding with these corrupt lobbyist firms which have no Gambian interest in hand, after all you know that Jammeh will not suffer the consequences if he pay the amount instead the poor Gambians will.

We want to know Johnson said about Aycoth, it may be true.

                                       Aycoth

........................................................................
Editors note: Thanks Mr.Camara for the observations. We have no intention of siding with any of the parties involved in this high profile case. Our reporters and team of seasoned editors tried their best to ensure that the said trial is reported fairly, objectively and accurately. At Freedom, we believe in balance, accurate and up-to-date reportage of news events. We would be doing  disservice to our readers and fans if  we depart from our mission statement-that is to treat all equally irrespective of one's race, color, origin or political affiliation.

With regards to the Grey-Johnson allegations against lobbyist Aycoth, we are still trying to figure out as to whether it is worth publishing considering the potential damage such a piece might caused to Aycoth, his family and business. We do not want to be added into any future legal dispute as a defendant or a witness. We want to remain neutral at all times.

Having said this, it would be wrong for anyone to suggest that we are afraid to publish the piece about John Aycoth. We have the courage to run the piece. We are merely observing responsible journalism. As a responsible paper we owe it to our readers to publish factual stories and not smear campaign pieces. If the said evidence adduced by Ambassador Johnson emerges into the court final electronic version we have no alternative but to publish it. Let wait and see what happens after the printout is out. Court records are public information. But for now, we intend to hold onto the piece until such a time that we have the evidence coming from the court. We hope that this explanation would help you.

On a final note, the management of the Freedom Newspaper appreciates the compliments. We are here to provide you with up-to-date, reliable and first hand Gambian news. Stay tuned brother. Have a great evening.

Will The EAW Lobbyist Ever Get His Money Back From Jammeh?

Will The EAW Lobbyist Ever Get His Money Back?

Jammeh Owns NO Property Or Healthy Bank Account In The US.....

Chances Of Attaching His New Plane Are Very Slim As The Jet Was Not Registered In His Name-Reveals State House Sources...

Aycoth Has A Big Task Ahead Of Him....

The Washington based lobby firm, the EAW Group INC, has a big task ahead of it in the event that the firm emerges victorious in its half a million dollars law suit slambed against the Jammeh government. So far there is no record suggesting that the Gambian government and its corrupt President Yahya Jammeh owns a property or healthy bank account in this country. As such, John Aycoth must be ready to figure out possible means of recovering his hard earned money as he calls it. Recovering the said funds might take years, as Jammeh is reputed to be avoiding people he owed. The best bet for John Aycoth and his team is to issue a secret writ of fifa to attach Jammeh's new plane if it ever touches the US soil. But some even questioned if such court prayers to cease Jammeh's assets would be entertained. Jammeh has hired people as fronts to run his businesses and as such to trace his properties would be very difficult. To some extent, Amadou Samba was right when he told John that he represents the President on business related issues. Samba was used to act as an undercover for the purchase of the Daily Observer. The paper belongs to President Jammeh and not Samba. Let  Samba dispute this and we will present the evidence (Jaharang)  in the open.  Many underestimated Jammeh, but the guy is business conscious. He hardly signs agreements. He believes in verbal agreement and not written one. The chances of the EAW Group of attaching his plane is very slim. If latest reports from Banjul are to go by, the plane was not registered under Jammeh's name. Reports have it that the President as usual uses one of his errand boys to act as an owner. The said owner has been given power of attorney to administ
er the plane and its crews.

Jammeh’s victory, deciphered-Says Former Daily Observer Editor

Jammeh’s victory, deciphered

By Cherno Baba Jallow

It is hard to ignore the deep disconnect between President Yahya Jammeh’s
triumphant victory and the nation’s perverse conditions that can’t have
permitted it. The 2006 elections have further widened the gulf between
Gambia’s perennial leadership crisis and the public’s democratic capacity to
hold its leaders accountable. It also has sent us to a new apogee of
predicament.

20 Prisoners Died Of Hunger And Other Related Diseases From January To Date-Prison Official Reveals

Horomsi: Jammeh Jilanka is not happy these days. He hardly stays at the state house. He is between Banjul and Kanilai. Something is bothering our President. He should share his worries and fears with us. What is going on Jilanka? There was this night when Jilanka hurriedly left the state house for Kanilai. Soldiers at the state house say the man might be suffering from mental illness which he is not keen at sharing with our people at this hour. He walked around state house yard while threatening to crush anyone trying to bring him down. In some instances, Jilanka would go on road running around the sandy beaches early morning before reporting to work. He hardly sleeps and kept on changing his body guards and close protection officers. Inside the state house people openly talked about Jilanka's strange behaviors.
