Jammeh’s Private Jet Needs Further Maintenance- Civil Aviation Report Reveals!!!

The Gambia Civil Aviation, the nation’s main air traffic company has released its investigative report on the bird incident, which resulted to the cancellation of President Jammeh’s recent overseas trip.  The report depicts scary details about the unreliability of Jammeh’s jet, and thus recommends for a general maintenance of the plane. Below is the full text of the report.

……………………………………………………………………

The above said aircraft encountered bird strike on engine number 2 and 3 during takeoff from runway 14 at Banjul International Airport on the 24th October 2009 at 21:43pm. Whilst in flight, the captain experienced compressor surge on engine number 2 and decided to return back to Banjul International Airport and safely landed at 23:57pm. A runway inspection was carried out after the aircraft safely landed and a dead bird was found on runway 14 with the head hit injury.

A Rejoinder to an Editorial: Betrayal Was The Case: Sarr, And Chongan The New Born Again Political Apologists!!

I have never sought any secret or open attempt to reconcile with Yahya Jammeh- Chongan

Alpha Ebrima Ismaila Chongan

I sent an article, “Another Side to The Gambian Crisis,” to one of the online papers, but I was surprised that another online paper decided to write an attack editorial about the piece. This editorial missed the point by all marks. I have never sought any secret or open attempt to reconcile with Yahya Jammeh. I will never ever apologise for his leadership. Our differences are simply irreconcilable. In fact I am coming out with a memoir that will attest to this fact. That is all I have to say about the insinuation of attempts by me to apology for Yahya Jammeh in the editorial.

London Letter: Africa’s Miracle - Richard Dowden’s Labour of Love

Richard Dowden, a life-long journalist, used to work for UK’s Independent Newspaper in the early 1990s. I think he was the editor responsible for African news and features. The Independent used to have wonderful centre-spread pictorial stories and in around 1993 they had done this moving pictorial of the great Muhammad Ali with children in Soweto. The great-man had his gentle arms wrapped around the shoulders of the slain Chris Hani’s children (Hani was the leader of the ANC’s armed wing and was set for greatness in a free Azania … but those who wanted him out of the way organized his assassination). The next centre-spread that the Independent did was a giant map of Africa with each country graded out of 10 for “democracy”.

Editorial: Betrayal Was The Case: Sarr, And Chongan The New Born Again Political Apologists!!!

How Far Will They Succeed In Their “Deceptive”  Bid To Reconcile With Jammeh???

….Freedom Newspaper Dishes Chongan, And Sarr

The time has come to speak out against these shameless former military officers, parading as born again political apologists. We are calling them out!!!  We mean former Gendarmerie Major Ebrima Chongan, and Colonel Samsideen Sarr.  The two have been trading on deception for a while now, with the primary objective of achieving their set political, and economic goals. No one is stopping  you from reconciling with President Jammeh, please for heaven sake do not hide in the name of reconciliation to blackmail your fellow countrymen. The Gambia would be better off -without the unprincipled folks like Sarr, and Chogan, whose major weakness is low self esteemed. Slowly, but surely,  Gambians would soon realize the true colors of Sarr, and Chogan, who belonged to the indoctrinated PPP  “ Banjul mafia boys,” whose preoccupation is to exploit any slightest opportunity that knocks on their doors. Chongan, and Sarr should come out open and seek amnesty from President Jammeh, rather than  shifting blames on their colleagues in the struggle. This is the height of hypocrisy.

A word for Surata Marong and Co

By Kemo Cham

This is intended to be a precise and simple response to Surata Marong’s letter, published on Freedom Newspaper, November 7 2009. I have resolved not to serve as a reason for any political scavenger to attract Yahya Jammeh’s attention by provoking my engaging them on whether I should be writing about the man or not. I have gotten a couple of similar missed placed pieces that I preferred not to respond to, because they do not worth wasting my time for. It’s that Surata raised some fundamental issues that made me feel obliged to put him through what he obviously does not know about the man he calls a ‘blessing’ to Gambians. In fact, he knows nothing about Yahya Jammeh other than what he sees written or hear about him. Whether he is blessing or not, let’s leave that for posterity to judge.

A popular revolt or the court of God

By Kemo Cham

Let’s talk politics when it is time for politicking, and let’s talk seriousness when issues of significance are brought forward. While there has never been any doubt that Yahya Jammeh’s government, as a matter of fact Yahya Jammeh himself, is directly responsible for the killing of Dayda Hydara and the many murderous acts in Gambia, this latest revelation, implicating his most trusted body guard, Alhagie Martin, must not by any means be treated lightly. Of course it is an allegation, like the editor at Freedom said. But what are allegations for? The whistleblower knows very well that just by naming Alhagie Martin, the accused is not just going to be handcuffed and sent to jail. He knows Yahya Jammeh will not sanction the accused because he (Jammeh) sent him, according to the report. This is certainly only meant to be a very valuable piece of information that could kick starts an investigation into the matter. They say that every allegation comes with some degree of truth. If Martin is not directly responsible, he certainly has an idea about the whole thing.

APRC Supporter Warns President Jammeh To Be Wary Of Waa Juwara

By Surata Marong

Dear Mr. Pa Nderry,

Please allow me to express my opinion in your news medium. Thanks for taking your time. I believe attaining a PHD does make a person a good leader. There are people with PHDDDDD cannot even dress properly or manage themselves or have a sound way of judgment. When it comes to getting things done in the Gambia, we need fewer architects and more bricklayers. I believe knowledge is the accumulation of facts and the great end of life is not knowledge but action. I would like to commend president Jammeh for taking bold and wise actions for the interest of Gambia.

EX Speaker Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay Cab Driver Reaches Out To Freedom

As Ritual Sacrifice Story Attracts National Attention

FJC Made A Phone Call To The US Appealing For Restraint

Following revelations that the erstwhile House Speaker Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay  hired a taxi to the Bijilo Beach, where she offered some spiritual sacrifice to the waters, in order to regain her post as the speaker of the National Assembly, the driver of the said taxi has contacted the Freedom Newspaper pleading with this paper’s editors for his personal information to be preserved.  The cab driver, whose vehicle registration number plate, and name is currently in the possession of this paper,  made a passionate appeal to the Freedom Newspaper for his vehicle information not to be released to the public, citing the possibilities of the NIA arresting him. “ It has been brought to my attention that your paper reported about my trip with the former Speaker Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay to the Bijilo Beach. It is true that I was hired to drop her to the Beach, but I have nothing to do with her spiritual sacrifice. Since the publication of this story, this lady has been rendered nervous, and confused. She confronted me over the issue, which I emphatically told her that it was news to me. I don’t know who must informed you, but this is a true story. All I am asking for is to do me a favor by not mentioning my name and vehicle information,” pleaded the cab driver.

Stemming abuse of public property?

By Kemo Cham

Last Thursday, November 5 2009, another minister took oath of office to serve ‘‘without fear or favor, ill will or affection.’’ Dr Abubakar Gaye became part of the rank of Gambian ministers as the new minister of Health, replacing recently sacked Dr Mariatou Jallow in the most unpredictable government on planet earth. A ‘‘difficult task,’’ Yahya Jammeh himself admitted, when presiding over the swearing ceremony at State House.
