Let us exercise restrain-Writes Freedom Newspaper Reader!! Sunday, April 13, 2008 (393 reads)
By Momodou Sallah, Leicester
I have managed so far to refrain from the ongoing online debates consciously for a number of reasons. However the latest saga involving Cherno Baba Jallow makes it impossible to keep quite any longer. I found the tone in which the debate is being conducted objectionable. I start from the premise that all involved in the debate have our motherland’s best interest at heart even though the diametrically opposed views are held to be self evident.
My intention here is not to agree with one party or the other but to appeal for restrain. As we all have a common goal, regardless of our viewpoint, I will appeal to all to conduct the debate with more decorum and attack the points raised rather than the personalities involved. This creative tension enables the exploration and engagement of diverse views; however it also has the potential to tear us apart individually and collectively. The passion with which people write shows their commitment but we must recalibrate the debate to the pressing issues at hand rather than the personalities; this I humbly beg of you.

Quote Of The Day: Cherno Baba's Situation Is Very Sad And Pathetic!!! Sunday, April 13, 2008 (614 reads)
"Thanks Mr. Drammeh for speaking your mind. What’s baffling is that this useless Cherno Baba, making noise does not value journalism as a serious career. He is a fake. After bagging his BA in Economics, he has now shifted his reading to Nursing. He has abandoned Economics and International Relations. He wants to be a Nurse, since the former is not marketable in Corporate America. He couldn't get the job he wanted. A highly paid job. He needs a Masters Degree to get a highly paid job in the areas of Economics. Chei’s situation is very sad and pathetic."
I think he needs a stress therapist to help him cool off. Home sick, increasing isolation and stress related problems are threatening the life of this poor boy. We are happily living here with our families. We do not write to vent our stress on people, but Chei does. He is malicious and hateful. Good luck on your RN reading. Perhaps, you can help to cure Jammeh’s diabetics when you graduate.
Chei can only be taken seriously if he specializes on journalism. This Editor is a student of Mass Communication, with one of the most prestigious Universities here in the US. This is no bluff. We love journalism and we shall die as a journalist. We are not driven by personal aggrandizement to the detriment of abandoning our national duties. Shut the hell up Chei. Put ethics in your damn pockets!!!

Is Cherno Baba pompous or jealous? Wales University Student Send Cherno Baba To The Cleaners!! Sunday, April 13, 2008 (533 reads)
Is Cherno Baba pompous or jealous?
By Sidia Drammeh
Johnson & Wales University
I wish to point out something with regard to an essay written by Cherno Baba Jallow on the Gainako online forum. Usually, I don't bother immersing myself in such arguments but this one particularly caught my attention simply because of the nomenclature of its setting and, of course subject. Two things are especially worth mentioning in reacting to this article which are the fact that Cherno's tone smacks of an aggrieved individual, and the fact that he let loose the untruth in his attempt to paint others untruthful.

Gambian Constitution Chapter II Section 5,Sub Section (a) and Section 67 Justify the removal of Jammeh! Saturday, April 12, 2008 (624 reads)
Gambian Constitution Chapter II Section 5,Sub Section (a) and Section 67 Justify the removal of Jammeh!
By TIMBUTKU.
As the Yahya Jammeh government is busy "patching" their self-made constitution we have also decided to be decoding the "condensed" parts of those provisions therein for him Yahya. Let him know this constitution is what will justify his removal as from now onwards. It is also a reminder for Yahya and those he was with in the Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council. That is, the act of adding their "crude" decrees in this constitution as referenced in the said provisions was and can never be legal. Therefore the latter becomes the very first violation of the the contents of a constitution his regime made up to survive from the day one. The contents of the preamble, just before the beginning of the specified chapters, sections, sub sections leave so much to be desired. Yahya Jammeh and his armed band made lofty promises therein, which they have been braking every day! from 1994! In this very preamble Yahya Jammeh and co refered to the future of unborn Gambian children. .

Cherno Baba Jallows Attempted Media Coup Attempt!! Watchman Writes Saturday, April 12, 2008 (601 reads)
CHERNO BABA JALLOW’S ATTEMPTED MEDIA COUP. By Watchman
Some months ago, I became exasperated by Bubacar Sankanu’s narcissistic online soliloquies at The Freedomnewspaper and decided to retort in the name of decency and sanity. It is time Cherno Baba Jallow had his due. I have had my eye on Mr. Jallow’s posturing at Gainako newspaper and All Gambian but figured at the time that he was innocuous and not a one trick pony like Sankanu. I was wrong but it is not too late to remedy the irritation that he has become.

Revisiting Cherno Baba's Past Writings!!!!-Part One!! A Fake Man Exposed!! Saturday, April 12, 2008 (634 reads)
Daily Observer: No light in its Attic
By Cherno Baba Jallow
In the beginning, we could only wonder with studied skepticism, but now, we know it for a quotidian fact: the Daily Observer is equal parts, a conduit for President Yahya Jammeh’s hooey and an enabler of his government’s unfettered authoritarianism. Bully, bully. That’s what Jammeh keeps doing to the Gambian population. And in the Observer, the president has found a willing, if coerced, accomplice.

The United States based Gambians' Movement for Democracy and Development Organization (MDD) commemorates April 10 and 11, 2000 Student massacre in The Gambia. These two dates marks and are regarded as the darkest days in the history of The Gambia. A peaceful demonstration by thousands of unarmed, innocent students to express their grievances in the murder of a fellow student and rape of an other, were confronted by security forces who shot and killed 14 students and a Red Cross volunteer in broad daylight. Several others sustained serious injuries and some of them have been maimed for life. This massacre was followed by another wave of brutal crackdown in the provinces, followed by arrest of numerous pro-democracy activists and some journalists who were out to cover the massacre.

Banjul sewage manholes broken Jammeh government has no cash! VP Njie Saidy spins again! Friday, April 11, 2008 (731 reads)
A Special review by Bubu Hammah
Ask your selves this question? Who is the secretary of state for energy, defense or commander-in-chief in The Gambia? It is HE President Yahya Abdul Aziz Jemus Junkung Jammeh. These are some of the many portfolios our President is handling. He is handling the department of state for defense because he does not trust anyone on that one. He is handling energy and water because he said no one can manage this sector the way he likes it.
